Dracostern Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Cerebral Iris was about to launch the pike within her telekinetic grip at the Omegadrone like one would throw a javelin, however she suddenly heard stomping nearby as close to her a giant appeared! Considering they were in an unknown timeline or dimension, and the fact that Iris had little idea as to what the Terminus forces could actually do she fell for the illusion as well. The young woman grunted before rushing out to the car her brother was hiding behind before spinning around and launching the Pike straight at the fake Crimson Katana's eye. ...only for it to not be effective. Regardless her eyes remained clued to him just in case he rushed them.
Tiffany Korta Posted March 15 Posted March 15 Starshine Luckily when the giant illusion popped into life it was of someone that they'd covered recently in History of Supers classes, so with a quick double take she focused on the one nearby Drone that hadn't been fooled (or was just really focused). "Does it still work if you point out it's not real?" she wondered out loud as she fired off a burst of hard light. The bracelets gave a sad chirp, as disappointed as her when it seemed not to have any effect. Maybe she should thing of something bigger?
Thevshi Posted March 16 Author Posted March 16 Multi-Girl Bernadette initially backed up at the sudden appearance of the giant Crimson Katana (despite being Neko's roommate and knowing full well about her illusions). Thankfully Rosalinda called out about it not being real, allowing the redhead’s senses to follow what her mind knew and allow her to not be distracted by the illusion. There was one Omegadrone left in their immediate area, attacking Neko, so the Irish teen picked up one of the pikes dropped by one of the armored figures one of her duplicates had knocked out before. Hefting it like a javelin, Bernadette took a step and hurled it through the air, impaling the Omegadrone right through its torso and causing it to drop out of the air to the ground. Looking back towards the illusion, she stated. "It is workin' for the moment, but eventually they are goin' ta realize it is not there."
Avenger Assembled Posted March 21 Posted March 21 A real mad dog would have hied off after prey at this point, barking his head off. Instead a growling Copper Knight backed up among his peers, teeth bared and jaws dripping with the faintest traces of ichor. "Be warned friends," he said in a voice that sounded perfectly human despite his guise, "their blood is a poison! If you strike with your body, strike most carefully." A litany of curses ran through Neko's mind as she backed up too, concentrating as she adjusted the illusory Katanaju on the sly, letting it take damage that seemingly perfectly matched the various attacks it was getting - even those from her erstwhile peers who couldn't see her standing her miming the thing! "This is." Suddenly the giant form of her ancient tormentor exploded in a shower of foul-smelling, rotten gore, before crumbling down to an animate skeleton crawling with fiery, monstrous cats that writhed around like so many feline maggots! Suddenly the cats (and the illusion) disappeared from everyone's sight - just as they swarmed their way into the eyepieces of every Omegadrone nearby!
MoonSimply Posted March 26 Posted March 26 La Puma Negra La Puma Negra rushed over as whatever Neko had brought out had come to life. Some sort of illusion that was so life like, even she thought it was real for a few moments. It didn't last long enough however for her any sort of worry to set in as it changed in her mind, tampering more from Neko whom seemed to have a mastery of the art. The bots were distracted enough for her now to dodge away from car to car, making her way back to the larger part of the group. "Hey, what's the plan," she says, seemingly having snapped out of her stupor that she had been. It seemed like fighting had brought her back into a proper state of mind, getting her heart pumping and mind jogging with energy, "We can't stay here."
Thevshi Posted March 26 Author Posted March 26 GM Neko shifted her illusions from the gigantic Crimson Katana to her more focused illusions blocking the senses of the Omegadrones that had been attacking the illusion. These helped with the panic that had set in with some of the gathered police and SWAT team members, although many still seemed very rattled by the onslaught of the Omegadrones, what was happening throughout the city and the sudden rescue by the group of metahuman teens and members of FORCE Ops. Arched stepped forward as the immediate threats ended, an arrow nocked, but not drawn. "While those illusions are drawing forces from us, it is likely to make this area a higher priority threat. We can probably expect more forces to be throw this way." He stated as he moved over to the commander of the SWAT team. "Before you get the stupid idea of trying to arrest us, or just shoot us, this is obviously way bigger than any of us." The vigilante hero stated, nodding his head towards the chaos unfolding in downtown Freedom City on the other side of the river. "Right now, the best thing you and any other available officers could do would be to create a safe corridor away from the city for civilians to use to get to safety. We will do what we can to draw away these bastards." The SWAT officer seemed to hesitate for a moment, but then started yelling orders to the other officers nearby and then started talking over the radio as he moved towards one of the SWAT vans. The officers and SWAT team members began gathering up their gear and wounded comrades and moving to their undamaged vehicles. As this was taking place, another of the flying transports flew overhead, a dozen Omegadrones dropping off of it and flying down towards the group. As they came, Archer quickly drew his nocked arrow, aiming at one of the drones and fired. The arrow struck right into the visor of the Omegadrone, causing its head to snap back as the arrow embedded deeply into its skull before the drone plummeted to the ground. The other Omegadrones began to attack, some staying in the air and shooting at targets, another six flying down to try to stab their targets. As one flew down towards Neko, Owain’s wolf form was quickly ono the drone, quickly taking it down. Half of the remaining Omegadrones stayed in the air, firing at their intended targets. One of those blast stuck Mult-Girl's duplicate in the shoulder, leaving a burn mark and knocking her to the ground, momentarily dazed.
