"We should all stick together, Miss Vueriz," Dr. Macedon quickly says, before any of the other students get away from her. She frowns as she looks around. It doesn't look anything like any of the stories that her grandfather had told her about going through the Magic Mesa, or the one time she had gone through it herself. "I'm sorry miss O’Connell, but I've only been through here once before, and we never really found out what happened, but we obviously did it because..." She turns and looks behind them. The cave they came through has closed. "... Yep, it's gone. It should open once we do whatever needs doing. The one time I got through this I got back to the 80'es, this looks a bit more advanced."

She pauses and looks around. The park they are in seems eerily empty. They can't see any other people anywhere.

"I don't suppose any of you kids got any powers that'd be useful for tracking down the last member of our little crew?"

Carmen is as alone as the rest of her group, but she is too far away to see or hear them, even with her advanced senses. It is strange to see a park this empty, even at night, but then again, everything here is very different.

The silence is broken by a horn, like an air raid alarm. She barely has time to react before an explosion cuts through the darkness not far from her. Statues like the one of Golden Star that she is standing comes flying through the air, apparently made from a material able to withstand the explosion. One lands right next to her, only barely missing. It is a woman that looks like she is dressed like the Raven.

Further away, the rest of the group sees and hears the explosion, even if it is far more faint.

Bernadette had to stop herself from laughing at Vueriz's statement about being more compatible with Baz. After all, the redhead was not completely sure whether the small alien had intended to say it like that, or if it was due to not understanding the possible meanings of the phrase, or just an issue with her translator. Dr. Macedon’s response about them all staying together helped her focus on the more immediate issues.

"Aye, I agree with Dr. Macedon, an' Baz, we all stay together." The Irish teen responded. "But…if fer any reason we do need ta split up, havin' my duplicate in a different group would be best."

"As then both groups would have a way ta communicate." The duplicate continued, tapping the side of her head and then pointing over toward the original Bernadette with a smile.

Bernadette had just been about the answer Dr. Macedon's question when there was the sound of sirens and then an explosion flashed in the distance, the sound of it faint but clearly audible. "Well….I think we have a clue where we might need ta start." Bernadette stated as she prepared to start heading in the direction of the explosion.

"Explosions! Wheee!" said Gamma Buzz, antennae alert.

"I mean.. Explosions. They can be nasty, right? Like, dangerous nasty? I mean, what exploded, and what caused the explosion? And are we going to be dodging missiles and hopping over mines? this all sounds like some kinda world war 2 movie. You know, like the movies they show in the movie theatre."

He trembled slightly.

"It seemed much more fun in black and white and when it wasnt happening..."

He straightened his back.

"But its also an opportunity to be a hero, right? Like a superhero?"

Invigorated by his decleration, he started hopping after Bernadette.

La Puma Negra

Her mind and body had wandered around, looking rather bored as she went from one statue to other. There was plenty of these things, all of different heroic costumed figures of a large variety. It was all somewhat confusing to her, this strange and weird environment, like a look into another sort of future that seemed to exist beyond the comprehension. Michael, or at the least a future version of him as Golden Star was there but she didn't seem to be among the ones made. No future her to look at or critique. Carmen hadn't liked the idea of a statue being made in her honor, thinking it gawdy, but maybe there was something else to it? That would be lost as the statue of someone wearing the costume of the Raven fell down to land right next to her, impacting the ground alongside a blaring siren noise.

Carmen is caught utterly off guard, the sound causing her typical keen senses to be distracted, jumping a little after the statue nearly hit her, "Jeez!" she says, moving towards the darkness where it had come from.

"Don't be too happy about explosions and world wars, Mr. Botez," Doctor Macedon mentions as she starts running towards the explosion. "My grandfather told me that a group of students got sent back to the second world war to fight nazi super villains once." She pauses and grimaces. "I don't want that to happen again."

Carmen soon finds the source of the explosion of flying statue that almost hit her. In the middle of the park where she passed by before, that is now a large crater, with a woman with short white hair dressed in a blue costume with a gold chest plate and white cape lying on her back. She appears to be barely concious, her costume torn showing bruises and scrapes underneath.

Meanwhile, the rest of the group is reaching the source of the explosion, at the edge of the park in the city. Several costumed individuals, all wearing rather futuristic costumes, are on the ground or in buildings, while a group of men and women in uniforms with black legs, dark grey shirts and red markings showing two jagged S symbols on the chest. They are all heavily armed and seem to be regrouping.

"Hey! Look! Its like, like a 50s Sci Fi show! They have got space uniforms, right? And probably those are laser blasters or something!"

Baltazar was still glowing with pride from being called Mister Botez! That's right! A mister! A proper person. Who deserved respect and everything.

"Wait... does that mean we have to get to cover or something? I mean, I don't want to get blasterized into a pile of purple powder. Is blasterized a word? It should be a word. For when you get turned into a pile of purple powder... No, wait. Aren't sci fi people meant to set to stun first or something? Sounds a bit risky. Perhaps we should hide behind a rock or something?"

