Brown Dynamite Posted March 22, 2021 Posted March 22, 2021 GM Robbing banks is not the profitable business it once was. In the daytime you're more likely to leave with a bullet than leave with cash. And even if you did leave with cash, the banks in Bedlam aren't large enough to hold enough money to retire on. It just wasn't good money. What it was however was noisy. Especially in the dead of night, Hardwick Park was filled with the sound of an alarm blaring through the streets. Coupled with the unmistakable sound of glass shattering. A crowd slowly forming outside of the bank and actively egging on the crime being committed. And at the center of the commotion were the four thieves. They were Latina women armed with a crowbar, a steel chain, a hockey stick, and what appeared to be inflatable or enlarged boxing gloves. Boldly, they dared to steal from BMF National bank. A small local bank with only three locations. And each one was within Mara territory.
Nerdzul Posted March 25, 2021 Posted March 25, 2021 Bedlam wasn’t exactly a glamorous vacation spot to spend a weekend, wasn’t it? In fact, Luke was there just to run an errand for his parents. One that involved a distant uncle that pretty much no one in the Landers family could stand in any way shape or form and after a short visit the young man could definitely see why. Perhaps mom wanted me to eat him. It was probably also not the safest place to walk around at night for a teenage boy, but then again… He was about to find a secluded spot where he could ‘change’ to fly back home when he heard a cacophony of alarms breaking the nocturne silence. Now, it wasn’t his town, or his business, but then again, what kind of hero would let this kind of things get in the way right? (Plus there was always the chance that he could get a reward? Maybe?) So he donned his costume, jumped on top of one of the buildings nearby. “Isn’t it a bit too late for a withdrawal?” He teased, using one of his illusion to carry his voice to the colorful group of bank robbers.
Tiffany Korta Posted March 25, 2021 Posted March 25, 2021 Liam Conner It had been a long day and the exorcism had not gone well, plus the car was still in the shop until a case really paid out, so Liam was the one who got to walk back to the office covered in slime. He wasn’t sure how it managed to remain when the swapped form and Rosa was being remarkably quiet on the matter. So they really wasn’t in the mood for trouble to start, so the sensible thing would be to stay in the crowd and let one of Bedlam’s (admittedly rare) heroes deal with the issue. But Liam wasn’t really the type to sit by and allow other to take risk, besides people could be hurt. He could feel the sigh from Rosa as he forced his way through the crowd, something that the slime made easier, and struck a pose like a Norse god in a trench-coat. “Can we skip the preamble and just surrender already? Its been one hella day!”
Dr Archeville Posted March 26, 2021 Posted March 26, 2021 Dead Head Strix had been missing for some time, off on some personal mission, so Dead Head had been pulling double duty in Bedlam. Though the revenant had only been in the city for a little under two years, the recent increase in his activity level had helped him grow more accustomed to it. In some ways, this was surprisingly easy: rot and decay, which permeated the city on so many levels, were things with which he was intimately familiar. But Bedlam always held surprises for the unwary. Tonight, the surprise came from something oddly familiar. A bank robbery? He shook his head in disbelief, you don't see many of those these days. Not even in Freedom, where crimes tend to be more- He paused, leaned forward a bit from his vantage point on the roof of a building across the street, wait, no guns? Oh, this is weird! I have got to get a closer look. He stepped off the roof, landing with a wet THUD onto the sidewalk across the street from the bank.
Brown Dynamite Posted October 9, 2021 Author Posted October 9, 2021 Hellhound Hellhound had heard the commotion. He had been suggesting to a dealer working for the Davalos family find a spot less convenient than Hardwick to sell his wares. Quite convincingly one would say the whole affair was going rather smashingly. That was until he heard actual smashing nearby. The dealer practically relieved himself as the bipedal man wolf took off on all fours towards the sound. From Óscar's perspective he was arrive on the scene. Which is how he liked to make a threatening entrance. What would have been a growl turned into a series of sputtering coughs as he tried to stop himself from expressing his surprise. There was an odor wafting through the air. He wasn't sure if it was the two taunting the four women inside the bank. The female robbers. The crowd circling around. Or maybe it was just taking to big of an inhale of that natural Bedlam smell. But, it was foul. It wasn't that Óscar couldn't speak while in his manwolf form. Heck, he could speak in his lupine form if he wanted. It just being a growling mass of fang and fury tended to carry a lot of weight in the conversation. But all that consideration for appearances had gone slightly out the window.
