Zhenschina-voin

Klara had thought enough battles to know that sometime the battle didn’t go your way, the trick was to survive the blows to achieve the blows that's would leave to success. Not that it wasn’t frustrating, especially when filled with the adrenaline of combat full of job of the challenge of the fight.

So it was as her blow missed the werewolf and then she had to dodge the blow from the transformed man. Yes it was frustrating but at least she was still in the fight, and that meant a chance for victory.

Dee took another brief moment to assess the current situation. So far Klara was keeping the larger threat busy, even if she was not making much headway on subduing it. The rest of them were engaging the "little pigs" but again had not removed any from the combat yet.

<Unless anyone has a better idea to consider, let’s continue trying to drop their numbers and then concentrate on the wolf.> She mentally communicated to her teammates.

The Englishwoman then sent another mental blast at the little pig that had earlier healed the wolf. This time the pig reeled more from the psychic assault.

The First Little Pig didn't like to fight, but still it stood, with the shadow beast by it's side. It would squeal, it would scream, but little did it help, so instead, it tried to headbutt Shadowborne with it's little piggy head.

The Second Little Pig stayed close to the wolf. It might huff, it might puff, but the wolf it knew, everyone else could hardly be a friend. It swung at the woman, tall and proud and mighty, and but alas the little piggy, was perhaps a bit too flighty.

The Third Little Pig shook his head, rattled from the blows to his mind and his self. He shook, trying to regain his senses.

Muirne felt herself losing control to the same force as she had in the survival class, like having her hands pried off of the controls of her body.

Be still, Modor1. I shall keep them safe.

Modor!?

Muirne watched as, unperturbed by her question, the force directed her body forwards in an attack against the pig in front of her. Claws of darkness stretch forward to catch at nothing but air. Muirne felt the annoyance wash over her from the creature as it glared at it's opponent.

"Why won't you just fall down!?"

Mette was starting to get seriously pissed off. That pig was just standing there, taking her hits, shaking it's head and... then just getting right back to it. What the hell were these things, anyway? Something about this entire thing felt off. More off than people randomly transforming into fairy tale creatures should, at least.

Moving forward, Mette kicked the pig in the face. These might be normal people under all... that. They really had to try to end this, but... it just didn't want to fall down.

As any warrior knew a missing your target was almost as important as striking your foe. A smart fighter watched and learned how there opponent moved and would eventually begin to spot opening in there moves and use that to there advantage. And Klara had a lot of decades of experience of many conflicts.

And she had spotting a little tell, something she used to her advantage changing her direction at the last second allowing her to strike a solid blow. It was hard to tell with all the fur but she didn’t feel that she’d done any amount of damage.

Maybe we’re looking at this all wrong? These are creatures right out of Grimm’s, maybe we can use that knowledge to defeat them?”

She wasn’t quite sure how right now, but it was an option to explore.

Dee could not help but agree with Klara's observation that they might be going about things the wrong way. <That might be true.> The Englishwoman responded mentally to everyone on the mental connection she had established. <For the moment at least, I want to make sure the one healing the others is out of the picture.>

She then sent yet another blast of red psychic energy at the pig that she had focused on.

The Big Bad Wolf looked at Zhenschina-voin. If anything, it just seemed annoyed by her attack. It lunged forward, it's jaws opening into a massive array of fangs that bit down around her torso, before attempting to pull her up off the ground, effectively holding her in place as it started to shake her around like a piece of meat.

The Third Little Pig squealed and grasped it's head, then fell to it's knees, before falling over to it's stomach. As Synapse watched it, it's entire body seemed to break, like glass shattering into tiny little pieces, revealing the unconscious older man from before. Aside from being unconscious, he seemed unharmed, despite the hits that he had been dealt. The small shards of glass dissolved almost immediately.

The First Little Pig seemed annoyed by not being able to hurt Shadowborne. It pulled back a step, and then it squealed! The noise was excrutiating, almost paralyzing, even Shadowborne was caught in it.

The Second Little Pig moved around the Wolf, making sure to stay out of sight from the rest.

The Creature snarled as it's shadowy body slithered through the reverberating squealing shockwave, unperturbed physically but thoroughly irritated nonetheless. Drawing deeply of it's power, it could feel its Modor's concern as the darkness began to swirl around it. She knew this power, and so did it. The Creature screamed back at the pig, a warbling cry that could come from no human lungs and did not seem to come from any specific part of it.

Alongside that cry came the gathered power, grasping pieces of darkness seeking watching eyes to steal courage and will. Pride welled up in it as it congratulated itself on it's attack, thinking of how their mental defences would now be weakened even as it stared the hated pig in the eyes.

The Creature wanted to eat the pig, soul and all.

The pig just sort of dissolved and turned back into the person it had been before? That was... that was weird, right?

Mette looked down at it for a moment, then back to the wolf. They had to do something about the wolf, right?

She was distracted for a second as Muirne screamed at the pig she was dealing with and, honestly? Yeah. Yeah, that was a good idea.

"Zed! Coming in!" she yelled at Karla, then leapt towards the wolf.

Mette drew in her breath mid jump and then, when she landed, she screamed right in the face of the wolf and the pig, pushing the pig back while the wolf held it's hands above it's ears.

Whilst fighting the wolf she’d noticed that the newly transformed man wasn’t overly solid on his legs, what with a wolves legs working different from humans even bipedal ones. It wasn’t a massive weakness but enough to give her an advantage.

