Geez3r Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 If it matters, Red Star's action is readied until a clear line of sight, ie: no cover, or concealment, exist between him and Grab, he'll miss of course, but if it matters how and when he'll miss.
Dr Archeville Posted February 11, 2009 Author Posted February 11, 2009 In the interests of moving this along, I'm going to go ahead and treat Shinken's thwack as a crit (for +20 damage!). Toptomcat Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 So Moira isn't Divine yet as of this thread?
Moira Morley Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 Yes, Moira is stil Moira until January Question: Does Well Informed work on player characters?
Dr Archeville Posted February 11, 2009 Author Posted February 11, 2009 Question: Does Well Informed work on player characters? Yes, since Gather Info isn't an interaction skill that influences someone's reaction. Do be aware that Well-Informed works on the concept that you've been using Gather Info to, well, gather info about someone. And, like any other use of Gather Info, unless you take -20 on the check, the target will know you've been asking lots of questions about (or overhearing lots of info about) them.
Moira Morley Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 Isn't Well Informed just a knowledge check based on Gather Information? You're Well Informed, you don't have to ask someone else :P
Moira Morley Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 D'OH! It actually helps if I comprehend what someone is saying before I answer them. I'm sorry. The reason I ask is because heroes and villains live their lives pretty much in the public eye.
Geez3r Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 Well you know about Red Star at the very least. He's got the fame complication because it is so easy to learn about him. He's been in comercials, doesn't have a secret ID, and he even up keeps his own blog flat out telling anyone and everyone about his exploits.
Toptomcat Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 Shinken is equally public. He's the corporate mascot for a gigantic military contractor, Ares Macrotechnology, demoing their battlesuit technology for the public at large.
Dr Archeville Posted February 12, 2009 Author Posted February 12, 2009 But Shinken's id is secret, and considering the likely source of most of her info -- the loose lips and half-overheard shady dealings of the patrons at her bar -- Moira wouldn't know that lil' tidbit.
Toptomcat Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 Moria thinks Shinken is offering her a job as a superhero? That's an amusing misunderstanding, especially as she's destined to be divinely empowered in no time at all. The idea was that he'd find some position in Ares for her, but let's roll with it for now. You haven't *said* anything that would make him correct you, after all.
Moira Morley Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Well, she is already divinely empowered, she just doesn't know that it's a god thing yet. She just thinks her strength is a "powered human" thing and the charisma is something natural :P
Toptomcat Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009  Oh. I didn't know that. I assumed from your post in the Timeline thread and the fact that you didn't lay into the bouncing baddie with all of your 36 Strength that you weren't yet empowered. That'll be an interesting interview. "Well, what are your qualifications?" "I make Helen of Troy look like the Elephant Man, and I can bench-press a van."
Moira Morley Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 "I find it very easy to get along with everyone. People find me very approachable. I also crush a human skull like a grape" :D
Ecalsneerg Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 Then what happens when you crush a grape?
Shadowboxer Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 You and I have some past history with Hieronymus King, don't we? Pursuing that might be interesting. I agree. I would be into pursuing that story again. :)
Moira Morley Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 Wait, was all that waiting for me? I thought Shinken was going to respond before me
Shadowboxer Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 I was under the impression you guys were returning to the store. I'm just going to come to you instead.
Bendigeidfran Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 I just couldn't pass the opportunity really. That and I couldn't find any other chance to post, since I left the store.
Dr Archeville Posted March 5, 2009 Author Posted March 5, 2009 Heh heh heh. By the way, in case everyone's not already heard, Moira is away for a while. She's moving, and not sure when she'll be reliably back online.
Toptomcat Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 What was it precisely that I did that you disliked? The only action of your characters' that I narrated was looking down when he felt something odd touching his leg, which is so naturally reflexive that I thought it was pretty reasonable.
Bendigeidfran Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 I didn't dislike it. I just thought that you might want to ask first, so I'll let it slide this time.
Ecalsneerg Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 Thing is, you did a similar thing by not letting him react to you feinting a kick at his head.
