Supercape Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 For Spacefurry / Blackstaff Poncho / Golden Star will be joining soon!
Spacefurry Posted December 8, 2023 Posted December 8, 2023 Blackstaff using his Magical Awareness super sense. Let me know if you need a roll.
Spacefurry Posted December 13, 2023 Posted December 13, 2023 Gonna try a Knowledge, Arcane Lore check: 16 ouch. Probably not getting much from that.
Supercape Posted December 13, 2023 Author Posted December 13, 2023 Not much, no! Curses are done by Witches Witches do curses But nothing specific
Supercape Posted December 13, 2023 Author Posted December 13, 2023 I think its in the realms of "Heard of it / Rings a bell" but nothing specific.
Supercape Posted December 13, 2023 Author Posted December 13, 2023 that said, Blackstaff has a HQ with a (presumably arcane) library so he can take 20 on Arcane Lore and get a much higher result (by spending requisite hours)
Spacefurry Posted December 13, 2023 Posted December 13, 2023 I figured he could, but it would be rude to leave on the middle of the conversation (lol) After the meeting he can get Morrowind to help him with the research.
Supercape Posted December 27, 2023 Author Posted December 27, 2023 (edited) @Spacefurry if you wish, the blowback of the curse / divination mess can effect Blackstaff. Not worth an HP if its simply a matter of regaining consciousness or dusting off burnt clothes but may be fun. If you can think of something else that might cause complications (and HP) down the line, shout out. For instance, a temporary (or even permenant for the future) curse such as going blind in moonlight or something. As you may have guessed from the threat title, something Witch-Hag or Swamp related would make sense. Or he may develop PTSD of blizzards Or even just something silly like unable to wear hats. Entirely up to you - he can come out entirely unscathed if you wish (although narratively the power is considerable) Edited December 27, 2023 by Supercape
Spacefurry Posted January 11 Posted January 11 I’ll try a Well-Informed check at the mention of the Chuggers, just to see if Blackstaff has heard of them since they seem to have a rep for dealing with in artifacts. Gather Info: 20
Supercape Posted January 11 Author Posted January 11 Yes that works; Staff is aware of the Chuggers - they are pretty much as Armitage describes them, and with a bit of snooping Blackstaff could locate some of their haunts down south
Supercape Posted January 11 Author Posted January 11 (edited) Golden Star recalls reading about the Chuggers being more active recently but not much detail. Its not major news. Edited January 11 by Supercape
Spacefurry Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Gather Info: 21 Tempted to reroll but I’ll stand. If needed I can try again.
Supercape Posted January 18 Author Posted January 18 That will do nicely; If you are up to it, you can narrate asking around for the Chuggers HQ (which is essentially a chop shop near the docks) - will take about an hour.
Supercape Posted January 20 Author Posted January 20 Anyone want to go bluff / diplomacy / intimidate, feel free to make the rolls. no sense motive needed - the Chuggers clearly are guilty. They aint even pretending otherwise, they just arent admitting to anything!
Poncho Posted January 21 Posted January 21 I'm swinging Skill Mastery (Diplomacy) at them! That's a 22!
Supercape Posted January 22 Author Posted January 22 thats enough to turn them from Unfriendly to Indifferent (act as socially expected). So they wont be out to stab you, at least.
Supercape Posted January 27 Author Posted January 27 (edited) Blackstaff is not flatfooted. But we have an explosion of tentacles! The chugger minions are all grappled. Blackstaff and Golden Star This is an area snare attack. Reflex DC 18 to avoid area attack Reflex DC 18 or 14 to avoid the snare. -2 Penalty to Golden Star for being slightly less on the alert (for this round) Edited January 27 by Supercape
Poncho Posted January 28 Posted January 28 Uh oh. Reflex to Avoid: 1d20+4: 20 Oh. Cool! Uh, is this the type where we need two saves? Just in case! Reflex to Escape: 1d20+4: 14
Supercape Posted January 28 Author Posted January 28 Yeah two saves (unless you have evasion) So Golden Star avoids (the first save to lower the DC for the second save to DC 14) @Spacefurrycould you roll the second DC? (Its 14 now as you passed the Area: Reflex save)
Spacefurry Posted January 28 Posted January 28 Oops, sorry. Ref save: 15 Just passed again. Too, close.
