Alright, fine. Robin was back in action, having shaken off that hit. Emerald Spider was moving around, drawing the bad guy's fire away from Robin. That was actually a pretty great idea, wasn't it? Keep him guessing, not knowing who to focus on, right? Emerald Spider probably had a better idea about fighting together with someone, so, follow her lead, right?

Full power to the engine, then. Robin started running, coming up from behind the bone guy as he turned to try and hit the Emerald Spider. Robin span around, raising her right leg up. "He doesn't really sound like the talkative type, does he?" Alright, the engine was powered up, time for a full powered Justice Kick! Continuing her movement, she delivered the powered kick directly towards the bad guy's side.

"Grah!" While the man seemed intent on some form of communication, it didn't really sound like he could

The man moved, loud cracks being heard from his bones, as he bent out of the way of the quantum webbing, then let out a loud groan as Justice's kick connected to his side. The point where she had connected instantly grew razor sharp bones, which stabbed towards her armored boot.

For his part, the man stumbled to the side, taking a step or two to regain his balance after Justice's blow.

Emerald Spider

Emerald Spider was still in motion, maybe to much as her aim still seemed to be off not even getting close to hitting the target. She’d been enough fights to know that sometimes you needed a moment to get you bearing, she also needed to give her new ally a break to recover his wits. Sticking to the wall with her fist raised in defense she called out again to there foe.

“Hey ugly, you wanna try for real this time or what?”

Hopefully it was enough to get his attention as an easy target, lets just hope he didn’t strike like a truck!

"Ow!" The kick connected, hard enough to at least put the guy off balance for a moment, but the moment she connected, Robin felt the spikes under his coat. They didn't exactly cut through her armor, but if the angle had been a little worse, they just might have. Just who was this guy, and what was he made of? Seemed like bones, but they were dense and sharp. Anyway, she was not about to make that mistake again. "Watch out, he stings when you hit him." She might be trying to sound all business, but in truth, she was just a little bit excited to get to show off this trick. If getting in close with the guy hurt her, and if he was hard enough that a kick only knocked him off balance for a moment, then she needed something more powerful than the Justice Buster.

Shifting a hand to her belt, she clicked a button, while raising the Justice Buster with the other. A portal appeared behind her, blue pieces of armor flying out from it towards her, while the pink and red armor she was currently wearing flew away. It all happened fast. Fast enough that the bad guy couldn't get a chance to stab at her while it did so. The end result? A blue armor similar to her previous one, but more heavily armored, and with no scarf, but what appeared to be small boost rockets behind her. Wires from the armor's right gauntlet had connected to the Justice Buster.

Quickly raising the gun, she didn't waste time aiming much, instead firing a powerful blast directly at the bad guy's chest.

The man, or was it a monster, moved as the Emerald Spider fired at him, his twisted face changing into what might be a grin, at least until the light show that Justice put up, followed by the blast that connected directly to his chest. The Emerald Spider's taunt might have worked, drawing his attention away from Justice, if not for that blast.

As it was, he looked down at his chest where the blast had connected for a moment, before lunging wildly at Justice, swinging a clawed and spiked arm towards her, which she only just managed to back away from.

Emerald Spider

Just attacking wasn’t apparently working, so it was time to consider a new strategy. Bouncing around seemed to he helping but she needed something to help give them an advantage.

“Hey ugly head up! Lights out!” she called enough volume to hopefully get his attention

With her specialized finger movements she altered the quantities of her quantum filaments so that when she fired them off they would adhere to his face, hopefully blind him for a few minutes to give them a chance to regroup.

Yes! A hit! Robin got him, right in the chest! And... he didn't honestly seem all that bothered by it. What was this thing made of? It couldn't just be regular bones, could it? Had to be something else to him too, aside from the obvious. She wasn't quite used to this armor yet, but keeping her distance had to be the best choice her. Just like Emerald Spider, bouncing all around and calling out and shooting webbing straight into the guy's face.

"Awesome!" Robin shouted back in triumph at the Spider's hit. Right in the face, and Mr. Boneface was already grabbing at it, trying to break free. Angling herself a bit, Robin activated the jump jets in her boots, catapulting her back, out of reach and to the right of the bone guy while taking aim. Emerald Spider had bought her a moment, she had to use that. Full power to the Justice Buster. "Hey, hey! Over here!" She had to keep talking, say something, then pull the trigger, the recoil of the blast sending her arms flying upwards. She really needed to do something about that.

The man with the many bones growled and desperately clawed at the webbing stuck to his face. He managed to scratch himself, marks appearing on his face, scratches in the bones that stuck out, but to no avail: The webbing was stuck, and he was unable to see. Despite this, he turned to the sound as Justice called out to him. He probably just couldn't help himself, as the blast slammed into him at full force, knocking him a few feet back, closer to Emerald Spider, leaving him completely open to attack.

