Space, since the boat Blackstaff is in, the PanStar 3QH, has a mission of its own, a DC15 Social Skill (Bluff, Diplomacy, Intimidate) check will be necessary to convince the captain to change course.

I really wanted to use Bluff, but it just didn’t feel like the right skill. He has nothings to BS about right now, so… Diplomacy check: 7 Bluff wouldn’t have helped Still would have missed.

Spoiler For reference, this is what the Shadowcaster looks like. Minus the helicopter at the bow. @Spacefurry Feel free to pick how Blackstaff approaches the Temple of Dagon. Up front and openly, just Notice and Sense Motive. DCs of 15. If subtly and covertly, Stealth DC20 and Knowledge(Arcane Lore) @Supercape Your choice how to handle the fight Charles the valet is asking you to break up. If you just want to make them stop, narration is fine, if you want to learn more about what's going on, Bluff/Intimidate DC15, or Diplomacy DC20. DC25 Current Events to pick up on a vital future clue.

The rest of the tribe approach and challenge him, somehow knowing by sight that he's a magician, demanding a tribute of blood for the damage and lost life. DC20 Bluff check to persuade them he's going to do that, and escape safely to the surface. Failure means they attack, and Mariner and Torch do their work. If you want, Space, you may do something else, but that's the most obvious path. @Supercape Captain Cosmos can take 10, and recognizes one of the scufflers as Bellona Arex, daughter of notorious arms manufacturer Monty Arex. To say her personal net worth and fame eclipses just about everyone else's on the ship combined is no exaggerration. Now he just needs to keep more fights from breaking out, and head off further mischief. This is up to you. If you'd like to have him manifest Camp Counselor Buddy, go transdim and recalibrate the teens' shadows on the Macrozone, start a game of tag, organize work crews to try and repair the ship, or what have you, go for it. DC for interaction Skill checks will be Skill bonus +10 to get the kids onboard; for a Power check, DC15.

Ari Posted July 22, 2023 Author Posted July 22, 2023 @Supercape Buddy doesn't need his advanced senses to tell that, while the language itself isn't evil, it's invoking something very bad from another dimension, which may well be affecting the people on the boat. Maybe even the many versions of himself... @Spacefurry Christopher knows these are actually pretty bad ideas, especially the Agents' idea of using force against creatures that have been at active war with Atlantis for tens of thousands of years. More importantly, the stranded boat Shadowcaster is an active antagonizing presence, and the kids aboard in very serious danger they need protection from.