Dracostern Posted April 1 Posted April 1 Cerebellum So much was going on all at once, everyone was doing everything. More Omegadrones were on their way! The illusion was now gone and there were still stuck in the past, or was it an alternate timeline?! Why why why? He was only snapped out of it by La Pluma Negra's question. Though that did not stop his beating heart or the panic slowly overcoming his mind. "I don't know what to do! W-We can't keep fighting wave after wave! We need to get out of here!" He was too panicked to do anything else.
Thevshi Posted April 4 Author Posted April 4 GM When one of the Omegadrones flew down to attack him, Jotunn managed to land a punch as it pulled back its pike to attack, sending the drone flying backwards to crash on the pavement, out of the fight. As the Claremont teenagers and two members of FORCE Ops fought against the newest group of Omegadrones a large, round object came flying towards the boardwalk from the City Center. The massive sphere crashed into the nearby casino, collapsing part of the roof and outer wall with a jarring impact that shook the ground for blocks and sent debris flying in all directions. Moments after the impact, a larger, metallic figure rose up from amongst the debris of the building, a more than three story tall robot. Several round vents in its torso flared bright orange, as its eyes and mouth did as well, the cosmic fires powering the robot visible inside its jaws as its glowing eyes focused on the gathered heroes. El Gato looked up at the massive robot with a hint of fear before she slashed out at the Omegadrone that had attacked her, ripping its throat out with her claws sending the blackish liquid everywhere. She then bounded off to dive behind another parked car. "¿Qué demonios es esa cosa?" She called out to Archer, not really seeming expecting an answer. Up in the air, Kismet reappeared, piloting what could only be described as a skycycle, which she steered over near one of the flying Omegadrones before leveling an assault rifle with one free hand and firing a full burst at the it. The bullets managed to tear through the Omegadrones’ chest plate, causing a spray of the black liquid coursing through the Terminus soldier as the drone reeled back before crashing down to the ground. Guiding the skycycle down lower, Kismet came to a hover not far from Archer. "Brought some reinforcements, hopefully they will be enough to help with that thing." She stated, glancing up at the massive robot standing in the ruins of part of the casino. "Nightrage will try to help as he can, given he is a bit limited due to the daylight."
Dracostern Posted April 5 Posted April 5 Cerebral Everything went to hell faster then Iris expected. That giant creature turned out to be a mere illusion, making Iris want to kick herself. How could she have fallen for that so easily! It made her feel quite useless as in the end she had done basically nothing this entire fight. At least it seemed to be over...wait what was that?! A large round object shot down towards then and slammed into the ground, revealing a massive robot. Sure they were getting some reinforcements it seemed but in Iris' mind they were screwed. She would attempt to trip the thing, though as hard as she focused on it's leg, she could just barely not get it to move, making her feel even more useless. "We need to go... NOW!" She spoke as she ducked back behind the car.
Tiffany Korta Posted April 9 Posted April 9 Starshine Rosalind wasn't quite sure who the big guy (or girl) was, as far as she remembered focused on the Omega Drones and Omega himself. But it made sense that the Terminus had a whole range of drones of various sizes to deal with various problems. She guessed they should be flattered that they got such an upgrade! "This can't be good! We better get them clear of everyone that could get hurt." Flying to a point a good distance from any vulnerable targets she fired off a burst of hard light, if it didn't do any harm she could at least get their attention.