Brown Dynamite Posted October 9, 2021 Author Posted October 9, 2021 GM The crowd began whispering in hushed tones as people actually stepped forward to tell the robbers to stop. Four muscular women all snapped their heads in surprise from inside the bank as they were being taunted. Despite the complete lack of care they took into hiding their presence. People weren't exactly lining up to step in and stop crimes in Bedlam. The police sure weren't getting paid enough for this level of response time. Tilting into view one woman stepped forward. Their faces were all obscured by Balaclava ski masks. Their matching leather jacket and pants was equally masking in the dead of night. Even their dark combat boots didn't scream flashy. If it wasn't for the fact that they each had a grey shirt that had the words 'Con Furia' emblazoned on it, it'd be hard to identify them as members of the Los Furies. But here they were with their identification plastered across their chests. "Didn't you see the ATM. It's twenty four hour service." One of the robbers called out. A hockey stick pointed at the pair who had initially spoken. She walked out in a rather threatening manner before continuing. "How about you both go back home and sleep off this hella day. Or I'll make sure to nap ya real good." The sound of her boot crushing glass as she stepped out to smack her hockey stick over glass. The bank that they had broken into had a front facing curtain walling. At least at one point. But the entire wall, and not just the window pane but brick paneling and all, had been smashed open. The door was in shambles. And the bank vault had been dragged into the lobby in the small interval since the sounds of glass smashing could be heard. Sure the back window wasn't the most secure structure to begin with. But, as the other three robbers were armed with a crowbar, a steel chain, and a baseball bat. There was something about the scale of the damage that didn't add up. That was for those not as fortunate as Liam and Dead Head to instead have their senses bombarded by the sheer might of the magical presence this improvised weaponry was giving off.
Dr Archeville Posted October 13, 2021 Posted October 13, 2021 Dead Head No one seemed to have noticed Burt's swan dive off the opposite building, or his slow rise up from the ground. "Even if there weren't a robbery goin' on," he muttered to himself, "I doubt anyone woulda paid attention to one more body falin' off a buildin'. This city, I swear..." He shambled up behind Luke and Liam, looked between the two, then at the robbers. "Hooo," he held his right hand up to his temple and massaged it a bit, "y'all got some serious mojo in those sticks. Ya nab 'em from a sports museum? Some private collector?" He took a step forward, past the two heroes, "look, why don't ya just set 'em down and tell us where ya got 'em, hrm?"
Nerdzul Posted October 18, 2021 Posted October 18, 2021 (edited) On 10/10/2021 at 1:12 AM, Brown Dynamite said: "Didn't you see the ATM. It's twenty four hour service." "Touché." Luke chuckled as he admitted that it was a good comeback. "Somehow I don't think that's how you use it though." He remarked playfully. "Sorry, not gonna happen, too much of a night owl here." Annoyingly enough he didn't have a dragon pun for the situation. Lame. Whoa. Woah. Woah. Definitely not startled by the newcomer. Not at all. Obviously. Luke threw a puzzled glance toward Burt, but then bowed his head slightly to the newcomer Was he a local superhero? Must be right. "So magic hockey sticks. Cool. Cool... Got a few tricks on my own too, you know?" Luke grinned, before inhaling profusely, golden light surging from his chest and his eyes as he unleashed a wave of dragonfire to surround the crime scene. Or so it seemed at least, truth was, there is no way he was gonna risk using his flames in a crowded street, it was just an illusion, one that hopefully could be more convincing than words in defusing the situation. Tiffany Korta Posted November 1, 2021 Posted November 1, 2021 Liam ConnersIn a place like Bedlam one hero was pretty rare, two was almost unheard off. He guess technically three, but he didn’t feel like your classic superhero. Still he could maybe act as a go between to de-escalate the potentially violent situation. “Look your out numbered and probably out classed, how about you put down the fancy sticks and we’ll just call this a day?” This was very unlikely thing in a place like Bedlam, but you never know it might be the one in a million time that it would just work!
