Amelia
Fire: Basically out at this point, thanks to Dead Head. Grim Diddle: Standard Action: Attack Strix with Paralyze. Strix is flat-footed, since he's grappling, and he's at -4 Defense on top of that from All-Out Attacking and Charging, so his Defense is +0. Grim Diddle's Attack roll (DC10): 11. Just barely. Strix's Will save (DC19): 25. He saves. End of round. Woodchuck Man's grapple check: 19. Strix's grapple check: 27. Woodchuck Man is still Pinned. Standard Action: He attacks Strix. Attack roll (DC10): 22. He hits. Strix's Toughness save (DC23): 21. He takes another Injury. Ethan Pfeffner: Move Actions to keep up with Dead Head. Fratboy #2: Still dead. Fratboy #3: Still dying. Fratboy#4: Still dead. Fratboy #5-6: More full actions to move all-out away. [Other]: At the start of their turn, Mister Strix regenerates the Injury they'd previously inflicted. Standard Action: Mind Reading against Strix. Mind Reading check: 9. Strix save against that even on a "1". Mister Strix: At the start of his turn, his Defense jumps back up (though he's still flat-footed against everyone except the person he's grappling), and he becomes Fatigued. Standard Action: He makes another Grapple check to strengthen his hold. Strix's grapple check: 29. Woodchuck Man's grapple check: 26. He's still Pinned, but he isn't Bound. Woodchuck Man would normally get a new save at +1 to end the effects of the Lasting Nauseate and Mind Reading, but Strix used another Standard Action, so he's just saving at the original DC, one save against both since they're Linked. Woodchuck Man's Will save: 7. Strix's Mind Reading check: 13. Woodchuck Man is Helpless from the Nauseate, and Strix's probe gets another question. Dr Archeville
Beginning of Round: Become exhausted from having used Extra Effort last round while fatigued. Reaction: Spend HP to nix that. Still fatigued. Move Action: Carry Homeless Guy out to end of alley. Free Action: Drop 'im. Free Action: Extra Effort to surge to gain another Move Action. Will become exhausted at beginning of next round. Reaction: Spend HP for a Heroic Feat, a new AP off his Necromancy Array. Healing 32 (“C’mon Back Now, Y’Hear”; Extra: Resurrection [up to 32 minutes]; Flaws: Distracting, Limited [Resurrection only], Tiring; Power Feat: Split Attack) {17/17} Full Round Action: Use that new power to resurrect the two dead frat boys. Splitting the ranks equally, so they'll both get a +16 bonus. Now they need to make a CON check, DC 20 -- with the aforementioned bonus. Succeed, they become disabled & unconscious. Fail, and the remain dead & Dead Head can't try again. And I believe splitting it like that means he'll get hit by the Tiring Flaw twice, skipping over exhausted and going straight to unconscious. Grumble sez no, so he just goes to exhausted (but due to his use of extra effort, will become unconscious at beginning of next round). 0 HP, Unharmed, Exhausted (will be Unconscious at beginning of next round). Amelia
Fratboy Constitution checks (DC20): 25, 29. They both come back to life. Dead Head gets a Hero Point. Grim Diddle attacks Strix again with his Paralyze effect. Attack roll (DC14): 11. Even with Strix flat-footed, he misses. Next round: Woodchuck Man: DC18 Will save to break free from the Nauseate effect, at +1: 8. He's still Helpless. On his turn, Strix regenerates the Injury he'd inflicted. Ethan Pfeffner, Fratboy #1: Since he's Intimidated, he'll delay his actions to do what Dead Head tells him to do. Fratboys #2-4: Unconscious (but breathing!). Strix: Free Action: Maintain the grapple. Move Action: Move out of his current alley back toward Dead Head and into the original alley, dragging the Woodchuck Man along. Since the Woodchuck Man is Helpless, he doesn't get to resist. Strix has more than enough Strength and Speed. Standard Action: He'll renew his grapple and the Nauseate + Mind Reading. Strix's Mind Reading check: 16. Woodchuck Man's Will save: 9. Not enough to beat the Nauseate or the Mind Reading. Strix gets another question: "Then who did?" Dr Archeville
Beginning of Round: Become unconscious from having used a Tiring effect last round while exhausted. 1 HP. Reaction: Spend HP to nix that. Still exhausted. 0 HP now. Move Action: Crawl over to Fratboy #3 (the one that's still dying). Standard Action: Attempt to stabilize him. 1d20+3: 17 [1d20=14] w00t EDIT: -4 to not having medical equipment, so that's a 13 -- FAIL! Free Action: Ask Pfeffner for help. Uninjured, Exhausted, 0 HP. Amelia