Thevshi Posted April 9 Author Posted April 9 Multi-Girl Starshine's hard light struck the towering robot squarely in the chest and glanced harmlessly off its armor. The robot barely seemed to register the attack as its glowing eyes swept over the increasingly chaotic battlefield seeming to note the various targets in the area. Down on the ground, Bernadette looked up at the new threat before glancing over to where Iris had taken cover, seemingly starting to panic. "Calm down an' stay focused." The redhead called over. "Stay behind cover an' try ta pick off some o' these Omegadrones before they get lucky." The Irish teen then focused back on the giant robot from the Terminus. Taking a deep breath, she ran forward a couple steps and then leapt into the air a short distance. Bernadette’s leap brought her up next to the robot's left knee as she delivered a right hook aimed at the side of the mechanical joint. WHAM Bernadette’s punch landed solidly on the side of the robot's knee joint, bending some of the metal and sending sparks as the robot’s leg buckled to the side. The knee gave way just enough to cause the robot to fall down onto its knee, its left arm reaching down to brace it from falling over completely. The redheaded teen meanwhile had landed back on the ground and moved aside just as the robot fell onto its knee. While pleased with actually managing to damage the thing, she was still kept her guard up for any counter-attack or any Omegadrones. A short distance away, Bernadette’s duplicate that had been shot by one of the Omegadrones seemed to come back to her senses as she partially sat upright.
MoonSimply Posted April 13 Posted April 13 La Puma Negra At the current moment in time, there was near nothing that she could do outside of fight, and at the least that was something that she could fairly well as a student of Claremont. Turns out taking a few extracurricular classes was paying off well, that and the further hours spent on the gymnastics team as she moved with fluid motions and quick speed. That, and combine with the work she had been doing with the current Patriot made it so that she was doing wonders getting rid of another drone. Puma's claws would meet alien metal and design, slashing into another one of them with deadly effectiveness, taking it out quickly before diving back for cover in almost hit and run like tactics. "These things just don't let up!" she lets out, waiting for a better plan than her own.
Thevshi Posted April 13 Author Posted April 13 GM Suddenly there was a loud yell as a massive figure leapt off of the roof of the damaged casino toward the giant robot. “AAAAAAAHHHHH!” The figure was at least eight feet tall, and far broader than a normal person. Dressed in long black pants (with red pipping running up the ides) and black boots, the enormous man did not wear any shirt. He had on black gloves on his massive hands, which each only seemed to have three thick fingers. His head was somewhat disproportionately smaller than his body, and bald. WHAM The figure delivered a powerful double-handed blow to the torso of the giant robot, causing it to rock back slightly from the force of the impact, which dented a section of the chest plate. Once again, the robot seemed somewhat disoriented as the large man dropped down to the ground near its feet, landing not too far away from Bernadette. "Oh, hello." The newcome said, seeming a bit awkward. "That was a well-placed strike you delivered." He then added, and while still seeming a bit awkward, he was surprisingly well spoken. Across the street, Archer watched the scene unfolding and instead of focusing on one of the many Omegadrones still in the area, he drew out two arrows and ran over near where Daniel had taken cover behind a car. "You have telekinesis like your sister right?" He asked as he nocked both of the arrows at once, some sort of cables linking the two together. "When that thing gets back up, try to trip it, together with these, we might be able to bring it down to the ground where it can be more easily dealt with." He then stood back upright, aiming the two nocked arrows towards the giant robot as he started to draw them back.
Avenger Assembled Posted April 14 Posted April 14 Copper Knight and Neko It wasn't necessarily time to retreat; but it was time to make sure they'd be able to if they did. Turning from the temporarily-distracted drones, Owain scrabbled over to a nearby manhole cover. He'd learned how to open these with his teeth from practice with his mentors at the Espadas house and they were no different here in 1993. He dug in hard and pulled, heedless of the taste, and wrenched open a passageway into Freedom City's ample sewers. For her part, Neko layered her illusions atop illusions, filling the air above them with Omegadrones that flew on wildly contradictory courses, the better to confuse any who might escape the blindness she'd thrown up for all of them, taking a few cautious steps towards the sewer opening herself. "Come on!" she called as loudly as she could, trying to make sure any civilians around knew about the escape route too.
