RocketLord Posted January 24, 2019 Author Posted January 24, 2019 @Grumblefloof, @Avenger Assembled: It is not showing any ability to defy gravity. There's just a lot of it pouring down, and the level in the room is starting to rise. It is not moving along the ceiling so far.
Avenger Assembled Posted January 28, 2019 Posted January 28, 2019 Lady Horus goes ahead and fires down through the hole she made in the floor! Blast 14 (Extra: Penetrating 10 [as DMG 24], Flaw: Action [Full], PFs: Improved Crit 1, Variable Descriptor 1 [any light]) {26/26} Let me know what kind of roll I need to make there so I can describe the effects
RocketLord Posted January 29, 2019 Author Posted January 29, 2019 I thought I had responded yesterday, sorry! No roll necessary, the hole is not really moving and is rather big. Feel free to describe the effects.
Amelia Posted February 1, 2019 Posted February 1, 2019 I'm having a difficult time following exactly what's happening. Can someone please explain to me exactly what's happening and where everything is in relation to everything else? I feel lost.
RocketLord Posted February 1, 2019 Author Posted February 1, 2019 @Grumblefloof I think that Lady Horus, Ronin, Wadjet and Doctor Thorne is in the room with the books, where they have currently started setting the ink on fire... including the ink that is pouring into the floor below, where Mr. Strix is currently clinging to the ceiling. Lady Horus' last strike created holes to the floors further below, which the burning ink is now falling into, though there is still a lot of it in the same room as Mr. Strix.
Avenger Assembled Posted February 1, 2019 Posted February 1, 2019 My thought was that Lady Horus and Wadjet are 'upstairs', firing and shooting down through the hole the former created - if the geography of that doesn't work, let me know.
Amelia Posted February 1, 2019 Posted February 1, 2019 Ok, I think I've got it. Strix will try to capture a sample of the ink in his room, using Wall-Crawling and Leaping as necessary to keep from touching it directly. Is there anything in the room with him that would make a suitable improvised container, or should he burn a Hero Point for a temporary Equipment feat rank?
Tiffany Korta Posted February 2, 2019 Posted February 2, 2019 Hopefully, I can do this as a simple Snare effect, but if not I'll throw in the HP to make this thing happen!
RocketLord Posted February 2, 2019 Author Posted February 2, 2019 As per chat, idea works, and Rosa is now down on the second floor, with the ink currently being on the fifth through third floors.
RocketLord Posted February 10, 2019 Author Posted February 10, 2019 Sorry, must have missed your question, @Grumblefloof. The room seems to be storage, so there's multiple boxes with candy in it, including some with decorative glass that can be closed with a small hinge. Those boxes are about to be on fire, so up to you if you go for them or burn the HP.
RocketLord Posted February 10, 2019 Author Posted February 10, 2019 @Grumblefloof: The ink in Mr. Strix's room is now on fire too. I believe that triggers your achilles heel to fire with his instinctive fear. +1HP for you. @Avenger Assembled, @Supercape: The ink's gone from the top room (of these), but everything's one fire! @Tiff: Time to work your magic, if anyone can get the burning ink into your circle!
Amelia Posted February 10, 2019 Posted February 10, 2019 So another Will save vs Emotion Control (Fear)? Or something else? If so, what's the DC? Here's a Will save: 19.
RocketLord Posted February 11, 2019 Author Posted February 11, 2019 Yeah, worked well last time. And DC20, like last time too, so just failed. -2 to attack, defense and checks.
Amelia Posted February 18, 2019 Posted February 18, 2019 Quote Of course, there was also still their original reason for entering the building. The group that was in the top room of the building. If they were even still there. [TORRENT OF FRUSTRATED EXPLETIVES] See, this is why I was asking for clarification as to what exactly was going on in terms of space and location. I thought we were in the top floor. I thought the room with the books and the animated ink was the top floor. EDIT: The longer I think about this, the angrier and more frustrated I get. My PC has basically been idle and useless for several posts now, and that wouldn't have happened if I'd gotten the clarification on the local geography that I specifically asked for.
RocketLord Posted February 18, 2019 Author Posted February 18, 2019 As I said in chat, my bad, I misunderstood the situation question. Anyway, to make it clear: The room with the books (where every page is now blank if anyone checks them) is about 2 floors from the top. To speed it up a bit, there will be traces of ink (like smudged ink on a paper) everywhere, pretty clearly leading to a specific room that's roughly in the middle of the building. No windows or anything like that into it.
Amelia Posted February 18, 2019 Posted February 18, 2019 Misunderstandings all around. I'll live. Mister Strix will activate Mist Form again, in the hopes that this will best help him bypass any obstacles or other guards, and he'll and get upstairs as fast as he can. He has Flight 3, so that's a 50MPH cruising speed.
Avenger Assembled Posted February 20, 2019 Posted February 20, 2019 Anna Cline is going to stunt: Nullify Fire 10 (Extra: Area [Burst], Flaw: Action [Full]) off her Time Control array. Let me know if that works, @RocketLord, and I'll post!
RocketLord Posted February 20, 2019 Author Posted February 20, 2019 @Avenger Assembled That should work, let's see the IC.
Amelia Posted February 24, 2019 Posted February 24, 2019 @RocketLord Are there any cracks around the door that Strix can slip through while he's still in mist form?
RocketLord Posted February 24, 2019 Author Posted February 24, 2019 It appears to be closed shut with some hardened black mass.
Amelia Posted February 25, 2019 Posted February 25, 2019 Assuming no one's around to try to stop him, Strix will attempt to break the door down, and probably tank the alpha strike. Quote BREAKING OBJECTS If you want to attack an object that you have in-hand or that no one is preventing you from attacking, such as smashing down a door, bending a metal bar, snapping bonds, or cutting through a wall with a Blast power, you can apply force more effectively. This requires a full-round action. Instead of rolling, assume the object’s Toughness save result is equal to (5 + Toughness). Super-Strength adds +1 per rank to your normal Strength bonus for damaging objects in this way (and only in this way). If your damage bonus is equal to the object’s Toughness, you break it, 5 or more than the object’s Toughness, you destroy it automatically. Strix has Strength +8 and Super-Strength 2, for a total of +10.
RocketLord Posted February 25, 2019 Author Posted February 25, 2019 (edited) Door easily breaks under that. See more IC. And Initiative for anyone that is up by the door or gets to it, please. You can all make it during your post, if you want to. Edited February 25, 2019 by RocketLord