Pfeffner's delayed action goes off, and Dead Head is now in such a seemingly vulnerable position that I'm going to fiat his Intimidation of Pfeffner going away, and Pfeffner's going Hostile again. Dead Head gets a Hero Point for the setback. Dead Head's Defense is +4 (DC14), Pfeffner gets +4 to hit a Prone target in melee, he gets a -2 attack penalty for still being Shaken, and Dead Head suffers -3 Defense for being Exhausted, so Pfeffner's final target number with his +0 bonus is DC9. Ethan Pfeffner's Attack roll (DC9): 7. He misses. At the bottom of the round, Grim Diddle is up. Move Action: Follow Strix and the Woodchuck Man around the corner, where he sees Dead Head lying prone with the unconscious fratboys and Ethan Pfeffner standing there. Standard Action: He attacks Ethan with his Drain Constitution power. Attack roll (DC10): 17. He hits. Ethan Pfeffner's Fortitude save (DC19): 1. Ethan Pfeffner loses 9 points of Constitution, putting him at Con 1 (-5). End of round. Initiative & Conditions Summary Woodchuck Man: 27, Pinned, Sickened, Nauseated, Helpless Ethan Pfeffner, Fratboy #1: 20, Bruised, Injured, Shaken, Drained Constitution (10 > 1) Fratboy #2: 20, Bruised, Injured, Staggered, Disabled, Unconscious, Shaken, Prone Fratboy #3: 20, Bruised x2, Injured x2, Staggered, Disabled, Unconscious, Dying, Shaken, Prone Fratboy #4: 20, Bruised x3, Injured x3, Staggered, Disabled, Unconscious, Shaken, Frightened, Prone Fratboy #5: 20, Shaken, Frightened, Panicked Fratboy #6: 20, Shaken, Frightened, Panicked [Other]: 19, Unharmed Mister Strix: 12, 0HP, Fatigued, Grappling Dead Head: 11, 1HP, Exhausted Fire: Out Grim Diddle: 4, Unharmed Homeless Man: -, Helpless, Bruised, Injured Woodchuck Man: Still Nauseated to the point of Helplessness. Ethan Pfeffner, Fratboy #1: Move Action x2: He moves 60ft away from Grim Diddle. Fratboys #2-4: Unconscious. Mister Strix: Free Action: Maintain the grapple. Standard Action: He'll renew his grapple and the Nauseate + Mind Reading. Strix's Mind Reading check: 11. Woodchuck Man's Will save: 15. Woodchuck Man is still Helpless from the Nauseate effect, but he's managed to kick Strix out of his mind. Move Action: None. Dead Head is up again. Link to comment
Dr Archeville
Heh, yeah. I saw an opportunity for body horror, I took it. A reminder for the future: Dead Head does have Prone Fighting, so Pfeffer would not have gotten that +4 bonus to hit him. (He missed anyway, so that point's moot.) It also means he doesn't suffer penalties for making attacks while prone, and can crawl at half speed. (Well, one-quarter speed at the moment, since he's exhausted.) Beginning of Round: Uninjured, Exhausted, 1 HP. Free Action: Change Necromancy Array to the Enhanced Anatomic Separation/Flight setting. Free Action: Remove head. Move Action: "Throw" head/have head fly ~50 ft. towards Grim Diddle. Standard Action: Bite Grim Diddle 1d20+9: 13 [1d20=4] EDIT: -3 for exhaustion, so 10. I'm re-rolling. Burning that last HP. 1d20+9: 16 [1d20=7] -3 for exhaustion, but +10 b/c the roll was <11, so the total is (16-3+10) 23! I've a feeling that'll hit, which will call for a DC 22 19 Toughness save. Also: Reaction: Grapple (since I now have Improved Grab/Grapple/Pin) as his mighty undead jaws latch on. Factoring in -3 to attack and -6 to STR from exhaustion, his Grapple bonus will be (+18 -3 -3) +12. 1d20+12: 30 [1d20=18] I think he's on there. End of Round: Uninjured, Exhausted, 0 HP. Amelia
Grim Diddle's Toughness save (DC19): 19. He makes it exactly. Grim Diddle's Grapple check (DC30): 27. He fails, but not by 5+, so he's only Pinned, not Bound. Some weird luck he's having there. Grim Diddle: Move Action: He tries to Escape the grapple. Grim Diddle's Grapple check (at -4 because of Dead Head's Improved Pin): 17. Dead Head can match that on a roll of "1". Standard Action: He tries to use his Drain Constitution power on Dead Head. Dead Head is Immune to Fortitude effects (though Grim Diddle doesn't know that yet), so it automatically fails. End of round. Initiative & Conditions Summary Woodchuck Man: 27, Pinned, Sickened, Nauseated, Helpless Ethan Pfeffner, Fratboy #1: 20, Bruised, Injured, Shaken, Drained Constitution (10 > 1) Fratboy #2: 20, Bruised, Injured, Staggered, Disabled, Unconscious, Shaken, Prone Fratboy #3: 20, Bruised x2, Injured x2, Staggered, Disabled, Unconscious, Dying, Shaken, Prone Fratboy #4: 20, Bruised x3, Injured x3, Staggered, Disabled, Unconscious, Shaken, Frightened, Prone Fratboy #5: 20, Shaken, Frightened, Panicked Fratboy #6: 20, Shaken, Frightened, Panicked [Other]: 19, Unharmed Mister Strix: 12, 0HP, Fatigued, Grappling Dead Head: 11, 0HP, Exhausted Fire: Out Grim Diddle: 4, Pinned Homeless Man: -, Helpless, Bruised, Injured Woodchuck Man: Still Helpless. Ethan Pfeffner: Two more move actions to run the hell away. The Drain Con has Slow Fade on it, so he's not getting any back anytime soon. Fratboys #2-4: Still Unconscious. [Other]: Free Action: Use Communication. Mister Strix: Free Action: Maintain the grapple. Free Action: Extra Effort to Mind Read again. He'll be Exhausted on his next turn. Standard Action: Mind Read + Nauseate again. Mind Reading check: 26. Woodchuck Man's Will save: 5. He fails against both effects by 15+, so the counter on Helpless resets, and Strix gets another question. "Who set the homeless people on fire?" Free Action: Release the grapple. Move Action: Move to Dead Head. Free Action: Talk. Dead Head is up. Link to comment
Dr Archeville
Free Action: Release Grim Diddle from grapple. Move Action: Body gets up from prone. Move Action: Body moves towards Grim Diddle. Uninjured, Exhausted, 0 HP Link to comment
Amelia
Dead Head gets a Hero Point for the crazy-awesomeness of using his head as a projectile and then initiating a grapple with it. We're out of combat rounds now. Link to comment