Thevshi Posted April 17 Author Posted April 17 GM As Owain tore open an entrance to the city’s sewer system, the police still in the area began guiding civilians from nearby buildings down into the tunnels to lead them away from the fighting. Neko meanwhile maintained her illusions that were keeping over a dozen of the Omegadrones distracted a couple blocks away and not attacking her friends or any civilians. Over near the damaged casino, the giant robot that had appeared refocused as it stood back up after the two solid this by Multi-Girl and Bruiser. Looking around, it spotted Bernadette’s duplicate that was still lying on the ground after being shot by one of the Omegadrones. The massive robot lifted up one of its huge feet and brought it down towards the redheaded duplicate. But Bruiser quickly moved over next to her, reaching up to catch the foot and push it to the side, causing the robot to stumble slightly and have to regain its footing. "You okay?" Bruiser asked as he looked down at the duplicate, just noting she was identical to the other redhead. "Oh, you two twins?" Suddenly, there was a crackle of electricity and the smell of ozone in the air as a wide bolt of lightning arched through the air, tearing through three of the Omegadrones before slamming down to the ground and taking on a humanoid form. All three Omegadrones fell from the sky, smoking holes in their chests as the humanoid figure of pure electricity (wearing a black leather jacket) looked at the others "This looks like a fun party. Thanks for saving some of those of us showing up late." Nearby, the Omegadrones that had been after Neko and Owain both followed after them, trying to stab with their pikes. But both of the young heroes managed to dodge aside from the clumsy attacks with relative easy. The two remaining Omegadrones still in the air took aim at new targets. One sent a blast of energy at Archer, who dodged aside as he took aim at the giant robot. The other fired an energy blast at Kismet, striking her in the back. The dark haired woman grunted slightly in pain from the attack, but otherwise seemed unhurt. Archer pulled back the two arrows he had in his bow. "You ready kid?" He asked Daniel, and upon receiving acknowledgement, fired the two arrows at the legs of the giant robot. The arrows shot through the air, cables connecting them to each other. The two arrows passed on either side of the robot’s legs, the cables catching, causing the arrows but turned inward to wrap the cables about both of the robot’s legs.
Dracostern Posted April 17 Posted April 17 Cerebellum This was complete and utter chaos! Daniel was beginning to feel overwhelmed once more. His heart rate and breathing started to pick up speed and his eyes glanced around, registering everything that was happening. Had this been a day with less robot invasions then he would have been super excited to meet all these older superheroes! However this was not his dream but a waking nightmare! Archer would shake him from his thoughts and Daniel snapped back to attention. "O-Oh! Yes I am!" He would exclaim softly before turning and watching the archer shoot his arrows at the Robot's legs and then he focused on the legs, pulling them forward slightly to get the machine to trip on the cables. It was tough but he just managed to pull them closer as a faint purple outlined the area he was attempting to move.
Thevshi Posted April 17 Author Posted April 17 GM Daniel' telekinetic push was just enough to bring the robot's legs together as Archer's arrows continued to wrap around, binding the tightly in the cables, at least for the moment. Thrown off balance and unable to easily spread its legs apart to regain its footing, the massive robot fell over to one side. Its legs finally snapped the cables loose as it fell, but it was already too late as it crashed to the ground with a loud THUD, sending dust and chunks of pavement flying in all directions. "Good work." Archer said to Daniel before calling out loudly. "Brusier, Red, tear that damn thing’s head off. Everyone else, let's get rid of the rest of these things so we can take moment to get clear and come up with a plan to take the fight to them instead of reacting." El Gato bound out form the cover she had taken, coming up behind the Omegadrone that was trying to stab Neko. In one swift motion, the cat-woman tore at the drone's throat, flesh and cables tearing away as the black liquid spilled out and the drone toppled to the ground. Up in the air, Kismet turned towards the Omegadrone that had shot her and fired a burst from her assault rifle. Once again the bullets tore through the drone’s armor, causing it to jerk back before dropping out of the sky lifeless.
Tiffany Korta Posted April 19 Posted April 19 Starshine Seeing that her previous attack had not affected the giant Omegadrone Rosalind gathered up all the energy she could, to the protest of Bracelet and dimming of her aura to almost nothing. The burst of power was an impressive flash of light, though when the smoke cleared the bot seemed completely unharmed unless it really cared about a few scratches and a ruined paint job. "Well poop!" was all she could think to say.
Dracostern Posted April 19 Posted April 19 Cerebral After seeing her brother and Archer make that massive drone fall, that gave her courage again. If they could do that, then she can stop panicking and help damn it! The young woman would look around before noticing one of the Pikes close to her. She also spotted an Omegadrone flying above them. She would narrow her eyes and take a deep breath rushing out and gripping one of the pikes before spinning around to stare at the drone. She focused on it and an extremely faint purple wave shot out towards it, infecting it's mind with intense pain. A Mind Blast!
