Ecalsneerg Posted September 30, 2008 Author Posted September 30, 2008 Whirling around as his hand flew to his quiver yet again, Arrowhawk caught one of the men in the temple and knocked him out. Not pausing to allow another shot to be fired. he made a break for the cover of the computer desk.
MBCE Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 Arrowhawk manages to dive across the desk just as the lone guard manages to redraw his weapon. He fires a shot that misses the hero. He stood silhouetted within the broken doorway.
Ecalsneerg Posted September 30, 2008 Author Posted September 30, 2008 A final blunt arrow left the final man sprawled on the floor. Ok, I hope that they left the opening mechanism exposed in their hurry to flee, thought Arrowhawk quickly looking around the room.
MBCE Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 Arrowhawk moved quickly around the room lookin g for a way to open the bookcase. It didn'T take him long to find the small button under teh desk that once push swung the bookcase open to reveal an elevator. A quick look at the light indicated that the elevator went down to a sub-basement. A button to call the elevator back to this floor was on the wall next to it.
Ecalsneerg Posted September 30, 2008 Author Posted September 30, 2008 Arrowhawk pushed the button to to recall the elevator, quickly jumping back with his bow levelled, in case they either rigged it to explode or left another gunman in there.
MBCE Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 The elevator opened after a short while to reveal a small empty space. Stepping into the elevator, Arrowhawk notes that there was only a button to head down to the subbasement. The size of the eleveator is fairly small, only large enough for two people at the most which gives the impression it was mostly for personal use. The doors did not have windows on them so heading down could be dangerous if someone was waiting for him to come.
Ecalsneerg Posted October 5, 2008 Author Posted October 5, 2008 Arrowhawk quickly pressed the down button on the elevator, before dropping into a rough defensive stance with his arms held up in front of his face as protection and his legs coiled ready to move in the event of danger.
MBCE Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 It doesn'T take the elevator long to reach the sub basement. As the doors begin to open, Arrowhawk takes up a defensive posture. It seems the added percaution passes off as a blast of electricity flies by his head. With the doors open, Arrowhawk sees that he is in a room filled with tables and boxes. Upon the tables are clear packages of white powder. Before the door a short distance away, Arrowhawk sees the source of the electric blast. A costumed man with his arm pointed at the open elevator stood before the tables. Beyond the man, another door could be seen. "Looks like I get to work for my paycheck after all. I hope you turn out to be worth the effort."
Ecalsneerg Posted October 5, 2008 Author Posted October 5, 2008 "Doubt it zappy, you couldn't hit me when I was barely moving," laughed Arrowhawk, darting out of the elevator and aiming a blunt arrow towards the man's neck. "And hitting things is my speciality."
MBCE Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 Arrowhawk moves like lightning, moving out of the small elevator and shooting his arrow. The blow catches the armored man squarely and a grunt of pain escapes his lips. The man shakes his head, trying to bear through the pain. Unfortunately, the action left him open to Arrowhawk.
Ecalsneerg Posted October 8, 2008 Author Posted October 8, 2008 Seeing his opponent stunned, Arrowhawk planted both feet squarely and began firing off a series of arrows in rapid succession at the hired thug.
MBCE Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 The arrows fly and hit but their damage is [blunted by the man's clothing. The blows however manage to help him regain his sense, and he again gets ready to attack.
Ecalsneerg Posted October 9, 2008 Author Posted October 9, 2008 I can't slug it out for long here, I need to take him down fast. Arrowhawk pulls an arrow with an unusually large round head and fires it straight at his opponent, the arrow exploding into a tough net upon impact.
MBCE Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 The netting seems to be directly on target, but the man easily dodges outside of the snare. "Let's see how you do without that bow of yours!" he calls out as he fires a blast at the bow. The blast manages to hit. Arrowhawk can feel the blast pushing the bow from his grasp.
Ecalsneerg Posted October 12, 2008 Author Posted October 12, 2008 Unable to hold on, the bow is flung clear out of Arrowhawk's hands, but the costumed man continues forwards anyway. "Considering I don't use my bow as a crutch like you do your powers..." he said, turning his forwards momentum into a vicious punch towards the man's head. "Probably better!"
MBCE Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 The blow hits solidly but it doesn't seem to have any effect on the man. "Right..." he says as he brings his own fist into Arrowhawk's midsection. He smiles as the blow connects.
Ecalsneerg Posted October 13, 2008 Author Posted October 13, 2008 Quickly rolling with the blow, Arrowhawk's attempt at a feint was interrupted just enough to be rendered pointless. Who needs finesse, anyway? The hero brought his knee up in a quick jab to his foe's groin, missing as his opponent easily stepped back away from the move.
MBCE Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 "Hahahaha! Is that the best you can do?" the helmeted man said as he brought his fist around in a haymaker that hit Arrowhawk again in the midsection.
Ecalsneerg Posted October 14, 2008 Author Posted October 14, 2008 As the punch connected, all the air was knocked out of him and he reeled backwards gasping for breath.
MBCE Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 Seeing Arrowhawk's condition, the man laughed again. "You heroes always think you're so tough. Built to wipe out everything that stands in your way. Well I've got news for you, buddy. This city has had enough of your kind running around interfering with our business!" The man brings his fist right onto Arrowhawk's chin.
Ecalsneerg Posted October 18, 2008 Author Posted October 18, 2008 Just as Arrowhawk caught his wind again, the fist smashed into his chin... or would have, had he not instinctively jerked his head back so it caught a glancing hit on his chin. "Had enough? Why? Scared of getting beat on some more?" laughed Arrowhawk, bringing his fist forwards in a single vicious strike, ignoring the pain in his stomach for now.
MBCE Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 Arrowhawk's blow was well placed, hitting the man in the face. Unfortunately, the blow was unable to affect him. "Talk. All talk. You already look like you're going to fall flat on your face. Your punches don't even have anything left in them anymore. You're done hero." The man brings his fist around again, connecting once more. "Soon, we'll have everything we need to set our plans in motion and you'll be the first casualty!"
Ecalsneerg Posted October 20, 2008 Author Posted October 20, 2008 Arrowhawk took the hit and kept going undeterred. "And your punches are clearly very strong," mocked the vigilante, delivering a quick jab which was easily dodged.
MBCE Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 The man stepped back from the blow and activated his light pack. As he gained altitude, he aimed his wrist blaster at Arrowhawk. "I grow weary of this. Its time you drop, hero." With his blaster raised, he fired at Arrowhawk, hitting again. He landed on the second floor out of reach of Arrowhawk.
Ecalsneerg Posted October 20, 2008 Author Posted October 20, 2008 Ducking, the blast hit his shoulder causing him to wince as it went numb. "I'm Arrowhawk," spat the costumed adventurer, "Feel free to engage me at range." A look of defiance on his face, he clutched at his side and lurched towards where his bow lay.
