The entire ship shook with the wave of energy let out by Asad. While several of the squids waved around the energy, doing their best to avoid its effects or otherwise managed to withstand the hit, five of them were caught in the force of the explosion, being blown back and slamming hard into the surrounding walls. While it was difficult to tell at a glance, the five appeared unconscious, the weapons floating out of their grasp and into the waters around them.

Yet, the room still held 5 squids and their leader, all quickly deciding on targets.

Sea Devil bent her knees and kicked upwards, her armored fingertips catching onto the ceiling overhead. She scuttled forward, fast and inhuman, moving with a grace and speed underwater that made her native-born element perfectly clear. She got close to the squid leader and stabbed downward with her free hand, the sharpened tips of her trident scoring against his flesh. There was alien blood in the water now and she gave a low menacing thrum in the back of her throat that carried to her three companions. The look on her face was hard for the humans to read but they could see the wide, staring eyes, and hear the snap of jagged teeth from inside her armor.  She gave another thrum, and kicked her feet against the surface above her head. They had thought to trap her - but now they were the ones trapped with her, and her anger!

The five remaining squids were flashing red and yellow, quickly and rapidly now. It was almost a strobe light effect, lighting up the small room. They seemed to be panicking, clearly having believed this to be much easier than it ended up being. Blast of bright white light shot out from their weapons, flying all around the small room, but only one found its mark, flying right at the Sea Devil.

The leader of the squid recoiled slightly, first at the bite, then at the stab from above, but it did not simply accept that. While the other squid were flashing red and yellow in panic, it flashed a deep dark red, in pure anger and hate, while swarming forward to grapple Sgt. Shark with several of its limbs. Electricity sparked around its body as it took hold around Sgt. Shark.

Sgt Shark

The Sarge once again felt the sharp electric twang flow through his body.

Damn it Its only a squid! he tried to tell himself, but he couldn't recall every facing a squid this large or strong. If he hadn't had volts sparking thropugh his head, maybe he would have realised it was an alien.

"Grrrrangh! Strong!!!!" he called out to Asad and the Sea Devil, as a gritted way of warning.

He could smell the smell of singed flesh. But he was as tough as old nails, and instead of succumbing to the pain, he gritted his teeth.

"That all you got?" he said directly to the Squid leader, showing him his tingling teeth and black eyes. "I'm going to enjoy eating you. Slowly. Alive...." he muttered, not breaking eye contact.

Ignoring the pain of electrocuted nerves, he tried to break free of the countless tentacles!

Even if Sgt. Shark were talking another language entirely, one composed of sound, very unlike what the alien squid was used to for communication, but even then, it understood that Sgt. Shark was a predator, and despite everything, he now seemed to consider it a prey! It was clearly unnerved by his defiance, even as it threatened to crush his body, and the brief pause was enough to give it pause. And that short pause was all that Sgt. Shark needed to escape it seemed, freeing himself entirely from its tentacles, opening it up to clearer attacks from his allies, without risk of harming Sgt. Shark.

"Would you believe this is not the first time I've had some... unfortunate contact with aliens?"  And with that, he started to just draw in, energy cells grabbed at.  He didn't have words for the process, the sensation.  Sure he might be eloquent with some things, discussing the finer points of his ability to draw in energy eluded him regularly.

"No?  Ah, I guess you had to have been there last time.  For the record.  They aren't around.  I am.  So if you understand me, can you please just stop this?  I am begging you to stop."   He was doing a display, he hoped they that convey the point, as the power literally poured into him.  His hands balling into fists.

With the energy draining into Asad, the leader of the squids seemed to hesitate at first, before redoubling its efforts. Did it understand him, and what he was doing? Or was it merely biding its time, trying to figure out what to do? No matter the reason, the electric aura around it seemed to flicker for a brief moment, but it was still there.

The other squids just looked puzzled. Or at least as puzzled as giant, alien squids could look to normal humans. For three, the weapons in their arms seemed to fizzle and sputter, being quickly brought up to be inspected to try and figure out what was happening.

