Barnum Posted March 22, 2008 Author Posted March 22, 2008 And I'm glad to be here as well, and I might as well add that I found my way here through the link in your Signature over on the Atomic Thinktank. This conversation reminds me that I need to start a "Where did you get your username?" thread. :D
Orlando Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 Hello all, I am a veteran at RPGs but merely an apprentice to PBEM (I've played them over six years, but I know those who can post much, much better.) I work as an armed guard in the SF Bay Area. I am a lifetime student, and love to read, comics, college textbooks, classics, you name it. My good friend, a member of my writer's group, suggested this site as we were discussing getting our weekly M&M game back up. I like what I see, I think I'm going to have a lot of fun here.
nareik123 Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 Hi, I am also new to MnM. I am currently in my secondary school/college. I am in year 10. I am a frequent visitor to the gym, but too young to use the proper machines. I hate repetition and I am a critic. My best skill is Marine Engineering.
Orlando Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 Don't be afraid. When my pistol is unneeded, I have a nigh-invulnerable lockbox for it. Also-no guns on the interwebs! So you are safe! A small welcome is better than none, and I'll take it! A brief question Barnum, do you intend to attend Techcon this coming weekend? George RR Martin will be there, looks pretty good. It's in your VA neck of the woods. A bientot! :super:
cosmicarus Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 Welcome Orlando! Hope you enjoy your time here What sort of character(s) were you looking at playing?
Orlando Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 I am planning cosmic PL10 villain. He will loosely be modeled on the Adam Warlock archvillan The Magus. My hero PL6 concept is The Reactionary, a diy vigilante who is a great believer in the power of duct tape and junk yards. I may use the Prodigy template in building him.
cosmicarus Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 Sounds great! Look forward to seeing them both.
Veiled Malice Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 And I welcome you as well, good sir! Hope your stay here is eventful! ...The Reactionary? :? Is he on NPR? :)
Bendigeidfran Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 Finally got around to do this... I'm a student up in Sweden, my father is a teacher at the school, therefore my nickname is "Lärarsonen" literally meaning "Teacher's son." I also happen to be Nyrath's little brother, hence why I'm here. He introduced me to all this. :| I don't have any created heroes or villains of my own, so Nyrath makes some for me to use. Then again, it's things that I approve of playing, though.
Veiled Malice Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 Indeed, welcome! Nice avatar, by the way. What's it from? Is that Elfen Lied?
Sugarrush Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 Then I guess it's time for me to show my face, hahaha! I'm a student, not much more to tell there is there? Well, I role-play (sometimes roll-play) and LARP whenever I can, and I like it. Few might remember me as Sugarrush from ATT, tipped of by my kind GM to come here. Well, that's it, basicly.
VideoGeek Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 ¡Hola! My name is Bill, but I am secretly the illustrious VideoGeek! I'm new to MnM, but not PbP, and certainly not to RP. I started playing with ADnD 2nd ed., then DnD 3.0/3.5, then Aberrant, then Marvel Supers, then Star Wars D20, until one day, something magical happened. I was partaking in my webcomic habit, and happened to read Dom's rant on megatokyo. He mentioned this game his group likes to play, and I looked into it, and thought it sounded interesting. Then there was a chicken or something, ADD kicked in, and I forgot. Then I went to the city a few weeks later and saw a hard copy of the book, it all rushed back, and I immediately bought it. Three guesses what the book was.... Boring story aside, before anyone asks, the name didn't actually come from anywhere, I just needed a net handle, and I was way into anime and my Xbox at the time, and I'm about the biggest geek I know (IRL, anyway), so there it was. Since then, steady RPing groups have come and gone, and I've dropped/flunked out of two schools (I'm not a moron, just a terrible student.), and living in the boonies as I do, there's no face to face opportunity around, so PbP is my friend. I devour comics like candy, game whenever possible, and otherwise am very lazy. I work in a payday loan office here, which pays well (by local standards) and doesn't require that I do much actual work. Just bought a house, and have been completely overwhelmed by the amount of work and money having your own house requires. Found this site by way of Atomic Think Tank, where I haven't actually posted yet, either. Working on a telekinetic array today, and if that goes well, I'll be looking to join a game here shortly. Comments, questions, or insults can be sent to aninnocentchild@gmail.com to be laughed at heartily.
Shadowraptor Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 Well I'm kinda famous for my long posts, so here goes: My name is Marcel, I live in the Netherlands. I'm asuming most people who roleplay are somewhat intelligent, so I'm guessing at least some people have heard about the movie "A Bridge Too Far" which is related to a WW2 story. Well this story takes place in Arnhem, the city I live in, so that should give you some idea of where I live. My hobbies are roleplaying (duh), watching dvd's, drinking wodka or whiskey, and cuddling my beautiful girlfriend. :-D I've done various roleplayen games, most of which were Vampire and Exalted, which are both roleplaying game by White-Wolf as most of you will know. I started developing an interest in roleplaying games, and as such have also come across mutants and masterminds, which immediately appealed to me because of the diversity with which you can create your characters. Currently checking out this website in order to create a character.. Also, I've been working on my own roleplaying system for some time now. I'm not going to post any spoilers or make any commercials about it here, because I don't think it's proper, but I invite anyone to check out my profile and take a look.. ;-) Guess I will talk to you guys soon..
Barnum Posted April 21, 2008 Author Posted April 21, 2008 *wishes she had someone to cuddle* Welcome!
Veiled Malice Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 How about these guys? Not only can you cuddle with them, but you can drink them too! :D
Barnum Posted April 21, 2008 Author Posted April 21, 2008 How about these guys? Not only can you cuddle with them, but you can drink them too! Cute!
thelazyblank Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 Hello! Being new around here, I guess I should introduce myself. I'm known on the internet as thelazyblank, or Blank for short. I've been a rabid MnMite since about a year and a half ago, except it's hard to find games online. I also play some MMOs (City of Heroes, especially), and do all sorts of nerd things. Currently, I'm going back to school to try and become a teacher (High School Biology). I've just started this term, but hope to finish in the next year or two. I don't know what else to put here. :)
Cotoloti Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 Well I'm new here so here's a bit about me: I am involved in tech support and general know-how. Mostly I fake it. Strangely it seems to work. I believe there is some sort of magic involved. I can also draw large static charges very easily. It is not uncommon for visible Sith like lightning bolts to arc off my fingertips in the winter. If I wore wool socks on a fuzzy rug I WOULD DIE! I'm very happily into the severalth year of marriage and have two little children who are currently being cute and sweet and I can't even smell anything burning. Has anyone seen the cats? I've been rping since I was ten though at the time we didn't know what the DM was supposed to do so we both just hunkered over the map and followed through the adventure and fought the monsters. It did make finding the traps a bit simple as they were marked right where everyone could see. I fell out of gaming for a few years, but had to get back into it when The Incredibles came out. I fell back in love with superheroes. Recommendation - watch Word Girl on PBS. super powers, evil villains, sarcasm and a monkey side-kick all that and vocabulary building to boot.
