Madame Raven

 

It was disturbing how quickly you got used to the weird and uncanny so quickly, and besides the feeling wasn't any worse than a really good workout session! Use to such thing she was quickly back in action, though right now that meant giving Devon the space to do his thing. Though she was also a detective by training.

 

"Now we have her safe and sound, do we have any idea of who she is and what exactly happened?"

 

Simliest questions were always the best starters, and she didn't expect anything solid until the woman showed signs of recovery

The Dreamer

 

The Dreamer sighed with relief as Devon scooped the girl up, although her concern grew as the Holes grew in number.

 

Fortunately, it seemed that Rex had a plan, she just had to get to him. Responding even before she consciously called, the Dream Angel swooped over to her with a beatific smile. She was scooped up in it's arms and quickly ferried over to the group where she quickly grabbed onto Rex's arm.

 

The feeling of breaching between universes through Rex's power was novel, in a thoroughly unpleasant fashion. For a long moment she worried if she was going to fall as soon as they arrived back on Earth, but the Angel caught her again. She turned to face it, where it smiled again. She nodded gratefully, even as she was dreaming herself a new wheelchair. 

 

"Thank you." She said as the Dream lowered her into the chair, it simply nodded before fading out. 

 

She turned back to the group as Devon started checking on the girl, while the Dream Raven was asking questions. "Given the entities were present on the other side of the portal, could her home dimension have been invaded by something capable of breaching into Z-Space? Or perhaps the attackers were native to Z-Space and breached into her universe?" The Dreamer's mind was filled with memories of Omegadrones descending on London. She blinked away tears as she focused on the other members of the Academy. "Is our world in danger?"

Rex Atom

 

Devon is back to normal, Raven and Dreamer are here, they got the girl... 

 

Rex leans back against the wall and lets out a breath that he didn't know he had been holding in. No matter how he had been acting, this isn't an usual day for him. Not yet, at least. Pushing himself back to standing position again, he moves over to the girl that the others crowding around, while Devon examines here. She seems to be doing fine, at least.

 

"No idea who she is, she doesn't look like anyone I recognize, but my hypothesis is close Adrianna's. Something, and I won't even begin to speculate about what until we can ask her, has done something to her reality that was strong enough to trap her halfway between Z-Space and her plane of origin. Still, Z-Space is a boundary between realities that keep them apart, and those... reality holes, I suppose? They seemed sentient. Are they natural predators in Z-Space? Or maybe they are part of whatever shunted her into Z-Space."

 

Noticing Adrianna's expression, he pauses. How do you deal with something like that? Still, he is supposed to be the would-be leader of this team... if they are even a team.

 

"Not any more than usual, Adrianna," he says, putting a hand on her shoulder. "But it's something to keep an eye on, at least."

 

Looking up at everyone in the room, Devon, Adrianna and Madame Raven, he continues.

 

"So... Now you've seen what I'd like this team to do." He looks at Devon. "Rescue missions." He looks at Madame Raven. "Knowledge gathering." He looks to Adrianna. "And doing it all at a scale that everyone else would think impossible. So... are you still in? Is this the part where I get to welcome you to Atom Academy?"

Dwayne smiled at Rex as he continues his examination. He gives him only a moment before finishing his check over and standing up.

 

"She'll be fine. Just needs some rest. Then we can figure out what's happened to her, how she got lost, all of that. But I think taking her to a hospital or at least an appropriate treatment room would be for the best for now; and I'd like a second opinion, I'm only an EMT after all, not a full doctor. She may need fluids or similar if she hasn't eaten or had anything to drink in awhile- depending on how long she's been trapped-, but right now, I think she'll be okay."

 

He stood up and dusted himself off, turning his attention to Rex with confidence.

 

"As for staying on. Well, I can't complain too much; it's not that different from my normal job, now is it? It's just a bit more...exciting and exotic. So yeah. I'm staying."