Eventually backtracking a little bit was how she would eventually see in the short distance the source of the sudden commotion that almost had her squashed like a big by the now decimated hero statue. It was now spotting that source, a form of crash site with a figure laying in it that she increased her pace, an all-fours sprint before she got the woman whom appeared to be in a bit of bad shape. The white hair was definitely something different as she didn't appear that old, sliding down the crate to check on her in a naturally curious and concerned way.

"Hey... are you alright?" Carmen says before prodding her lightly. Whomever this lady was, Puma wasn't familiar with them at all, not outright recognizing them, "I can try and get you help, what's going on here?"

Bernadette had been listening to Dr. Macedon talk a bit about what she knew from prior Claremont groups that had been pulled through time at the Magic Mesa when the group came upon what appeared to be a fight between two groups. Looking at the group in uniforms, the redhead noted the symbols on their shirts. "Speakin' o’ World War II, that lot seems ta be inspired by the Nazi die Übersoldaten an' Superior." She stated, point towards the group with weapons and the uniforms with the S logo.

"Pretty good odds they are the bad guys here." She added as she started running towards the group. Her duplicate held back for the moment, keeping an eye on the area, but ready to move into action as well.

Vueriz was pretty sure she missing context, specifically about what a 'Nahtsee' was, but she could put together that they were bad guys, and that the guys dressed up as 'the Supersoldiers and Superior' were too. She made sure to commit their symbol to memory: A black circle with two lines poking out.

(She could only guess at it's meaning, but that wasn't important right now.)

"So we blast them, right?" She looked to the others, waiting for the affirmative.

Baltazar paused. These guys certainly looked like bad guys. Like nazi bad guys, to be more precise. But that doesn't mean they were. And, despite all his goofing around, non-lethal radiation had a tendency to be a bit non-lethal, sometimes.

"Is pretty good odds good enough?" he asked Bernadette. After all, she seemed to have a good head on her soldiers, even if it was sometimes also stuck betwixt her butt cheeks.

She had plenty of heads to spare, as far as he could see. Bernadette could easily have her head in both places at once.

"I mean, I'm all for frying them. But..."

He shrugged.

"I don't wanna be the guy who shoots first...."

The men and women in the uniforms have caught up with each other by now. They are speaking amongst themselves, it seems like they are trying to decide what to do, but they seem confused, unable to take action on their own. At least until a blonde man clad in a simple dark grey suit with the same double lightning symbol in a red circle on his chest descends from above, landing among them.

If any of the group had recognized the uniforms, like Multi-Girl, then they are surely to recognize him as Superior himself. The Nazi Übermensch who had stood alone against the likes of Centurion and the entire Freedom League in the past.

The white haired woman looks up at La Puma Negra, or tries, at least. "Help me up, please," she says, reaching a hand out towards Carmen. "Have to stop them. Can't let them go back."

Vueriz watched the unfolding scene with the discerning eyes of one who had no idea what was happening. The man with the yellow hair looked to be their leader, and they seemed pretty hopeless without him. Everyone seemed to be in agreement that they were the bad guys, but pretty hesitant to be the ones to open fire.

She huffed in frustration at the confusion she felt, hopping onto her skyboard before speaking. "I'm gonna go try figure out what's happening."

She then zoomed away, pulling the Nervebuzzer from her belt and readying it to be thrown as insurance. She took a looping route trying to keep out of sight at first so as to not give away her classmates position. Quickly though she made her way to where the 'Supersoldiers' were. "Man, take the wrong turn at the Dog Star and look where you end up! Could any of you kind fellows tell me where I am and what's going on?"

Gamma Buzz, the Cockroach Kid

Baz's Antennae trembled. His eyes glowed a virulent green.

"Don't you move, hombre!" he said, pointing one armoured finger at Superior. "You are.. um... under arrest! Or something..."

He glanced at his comrades, seeking some kind of direction. Arrest? Where were they? This was a bad guy, right?

"Move a muscle and I will blast you with my amazing gamma vision? Its not just ordinary gamma vision. Its amazing gamma vision. So you best just stay right there, and tell us everything! Of course, we know everything already, absolutely! But we want you to tell us everything, even if we all know it already! Haha!"

Superior stops in place, as the little blue alien and the cockroach kid speaks up to him. His face shows a bit of surprise, perhaps, but mainly, he just seems annoyed, like they are simply beneath him.

"... Is that all? A blue imp, a bug and an inadequate successor and a little girl? Is this all that remains of heroes in this time?"

He scoffs, shaking his head.

"I am Superior. Die Übermensch. Go away, or face the consequences."

La Puma Negra

Utterly confused at what was going on, Carmen decided against her own instincts to help this white-haired woman up and back to her feet. The young werecat woman would crouch down, bringing her hand out to try and help this stranger back up to her feet. If she was being attacked like this in such a state, it was felt that she could handle her well enough if she was just lying. If not, then everything would likely be alright. Carmen would listen to whatever this woman had to say and see if she could help her. Whatever the young woman had wandered into she was sure she could handle it.

"Who are you?" she asks as she lends a hand.

The woman accepts the help, climbing to her feet, supporting herself on Carmen.

She slowly raises her hand, bruised as it may be. She looks like she doesn't quite believe what the catwoman in front of her is saying.