Emerald Spider

With his face covered in the quantum web Peri figured it was time to try to and bind up the strange villain. Pausing and tumbling to fire off a stream of quantum filament that would hopefully stop them long enough to figure out what was going on.

“Let’s stick around and talk this on out!”

Another flip and she was on another wall, just in case this didn't quite work how she planned. Which truth be told that was more common than she’d like to admit, still every now and again her did luck change.

"Got him!" Robin held the Justice Buster in her hands, taking careful aim. The suit was bulky, sure. Slower, but more heavily armoed, but the main thing she could use right now? The boost to the Justice Buster. The guy had already proved pretty resilient to anything they threw at him, just tanking through it all, but not the Emerald Spider had him all webbed up, all locked down, and it was up to Justice to take the shot.

Breathe, take her time to aim properly. Line up the shot, and, pull the trigger.

Everything came too fast for the strange man with the sharp bone-like exterior. Blinded, struggling, hit again and again, strange webs catching him, and hten, finally, the one in red armor taking aim and firing. No matter how tough he was, it was simply too much. All webbed up, and with a blast aimed straight at his face, he fell to the ground with a heavy *THUMP!*, laying motionless.

Justice turned to the Emerald Spider, resting her gun on her shoulder, and grinned. "So, uh, that went alright, right? Ever seen somebody like this before?"

If anything, the man appeared even more grotesque when still. Random bone potrusions all around his body, sharp blades and spikes. Not anything that could have felt even remotely pleasant.

With the foe apparently restrained for now Emerald Spider lept down to besides Justice, placing a (hopefully) reassuring hand on there shoulder.

Are you okay? You took quite the beating with this one, talking of...”

She turned to looked closely at the restrained villain nothing having met them before, or recognized them from the small pool of Emerald City villains. Still seeing what they’d been doing, they were definitely dangerous.

So any idea of who they are, or why they’ve been attacking people all this time?”

Emerald Spider was checking up on her? Robin could just about squee, but she should keep it cool, right? Be completely cool.

"I'm good, I think." She traced her fingers over the dents and scratches in her armor. "The armor took the brunt of it, I think." No ringing. A bit sore. All in all, held up pretty well.

Turning over to the strange man, she moved forward, gently poking him with the gun. "Never seen anything like this guy before. Didn't sound like he could do much talking aside from thoat grunts and growls. Maybe he's working for someone?" Looks could be deceiving, sure, but this didn't really seem like some kind of mastermind, did it? "Don't suppose you got some kinda way of tracking where he's been? Dunno how much he'll wanna tell us, even if he do wake up."

Maybe I should do something like that someday, a spider tracker or some such! But no I’ve not got anything like that one me.” there was a cheer in her voice, this was the kind of thing she enjoyed

We’ll just have to use our intelligence to work this out, and I don’t know about you but I’m pretty smart.”

As she spoke she examined the costume of this villain, looking for any clues that might give them some idea of where he’d been and what he’d been up to. There might be something about his identity, but that was the last thing they’d need to try after all she probably wouldn’t know who his was without some research.

"Yup, same here." Robin replied, using her fist to lightly hit her helmet twice, making it give off a metallic sound. "Built this thing on my own. Fourth major version so far. But I gotta remember to build a tracker or something. Kinda been reacting to what I've come up against with my tools."

She looked down at the guy. He looked weird, yeah, but there weren't really anything she could recognize, or any clues she could find. Then again, she wasn't exactly familiar with Bethlehem Heights. Upper-middle class girl and all that, she'd rarely stepped foot here before putting on the mask.

Emerald Spider had more luck, at least. The man's pants had the remains of a square with three stripes diagonally across. It was a logo on a nearby warehouse, and at least a lead to go on.

Peri was smart, very smart, but she was also very observant, it wasn’t something that she’d gained from the suit she’d always been that way. At a glance she picked up blood on the man, but that really didn’t mean much for someone that was stalking and killing people at least not for now. However she could spot something that might help.

Did you see this?” she pointed out the label she spotted “I know this area pretty well and that's from a warehouse pretty close to here. Couldn’t hurt to check it out, if your up for it obviously?”

Posted

Justice

Bending down in her knees, Robin tried to get a better look at the logo. It wasn't something she recognized, but it made sense to check out, yeah. "Sounds like its our only lead, right?" She stood up again. "But we can't just leave him here like this. He could start hurting someone else. Could you like... web him up real good? Then I'll call the cops on him on the way to the warehouse?" Weird. She'd been growing more confident, but hanging out with Emerald Spider like this, Robin felt kind of insecure. Like, there's a big hero, how could she do anything else but just listen and learn, right?