So Klara steps as if telegraphing a punch only to step to the side and sweep out the wolves left leg, the one he seemed to favour less. The beast wasn’t a trained warrior and fell for the trick crashing down as her powerful blow swept out is leg. There her luck ran out as her elbow blow went wide, the beast going down quicker than she expected.

The wolf fell and yelped in confusion as Zhenschina-voin's elbow flew over it's head.

It quickly rolled around and lunged once more, swinging clawed fingers towards the woman that had dared to attack it.

Dee watched as one of the little pigs was finally removed as a threat. She frowned slightly as she watched what appeared to be glass break away from the old man before dissolving away. <That is one down at least.> She mentally relayed to the others <The person that was changed does not appear to be injured.> She added as she examined the person briefly.

Then one of the little pigs let out a screech that washed over the Englishwoman and the rest of the team. Thankfully Dee managed to shake off the effect.

<Let's keep trying to par them down. Mette help out Murine.> she transmitted. Then Dee focused on the little pig that was currently not engaged with anyone. A red beam of psychic energy shot out to strike the pig, who instantly froze in place unable to move, at least for the moment.

The first little pig didn't like what it saw, a mess, a monster, a foe to behold. Scared and afraid, it squealed for it's life, a yell and a shout, oh what a terrible sound. The wolf it yelped, and covered it's ears, the sound was too terrible for it to bear.

The second little pig was frozen in place. It had been screamed at, by pig and mermaid alike, and someone had been in it's mind. It was not having a good time, no not at all, able to do naught but observe.

The Creature growled gutturally as the pig avoided it's attack by closing it's eyes. Instead, it decided to change tactics. Or... Revert tactics. It expanded it's body and added numerous grasping arms to the mix as it's snarling reached a fever pitch, becoming a roar at the same time as a false pounce using it's elasticity. Stopping itself in the middle of the pounce it shifted, the many limbs becoming raking claws that shredded through the pig's hide.

"But..!" Mette started to protest at Dee's command, then, with a grudging sigh, accepted. "Alright, fine!

She had wanted to fight the wolf some more, and Muirne was doing fine, even if she looked kind of scary at the moment, but, y'know... that was kind of her deal, right?

The Little Mermaid leapt away from the big bad wolf, heading directly towards the pig that Muirne was fighting, raking her claws across it. She pulled her arm back mid-jump.

"SB, move!"

She crashed directly into the pig, hitting it as hard as she could the moment she made contact, then quickly turned to give Muirne a thumbs up.

"Nice, we got it!"

Klara took a few seconds to recover her breath, she rarely struggled in a fight but today she wasn’t fighting at her best. Maybe she was getting old at two hundred and fifty.

Shouldn’t it be you and not me that is huffing and puffing?” she quipped at the wolf

The she returned to fighting the transformed wolf man, her at the last minutes she saw that her blow would have thrown her off balance and adjusted throwing off her opponent and catching him a very solid blow.

Guess I blew your house down huh?”

It wasn’t yet down but she could tell he was close, and the number of foes were rapidly dwindling.

The wolf yelped, struggling back. The blow had clearly hit hard, as the wolf shook it's head, trying to remain standing.

It's lips pulled back from it's muzzle in a snarl, before stopping for a second, pawing at it's ear.

Curiously, aside from the way it moved, it did not seem hurt at all. No blemishes, no cuts, no visible bruises.

<You have just been waiting to us that pun haven’t you?> Dee stated over the mental link with the others as Klara clearly injured and dazed the wolf with a solid hit.

With the last remaining pig still paralyzed, the Englishwoman focused back on the wolf. She unleased a blast of red psychic energy at the wolf’s mind, which sent it staggering backward before it collapsed to the ground.

<Alright, just the last pig to deal with. The we get to sort out what all of this about.>

The wolf grabbed it's head and howled to the sky, as it was sent tumbling back. The moment it hit the ground, it seemed to shatter, like glass being smashed by a rock, leaving behind the man that it had been before.

For it's part, the second little pig was stunned, paralyzed and dazed. It was just completely impossible for it to move or even think of what it would do, and without even a house of straw to keep it safe.

Aoife made what could be charitably considered an approving noise towards Mette's contribution, her claws sucking in small motes of darkness and growing in size into large, pitch dark cudgels as she readied them against the pig. Leaving very little in the way of her own defence she lashed out, smashing the blunt clubs into her opponent repeatedly.

Reaching out over Synapse's telepathic communications, Aoife spoke: The pig is nearly dealt with. It should be defeated in short order.

The last little pig stood in shock, it's thick stubby fingers moving to its cut, holding it up... and then it felt forward, face first into the ground.

It's very shape seemed to shatter into glass, leaving behind the woman that it had been before.

Everything was quiet, the chaos was done. For a brief moment, as the Vanguard stood, everything was quiet and still.

Mette paused for a moment, holding her breath. Then she was by the side of the woman that had just fallen, quickly checking on her.

"She's alright!" she happily shouted to the others, kneeling by the woman to support her head.

"What was that?" she asked no one in particular.

Aoife surveyed what had been a battlefield mere moments before, satisfied that she'd defeated her opponent. Still, she surveyed the area looking for more potential enemies until Mette called out. Muirne would be stopping to help, but that was outside of her wheelhouse. Instead she chose to keep searching for more of the glass shards. Her shadows flickered as she came to the conclusion and heard Mette's follow up.

I don't know what happened, but those glass shards are definitely related. I cannot help as I am, so I will look out for more of them instead. She replied over the telepathic network, being aware of how frightening her form's voice was to civilians from Muirne's heroics.