"You don't know me?" she asks, the worry in her voice replaced by pure confusion. Then, her eyes glow light blue, and she stands up, reaching for Carmen's wrist, holding her in place. "I am the Centurion. When did you come from?"

La Puma Negra

Carmen's understanding of history was a mixed bag when it came to other heroes out there and for all she knew, could very well be not even real if this place was anything. Being randomly teleported by scientific or magical means was not out of the ordinary anymore, but one could never be so sure, especially for a young heroine as herself was trying to be. Sure, it was all different and smelled like it was all real, but she doubted Micheal would wear something so dull and weird... or would he?

It was one thought her feline brain had instead of searching the back of her mind for whom this version of the Centurion was before she was pulled on by her wrist. The strange woman had grabbed her there to help her stand up once more, not that it was an issue as Puma was strong enough to do so without much issue at all, though taken off guard by the sudden glowing blue eyes. There was now a feeling that she had provided the wrong answer to a question.

"What does it matter where I'm from lady," she says with a retort back, taking her hand away once this Centurion woman got back to standing up, "I wandered in some cave to explore and ended up here. Now you should tell me what's going on here. I've got enough problems already in finding the exit."

Multi-Girl

Bernadette felt her heart sink slightly at the appearance of Superior himself, her body tensing with a bit of fear. But she was not about to let it paralyze her, and as the others seemed uncertain what to do (despite the appearance of a well know villain from the past), she knew she had to get them acting.

"Little girl?" She asked, her Irish accent seeming a bit thicker with anger. "Better than bein' a has-been-Nazi who couldn' compete with Centurion." The redhead then leapt forward towards the greatest grouping of Superior’s followers (trying to position herself to catch all of them present if possible). As she landed, nearly two dozen duplicates popped into existence, quickly moving outward in all directions. As they went, the duplicates launched punches and kicks at the various soldiers.

As the original Bernadette leapt into action, her initial duplicate glanced over towards Dr. Macedon. "You should probably stay under cover. An' be prepare ta run if things start goin' really badly." The redhead duplicate them ran forward, moving next to the original Bernadette and preparing to attack Superior if he moved towards the Irish teen.

The Centurion looks at La Puma Negra. She seems unsteady on her feet. Maybe she is concussed? She shakes her head.

"A cave?" She seems as confused as Carmen about it. "You... you're not from this time. You smell wrong. There's... your aura. It's so different." She shakes her again. "Ugh... Look, over there." She raises her hand, pointing towards the distance, where Carmen can see flashes and hear the sounds of the fight. "Superior is free. After thousand years, he's free. He has torn down the Freedom League. We can't stop him now." Her words are stumbling, like she has trouble finding them.

Superior's soldiers are clearly not ready for the multiple girls that suddenly appear in the middle of their numbers, punching and kicking at them. Caught of guard, several are driven back, though others fight back, starting to shot and punch at Bernadette's duplicates. Superior sneers, looking down at the fight below him"And yet, the Centurion of old is gone, while I am still here, free once more." He does not seem particularly inclined to help his soldiers.

"No, no! We're all getting out of here right now!" Dr. Macedon says, taking hold of Bernadette's dupe and pulling on her arm. "All of us, right now! You are not going to try to fight Superior! I'm supposed to keep you all safe, and I won't let him kill you!" She shouts, hoping the rest of the students will hear her. "We'll find Carmen and get the hell out of here right now!"

"Not fight...?" gasped Baltazar.

He had heard of Superior, of course. Who hadn't, at Claremont.

"I mean not that I am a coward or anything and I think we could totally take him. Blindfold, too. With one arm behind our backs whilst balancing a teapot on our head. A ming teapot too. One of those expensive ones. Probably a wobbly one, too, which means it would super hard to do. But we could still do it. Because we are totally not scared of you and we could totally take you on. You and all your friends. But because we are nice we will just back away so we dont humiliate you, and not at all because we would get our asses whipped. Which we wouldn't."

Baltazars eyes shifted right and left.

"That right, huh, guys?"

Sniffing the air, Puma had actually thought that she had some strange smell about her, going back to her crouched position as she stood before the Centurion. She didn't smell at all whatsoever different than usual. More than just being in such a weird place that seemed to some sort of anomaly, Puma would complain, "Well, you don't smell alright herself alright," she says before hearing the sounds of some sort of fight and immediately looking over with a quick twist of her neck thanks to her superior hearing ability. There was no need for her to even point out in fact.

"Well then lets stop him and put him back in to sleep right!" Puma responds back to her. Someone was fighting, and as she used her senses once more, the familiar scent of her fellow students and friends lingered in the air.

"It's too late," the Centurion protests. "The first thing he did when he broke out was break all access to the Zero-Zone. Nowhere else can hold him. He has only grown stronger with age!"

She takes a breath. "But you! You can stop this! This wasn't the first time he was freed. You can go back! You can stop him then. Back in your time. Put safeguards in place."

The Centurion is finding her footing. "He escaped in the early 21st century. We don't know when exactly, but he was free long enough to create a following, one that existed to this day. He must be stopped the moment he is freed. Do you understand?"