Sea Devil braced herself against the ceiling and struck downward, slicing at the leader of the squid-things with her trident. Stunning it briefly from the pain and shock of the blow, she leaped downwards and grabbed it with one three-fingered hand, bellowing defiance in a tone that rang off the walls of the chamber where they were imprisoned. Holding it steady for a moment, she struck it again with the trident, this time empowering her blade with energy from her suit so that it glowed like a fiery tree before she sliced it across the creature's torso again. "!Surface-Men will come and kill you if you do not surrender!" she instructed the creature and its fellows. She added a few more remarks in Lemurian about how they should listen to her and not be so stupid as to eat their own voidings, as they clearly were doing now.

The leader of the squid fell, going completely limp in Aquaria's hands. The five remaining squids paused, three of them struggling with their weapons, while the others began to glow in response to Aquaria. Blue, red, yellow. Softly switching between the colors, though staying mostly in the blue spectrum. The three with the weapons eventually let them go, letting them drift in the water before them.

It was not easy to understand them. The leader seemed to be better at communicating with other species, but they seemed to agree to surrender, now that their leader had fallen.

It was with mighty effor that Victor surpressed his furious brain. He had been burnt, electrocuted, and beguiled, and all he could think about was blood.

He chewed his tongue. That helped.

Despite his primitive brain screaming at him, he was still a soldier. A professional. He didn't chew up enemies that had surrendered.

Although he wasn't entirely sure what they were doing. Not fighting. That was a start. But he couldn't understand much further than that. He knew marine animals communicated by more than sound. They used smells and colours too, and that, presumably, was what these aliens were doing. Allthough what they were saying was beyond him.

"That's pretty" he grunted. "But I don't know what the hell it means...."

"It is lies and deceit. LIES AND DECEIT!" Sea Devil was infuriated, and so she took action. With contemptous ease, she strode past the cringing, mewling squid men, towards the doors they must have entered through to set this ambush. She ignited her trident and smashed it tip-first against the door, leaning it as she ground energized orichalcum against coral. As she did so, an energy pattern emerged; an odd shape in brilliant, searing gold like two question marks growing from a flower, one that radiated in strange eldritch patterns where it burned on the wall. When she had burned deep enough, Aquaria ducked low and kicked.

The squids seemed to be panicking as Aquaria moved towards the door and started attacking it. They moved, but hesitated, backing away as the odd energy of the eldritch energy burned into the doorway. All but one, at least. The moment that Aquaria kicked at the door, one of the squid moved through what appeared to be a secret entrance at the side of the room. It closed instantly behind it, while Aquaria's kick proved more than strong enough to break the door down.

The four remaining squid scrambled, swimming to quickly try and make their way past the heroes and into the next room of the crashed spaceship, but Aquaria was blocking the door, and both the Sea Devil and Asad were in the way.

The next room were dark, a hallway splitting into two, with options to go left or right, with the paths curcing slightly, probably moving around the circumference of the ship. It would be hard to make out any colors of the room, but it appeared to be made out of dull blues and greens.

It started a subtle twist, as Asad was drawing in more energy, like a faint tug towards him.  Then he aimed his first in front of the aliens and he let it go.  In a place like here there is no sound, not the same above the water. However, that was not the same with the sheer force that Asad could release.

KA-THOOM!

It was brilliant blue white light, and the impact of it against the floor in front of them was felt in the water, rippling outward.  The other two had hit the aliens hard, Asad demonstrated that he hit harder, as he sped through the water to block their escape.  To say the hero was fed up was an understatement, and it was clear as he raised that arm up and aimed the glowing fist towards the remaining conscious aliens.  He was done talking.

The squids stopped in their tracks. Rather, they were forcibly stopped in their tracks, as Asad's explosion of brilliant blue white energy impacted against the floor and the water blew out towards the squids, sending them back a few feet. They all flashed yellow as Asad raised his glowing hand, starting to huddle together, their arms wrapping around each other as they sought support. They stayed very yellow, not a single other colors shining from them.