Thevshi Posted April 19 Author Posted April 19 Multi-Girl Iris's mental blast caused the Omegadrone to rear violently back at the sudden pain. Then it dropped out of the sky to crash down onto the pavement below. Bernadette’s duplicate looked up at Bruiser with a small smile if he asked if they were twins. "Somethin' like that." She replied as she quickly brought her legs up and then performed a "kip" back up onto her feet in one quick motion. "Sounds like your boss wants us ta try an' tear this thing apart." She added, before leaping over near the giant robot that was starting to try to push itself up off the ground as the original Bernadette moved over as well. The two identical redheads both were on either side of the robot’s neck, reaching up to grab at the joint of the neck and the torso, managing to dig their fingers in between the metal. Both started pulling as hard as they could, bracing one foot up on the shoulders of the robot to give them more leverage.
MoonSimply Posted April 19 Posted April 19 La Puma Negra It was getting more and more difficult to control herself as she pushed hard into moving, already somewhat panicked from being in the past and a certain person that shared a similar appearance to her. Then there was the invasion of the city itself, the issue of having to see the sheer terror and chaos that was around them as they fought back against the drones. To be here firsthand was different from reading about it in class, and as she bounded over towards Owain and the drone attacking him, Puma was going to make sure that everyone made it back to class in once piece, claws out as she was ready to pounce. "Raawwwrr!!" she let out with a bestial roar, slashing at another drone with a slash of her claws and a furious blow. Part of her had thought this was the intentions and doings of Quirk, but it was too real, far too real here.
Thevshi Posted April 19 Author Posted April 19 GM The Omegadrone has been readying its pike to try to stab at Owain once again when La Puma came up and racked her claws across its throat. The black, viscous liquid that seemed to flow through these cyborgs came running down the front of its armor as it stumbled backward a few steps and then collapsed to the ground. "Oh, of course." Bruiser responded as he watched Bernadette and her duplicate leap into action against the currently downed giant robot. The hulking figured leapt over towards the giant robot, his thick arms wrapping around its head as the two redheads pulled at the connection to the head. Squeezing tightly enough that the metal of the robot’s head caved in slightly, Bruiser pulled with all his might as Bernadette and her duplicate pulled. There was a loud scraping of metal as Bruiser further crushed part of the head and eventually part of the metal Bernadette and her duplicate were pulling on tore free, causing the two to stagger a few steps before regaining their balance. While the giant robot’s head was still mostly attached to its body, it was badly damaged and at a partial angle as Bruiser lost his grip and took a few steps back as well. Where the robot had been starting to push itself back upright, it collapsed back down onto the ground, not appearing to be fully out of the fight just yet, but certainly badly damaged.
Dracostern Posted April 22 Posted April 22 Cerebral and Cerebellum The giant machine, while not completely destroyed, seemed to be out of the fight, maybe it somehow realized it couldn't win and just gave up? The twins didn't now sentient these things were after all. Iris gripped the pike and ran over to Daniel and began to look him over once or twice. "Are you hurt? sick? Feel ok? I'm here if you need me-." She seemed to be worrying a bit too much but Daniel shut that down right away by placing a hand on her shoulder. "Iris, I'm alright, what about you?" The female twin seemed a bit shaken but confirmed that she was alright. Once that was cleared up the twins would turn towards the others and move closer to them. "So....what's the plan?" Daniel asked.
MoonSimply Posted April 22 Posted April 22 La Puma Negra After slashing through the Omegadrone's throat, Puma would recover with a skid across the pavement, claws digging in after moving at breakneck and superhuman speeds. Black liquid coated her nails and hands as the automaton fell over unmoving and dead as it possibly could be. The fight wasn't over, but it was a brief pause, one which they could take a breath and relax. Puma didn't know how long this would last and where everyone else was as this all felt too real for this to be some imaginary world. It was all far too real. "Get out alive sounds like a good idea!" Puma says aloud, the smell of liquid was making her uncomfortable.
Tiffany Korta Posted April 30 Posted April 30 Starshine Rosalind, not for the first time today, wished she knew what was going on in the wider Freedom City. Big things would, or should, be happening and they probably needed to keep away from such big events so as not to get sucked into things. She had to resist checking her phone, it'd raise too many questions and besides the time and date would be well out and none of the other services would exist for a good couple of decades. "I agree we should get off the streets." she swooped down to hover just above her friends and allies "We also need some way of knowing what's going on out there!"