It wasn't far to the warehouse, Robin could use her jump jets to get there, Emerald Spider could easily swing. Making her way to a nearby rooftop that overlooked the place. It was a big building, with the logo from the man's pants prominently showing on its walls, but other than that, it seemed pretty standard for a warehouse. Nothing out of the ordinary, and pretty closed, given the time of the day.

"So, either that's some sinister place, or the guy just used to work there, right? What do you wanna do, go in and look around?"

Emerald Spider

Emerald Spider nodded beneath her hood, which wasn’t quite as obvious as she’d like so she added verbally.

Sure it seems like the best idea to see what’s going on at his place of work.”

She pause and looked back at the Justice, hanging off the side of a nearby building as was her habit, as she considered there options before adding.

We shouldn’t probably go through the front door, just in case he’s got anything planned for intruders.”

Posted

Justice

"I dunno. Didn't really seem like the kind of guy to do a whole lot of planning," Robin added. Still, Emerald Spider was right. It was never the best option to go through the front door, at least not if you didn't want to draw attention. Of course, that could be a plan in itself.

But, ES wanted to do the stealth thing, and honestly, Robin was still just psyched to just be working with her hero, so probably no reason to present her own plan. "But sounds good to me. Maybe there's a window or some hatch on the roof or something like that." She readied her jump jets. It was a far jump, but she could probably make it. "I'll check the roof!"

GM

It seemed they had plenty of options of how to get in. Justice found a window with darkened glasses above on the roof. She couldn't see through it, but she could probably break through without too much trouble. It might have a mechanism for opening it, but it had to be from the inside, so nothing she could operate from her current position.

The Emerald Spider could, of course, spot the door, if she wanted to use the front. Otherwise, there seemed to be windows situated around the building, at the first and third floor in height. Seemed to be normal glass, easy enough to break. One particular window on the third floor was open, letting air in.

If Peri looked in, she would be able to spot several large containers scattered around the warehouse, not really utilizing the room in any meaningful way. They seemed like they were randomly placed, like something had dragged it in and let them go.

Emerald Spider

Whist her ally went low Emerald Spider went high, reaching the places that others couldn’t teach on foot. It helped that she could now scale walls without any real thought, it was sometimes strange how normal all this felt really. Scouting things out she thought she’d found an easy way to get into the warehouse, easy for her anyhow.

I think I see a way in, if you want I can drop you a line and bring you up?”

By now she had a pretty good idea of what weight the quantum filament could take and it looked to be well within her capacities.

Justice

Robin peeked out from the rooftop, looking down at the Emerald Spider on the side, and quickly shaking her head. "It's cool, I got it!" She just needed to turn on her electrostatic pads, divert some of the power from her suit to it, aaand... voila!

Hands and feet on the roof, she stared slowly climbing down until she was at the same level as the Emerald Spider. Even if it wasn't showing through her helmet, Robin had a big goofy grin on her lips. "Kiiinda got the idea for this gadget for you? I hope that's alright?"

She waited a moment, then climbed in. She seemed like she was more heavily armored than the Emerald Spider, so hopefully, she could get in the way of any hits if there were someone inside.

Once inside the warehouse, it would at least seem like the duo were alone, aside from the five large containers scattered around the room. A red one in the North end, a blue one pressed up completely in the North-West corner, a yellow one in the very middle of the warehouse, with a green one a bit to the East of it, and finally, a dark grey one pressed up against the South wall.

They were all rather large, the kind of shipping containers one would expect to see on trading ships. At a first glance, they all seemed closed.

Emerald Spider

In her day job she’d visited many warehouse, and a few in her superhero job, and after a while they all seemed to look more or less the same. And that didn’t really help in this situation, when they needed to look for evidence. They couldn’t have long before he escaped or was discovered so they couldn’t spend much time searching the place.

Don’t suppose you have some kind of x-ray vision in that thing do you?”

As she spoke she quickly scanned around just in case she’d missed anything important.

Posted

Justice

"Not yet, no. Haven't gotten that quite right yet, sorry." Justice's tone made it sound like she was apologizing, which she honestly was. She really should have figured out the whole x-ray thing by now, but it just hadn't worked out so far. Either way too little penetration or way too much, and frankly, she wasn't into not being able to see where any walls were, or ending up seeing through people's skin.

Emerald Spider had a good point, though. Either someone would find the bone guy, or he'd end up running. Finding him might be good, unless he ended up hurting someone... Ugh, had to figure something out.

"Alright, no time to waste, then." Reaching for her belt, she pulled out her blaster and moved to then nearest container, the green one. She took aim and fired at the lock, blowing it to pieces, getting ready for whatever might or might not be coming out.