To those that understood, the meaning was clear. Don't hurt us. We surrender.

And yet, one squid that the group knew of remained, having escaped somewhere into the ship.

Multicolored energy crackled along Aquaria's trident. the equivalent of incoherent muttering for a Surfacer, before she turned on the cowering squid. She had no fear of showing dominance to these weaklings (a Deep One tribe would never have faked a surrender), but she knew too much force would make them useless. She trusted Asad and Sgt. Shark to scout ahead, knowing that her ability to speak to the squids made her more valuable here. She spoke to them slowly, having to stop to translate for her two colleagues with the occasional bellow. Pay attention. We are saving you. Where is that one going? And where are you keeping the Surface-Men?

The squids were, as far as they could tell, absolutely terrified, absolutely glowing yellow now. They all snapped to attention, huddled around each other as they were, one weakly pointing further into the ship at the question. The one that had pointed started flashing. Duller and brighter, shifting through much of the color spectrum. It was difficult, but Aquaria understood, at least.

They are further in the ship. I will show the way. Please do not hurt us anymore.

It paused, flashing more colors in response to the question of its comrade.

He hid. He was scared.

Sea Devil made a gesture for the squid-aliens to guide them to the imprisoned Surfacemen, frowning unhappily as she went. They were certainly intimidating the weak, pathetic little squid-things effectively enough, but actually getting them to change their minds about their intentions was going to be considerably more difficult. If they would just argue instead of flinching so! She struck her trident against the ground as the heroes followed the directions of the now-cowed squids, heading deeper into the guts of the alien spaceship. If they trouble us again, I will begin destroying walls! she thought with annoyance.

Why have you done this? she demanded of them. What is your plan?

The squids seemed to look between each other, at least as far as the heroes could tell. The one that had talked to Aquaria finally replied, glowing in a plethora of different colors. It was fast, quick, difficult to understand, but she understood.

The Leader commands it. The Leader is everything. We follow the Leader.

The Leader seemed to be represented by a comple lack of color, the squids turning completely black for a brief moment to mention it.

Only the Leader knows, as it should be.

Almost as soon as the squid had flashed in color, telling Aquaria about their leader, the entire structure began to shake. Everything started to shift and turn around them, like the entire space ship were starting to change shape. Everything was moving, with openings beginning to appear around them as the ship shifted, at least it presented openings that they could escape from, if that was their choice.

The squids still near them started to scatter, moving parts and pieces of the ship quickly blocking the group from pursuing, unless they started trying to tear the ship apart from the inside, at least. Of course, that would just open them up for further attempts by the ship to smash them.

Sea Devil drove her trident into the ground and expanded her mind, heedless of the things bouncing off her armor. Amid the chaos all around her, she listened for the song of the universe all around her, listening for the voices of what had to be the Surface-Men being held in this warping and changing ship. The changes helped her; they were symbols of the chaos of Mother Hydra; they hurt her, she could be crushed by moving debris! But then that was how it worked, with the songs of the gods Below. "I have them," she croaked loudly, echoing over the sound of the chaos all around them. "I-Surface-Man!" she bellowed to Asad, pointing with her free hand. "They are there! Four walls, and an open space! Their guards flee! Fly - and take us with you!

Sgt Shark

Sgt Shark felt his senses spark, and the smell of danger hit his nose.

The ship was falling, or disintegrating, or collapsing. Quite possibly doing all three. As sturdy as he was, he wasn't armour plated or invulnerable like Sea Devil or Asad. And sometimes, one had to beat a hasty retreat.

With a flick of his mighty limbs and an eel-like agility, he whipped through the churning waters and out of one of the port holes.

"Get out! Or Get crushed!" he yelled - to everyone, really. Unless Asad could somehow throw the whole thing to the moon. Possibly, he could.
