Avenger Assembled Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Okay, joshie, we're waiting on you here.
Sandman XI Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 *bides his time waiting for Quark's darn program to load* :P
Pandorym Posted January 25, 2009 Author Posted January 25, 2009 That does seem to take a bit, doesn't it? I'll try and make sure everything's not over in the next six rounds, five when I get my post up.
Avenger Assembled Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 Ah...Annlynn wasn't supposed to see Avenger do that little stunt. He turned out the lights where they were, too, the better to keep her from noticing. If she thinks he has a superpower, she might just think he's a teleporter. Or just very very sneaky; Raven probably does that trick all the time in the comics.
Avenger Assembled Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 Oh, wait, I see what happened. I dropped the g, I didn't repeat the in. He said, "Goin' in through the ducts", not "Go in through the ducts." Your call on what she does, but Avenger's certainly going to come up with a better cover story if she gets confused and goes through the ducts.
Pandorym Posted January 26, 2009 Author Posted January 26, 2009 Ah... Well, that makes a lot more sense. I'll edit that section. thejoshie, I need to know what happened with the attempt to get rid of the snare. Make a roll for it and add your rank modifier; just post a link to it here, no need to edit your IC post.
Avenger Assembled Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 OK: Intimidate: Standard Action Move/close the furnace: Move Action Surge to Attack: (spend HP to cancel fatigue; extra effort to gain takedown attack) Given the darkness, I would say this qualifies as an unarmed sneak attack.
Dr Archeville Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Surge to Attack: (spend HP to cancel fatigue; extra effort to gain takedown attack) That's two uses of Extra Effort. You can only use Extra Effort once per round.
Avenger Assembled Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Really? OK, well, I'll just take the fatigue from surging and spend the HP to gain Takedown Attack, then.
Dr Archeville Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Oops, my mistake. Well, technically, Avenger's mistake Avenger said he'd use extra effort to gain Takdeodwn. Extra Effort can't be used that way (it can get Power Feats, but not regular Feats), but HPs can be used for that. And you can spend as many HPs as you have in a round. So you can use Extra Effort to Surge, use an HP to cancel the fatigue from that, and use a 2nd HP for "Heroic Feat" to gain Takedown Attack. If you have 2 HPs to spend, of course.
Avenger Assembled Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Okay, so I did the deed, lost my last HP, and am unfatigued? Good good. :)
Dr Archeville Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Did you have 2 HPs? If not, then you can be unfatigued but not gain Takedown, or be fatigued and gain Takdeown.
Avenger Assembled Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Sure, from holding back. Avenger is PL 9 at best on the offense, thanks to his secret identity.
Thejoshie Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Quite pathetic, but considering my lucky rolls as of late, I can't complain. :-p
Avenger Assembled Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 ...so I was unsuccessful in closing the furnace door or using Takedown Attack?
Thejoshie Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 Just need to remind our esteemed GM that an attack attempt is needed firts BEFORE the grapple check. Thank you, and good night.
Pandorym Posted January 29, 2009 Author Posted January 29, 2009 Heh, um... Congratulations! You... um... passed the test! Good job! I'll fix it right now. Avenger: I misinterpreted your post on the point of closing the furnace. I'll rework the whole thing accordingly. What do you mean Takedown Attack failed? Am I missing something obvious again? Once you answer this, I'll do a full overhaul of all the crap I messed up. May take me until tomorrow; sorry if that's the case.
Avenger Assembled Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Avenger hit those guys with Takedown Attack. Assuming they were all close enough together for the feat to work, he should have knocked out all the soldiers that failed their toughness save.
Pandorym Posted January 30, 2009 Author Posted January 30, 2009 Got it. Now redoing the post; please stand by. EDIT: Ok, everything should be fixed. Sorry again; if I still screwed up, or if I do so in the future, don't hesitate to tell me.
Avenger Assembled Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 OK, just so I don't mess things up: the minions are down, but the chief is still standing?
Pandorym Posted January 30, 2009 Author Posted January 30, 2009 One minion still stands; two of them had body armor, but only he made his save. The chief also stands.
Avenger Assembled Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 well, that was poorly done. Hopefully the unarmed attack that started the grapple took down the first minion, though.
Thejoshie Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Okay, sorry for the late reply. The Attack is successful. Here's the grapple defense.
Pandorym Posted February 2, 2009 Author Posted February 2, 2009 Natural 20! Very nice. Regrettably, Ned's grapple modifier is higher than yours. Do you mind if I use the old roll, here? Avenger, that's more than enough to take down the remaining minion, but Wolfe is going to be a bit harder than that.
Thejoshie Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Waste not, want not I suppose. Sure, why not? :-p That would mean we have ourselves a grappling contest, one of Yuki's weaknesses. Interested to see how this plays out...
