Thevshi Posted February 22 Author Posted February 22 Go ahead with an IC post when you can (and if you want). The giant mummy tries to snare Velocity by shooting some wraps at her, but missing by a mile. @Poncho @RocketLord Lets get any actions/IC posts in.
RocketLord Posted February 22 Posted February 22 Parker will likewise help the crowd, while Interposing for anything that might come their way.
Huckleberry Posted February 22 Posted February 22 For the last couple days and for the next two weeks, I'm at a place with really bad connectivity. Posting success rate is low, and linking to rolls has been 100% failure rate. Ironically, I have a lot of time in my hands, but posting may continue to be spotty for me for a bit.
Thevshi Posted February 22 Author Posted February 22 Thanks for letting us know Huck! I will try to plan accordingly!
Thevshi Posted February 23 Author Posted February 23 Round Two 42 Velocity (unharmed) 33 Blue Bolt 4 HP (unharmed) 23 Sever 3 HP (unharmed) 21 Timeout 4 HP (unharmed) 21 Gamma Buzz 2 HP (unharmed) 18 Rot 4 HP (unharmed) 16 Torpedo Lass II 3 HP (unharmed) 14 Giant Mummy (unharmed) 11 Spaceman 4 HP (unharmed) 6 Golden Star 2 HP (unharmed) Okay, in the interest of getting this initial encounter resolved, going to push things forward some with Lawrence realizing that the tampering with the timeline is that the other heroes that are supposed to be showing up are not around. Velocity runs up to attack the mummy and hits with a 29! (almost a critical hit, no improved critical for teen Velocity), but, no effect. She then runs back near where she started, trying to keep its attention. @Kaede Kimura Blue Bolt's turn!
Kaede Kimura Posted February 23 Posted February 23 Okay, hearing that the timeline is already altered, Blue Bolt is gonna fire the Meson Driver at the mummy, 1d20+8 = 16. Gonna hero point reroll that, 1d20+8(+10) = 20. If that hits its DC18 Fortitude vs Affects Objects Toughness Drain.
Thevshi Posted February 23 Author Posted February 23 Okay, it only gets a 12 on its Reflex check, so loses 6 Toughness, reveling it is a robot.
Thevshi Posted February 23 Author Posted February 23 @Kaede Kimura go ahead with an IC post. @Thunder King Sever is up next.
Thunder King Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Sever is going to watch out for people and also try to get them to get away from the mummy. He's going to look out for anyone stray and see if he can help them get away faster.
Thevshi Posted February 24 Author Posted February 24 @Thunder King Thanks Thunder, as you're not attacking, go ahead and get your IC post up then.
Thevshi Posted February 25 Author Posted February 25 @Supercape Okay, Baz is up, and the giant robot mummy has been cleared as a valid target (or he can keep helping civilians)
Supercape Posted February 25 Posted February 25 Giant robot mummy eh? That sounds like a job for ATOMIC COCKROACH FIST Free action: Nauseate Aura Move action: Jump into melee Standard action: Punch Another mighty swing... 9 Natural 1s! Yippee!
Thevshi Posted February 25 Author Posted February 25 @Huckleberry @The Sailor Rot and then TL2 are up, Huck, let me know if you are still having issues with the roll, I can roll for you (or someone else can) if need be, or Rot can continue to wait this round.
Huckleberry Posted February 26 Posted February 26 Rot will use her Scour attack on the giant robot mummy. DC 18 Reflex save for half effects on a rank 8 Toughness Drain and a rank 8 Damage
Thevshi Posted February 26 Author Posted February 26 It gets a 23 Reflex check to halve the effect. It gets a 15 on the Reflex check against the Drain (DC 14 after halving), so no drain. The +4 damage bounces off its Impervious for no effect.
Huckleberry Posted February 26 Posted February 26 So it gets a Reflex check instead of the normal Fortitude check vs drain, or was that a typo?
Thevshi Posted February 26 Author Posted February 26 Yes, robots, zombies, other constructs that can move get a Reflex save vs the Drain (just like I rolled vs. Blue Bolt's drain) in place of the Fort Save.
Huckleberry Posted February 26 Posted February 26 That's definitely better than getting no save, but still a bit clunky. The M&M gimmick of robots and undead having 0 Constitution scores is pretty cute, but I'm not convinced it's worth it from a game design perspective, compared to handling it with descriptors, select immunities and drawbacks or limitations like "can't recover" etc.
Thevshi Posted February 26 Author Posted February 26 Well, you don't HAVE to make a robot with 0 CON, but most do. And to get that it costs 30PP for the Immunity to Fortitude effects (of course, you get 10PP for the base 10 CON that is reduced to 0) If I could get your IC post then we can move on.
The Sailor Posted February 26 Posted February 26 (edited) I think I'm just going to make an attack... Gonna get behind it and let it have some juice. one moment. Sorta mid roll, only a 15... Edited February 26 by The Sailor
Thevshi Posted February 26 Author Posted February 26 Okay, per discord chat, Spaceman is interposing for Baz as the robot mummy tries to step on him. 19 to hit, so a DC 27 toughness save for Parker.
RocketLord Posted February 26 Posted February 26 TOU save 16 Gonna spend a HP to reroll that: 10+11 = 21+10 = 31
RocketLord Posted February 26 Posted February 26 Personal Space Control Array to Super-Strength Space Control Array to Elongation+Enh. Strength Space Movement Array to Flight Then... Parker is gonna fly up and punch it: 24 I think that's a hit, so a DC25 TOU save, and I'm gonna try to establish a grapple: 50
Thevshi Posted February 26 Author Posted February 26 It gets a 23 on its toughness save, so takes an injury. It only gets a 45 on its grapple check. But I will give you a HP for a reroll, so the lowest it can get is a 51 and break free.
