Poncho Posted November 13 Author Posted November 13 (Golden Star) The ship slowly pulled to a stop, not heading towards the bridge anymore, as Vueriz sstopped it. It would need to get pulled back into the harbor, but it wasn't going anywhere fast right now at least. The fight might have been lost, but the battle was won; no terrorism or explosions were going to happen today. Michael, for his part, was clearly frustrated "I...I'm okay." Michael mumbled. "We're both pretty shredded though." he said honestly, looking at the dimminuitive alien and himself. "How are you holding up?" He checked with her. He smacked open a few of the wooden containers to peer into them, picking out explosives and guns as he did so. He wasn't not paying attention to Vueriz, but he was definitely letting out some frustration at the box by smacking it open. "We don't look great, hopefully Mizuki had a better time...but I have no idea where she is." Meanwhile, Mizuki was slowly regaining her conciousness floating in the water. "Hey. Mizzy. Are you okay?" The voice wasn't Vueriz or Michael. Sam was floating over her, looking concerned. "...You look like you got in a fight with the bad end of a boat motor. Do you need help?" Mizuki was a bruise and a little battered, but she wasn't in any serious danger herself; once she got herself moving again she'd probably feel better.
The Sailor Posted November 13 Posted November 13 (edited) Torpedo Lass TL looked around as best she could with a fully inflated life vest cradling her head. "Possible hostages and... explosives." She said, pointing to the yacht that was moving backwards in the water by now. "There was some... shark men..." She said getting her bearings before putting her slowly recovering energy into herself, pulling herself out of the water. "Well that's new... and a splitting..." She looked about, everything seemed brighter... "Umm... how long have I been out, It's.... Ohhhh I get it..." Seems the stress of the fight turned on something... she'd have to explore it later her back now was screaming from multiple cuts. "Yeah some shark men were trying something shady on that yacht... com'on... I wager the others could use some help... and I don't think that yacht should be moving at all." She said starting to fly herself over to where V and Mike were, the sight of Torpedo Lass' torn and blood soaked costume told the story. When she hit the deck it was with a thud... seemed her head was still spinning a bit. "Guys, there might be some people down below, those sharks were mentioning some people they "took care of". Once I get my bearings I'll bring the boat to a stop so law enforcement can handle the rest here... I know my way around a boat." She said, getting back to her feet. "Everyone okay?" Kaede Kimura Posted November 20 Posted November 20 Blue Bolt Vueriz looked down at her shirt and jacket and their new collection of holes as Michael described them both as pretty shredded. She felt a dull throb from the burn-bruises that the hot lead had run across her skin, plus knew that the scratch along her forehead probably looked pretty nasty, what with her purple blood drying over her face. She couldn't really disagree. Her face scrunched up slightly as he asked how she was holding up. "I feel like expletive. Doesn't really feel like we won. Just... survived." She watched for a moment as the other teen abused the boxes next to them, silently envious of the easy power her classmates held. She was just smart, couldn't throw cars or travel through the air without a vehicle. She squashed down the ugly feeling as it welled up, only for it to come oozing back out from the back of her mind as Mizuki and Sam both flew up to the ship. Here she was with a skyboard and a couple cludged together grenades while surrounded by superheroes. She looked at the blood soaking into Mizuki's costume, the bite marks torn into Michael's body, and the blood on her sleeve from where she had wiped it away. She was being really uncool. She looked back to Mizuki as she asked how everyone was. "Pretty beat up to be honest. I put the ship into full reverse, can stop the engine soon. How'd your end of things go?"
Poncho Posted November 23 Author Posted November 23 (Golden Star Post) "Yeah that was...rough." Michael agreed. Bruises, bite marks, and electrical burns had split his suit in places, and he was already regretting how he was going to explain to his friends and the teacher how he'd dragged Mizuki and Vueriz into some kind of danger that almost got them all killed. He frowned as he continued to shift through some of the boxes, frowning the whole time. "...I guess that's the difference between someone who has powers, and someone who knows how to use them. They might not have been the strongest, but they knew how to fight and how to fight together, and they turned us inside out." If he had powers, which he did, they hadn't really helped him much; he'd been as chewed up and spit out as Vueriz, really, and he was weighing it heavily. That he'd not been enough, that he couldn't do enough, and that others had almost gotten killed over it; not that they had almost been hurt, because they'd clearly all been hurt, but that he'd risked lives over his own ineptitude. He sighed again. Mizuki's words woke him up enough that he looked around. "Yeah. Okay. Let's take a look down below. See if we can find anyone." Meanwhile, Sam looked quite surprised at seeing Michael and Vueriz, and whatever she'd been arguing with Michael passed in an instant as she floated over to them. "Michael, Vueriz, uh...I'm glad you're okay? I saw Mizuki out in the water. I wasn't expecting you two to be around to...I'm glad you aren't uh...well more hurt." she said, floating back and forth between both of them and expressing genuine concern for all three of the actual Superheroes. "Here, I've got some bandages." she said, reaching into her jacket and starting to apply them to each of the three in turn. "...Thanks Sam." Michael said with a smile. "Still need to find those people though."
The Sailor Posted November 23 Posted November 23 Torpedo Lass "Star, Sam, head down below deck and look to see if those people the sharks were talking about are down there. I'm going to head up to the bridge. Blue, want to come along? I need a chief engineer here..." She started to hover up the stairs to get up to what would be called a "bridge" for a yacht this size and headed over to the controls. "What happened in here?!?!" She noticed the jury-rigging Blue Bolt did to get the ship in reverse.
Kaede Kimura Posted November 27 Posted November 27 Blue Bolt Vueriz gave a lethargic salute to Sam as she arrived, breaking out of the gloomy silence that she and Michael had been in, "Yeah we got pretty beat up. I think Michael got the worse of it though." She accepted the bandage around her forehead with her remaining scraps of dignity, before turning to receive instructions from Mizuki. She had to admit that being 'chief engineer' sounded pretty cool, and responded to Mizuki's commands with an only half-joking "Aye-aye, captain!" Vueriz waved with some shred of her remaining energy to the other pair as she followed into the ruins of the control room. I'm response to Mizuki's question she shrugged and explained. "Shark guys put speed to max and then broke the controls to stop us from stopping the ship. I managed to open up the control panel and reverse the input cable so that we were in full reverse instead. I might be able to fix the controls now that we have more time? Or I could just sit under the control bench and activate wires as you need them."
Poncho Posted November 27 Author Posted November 27 (Golden Star Post) "Uh..." Michael paused a bit to grasp how quick Mizuki was at getting out orders, Michael was still a bit frazzled; he never was good at losing, even amongst other Superheroes, so he seemed a bit unclear. However, Sam didn't have an issue with it, grabbing his hand quickly. "You got it, let's go Mike." She responded. "We'll take a look." She said as she pulled him down below decks. The pair of Paragons descended below the deck as Mizuki and Vueriz made their way to the controls. The wires and panels sputtered with electricity as the pair watched. It wasn't moving right now, but mostly because it was both trying to go forward and go backwards at the same time. But a bit more effort could be spent repairing and guiding this machine into somewhere acceptable. The main question was what were Mizuki and Vueriz going to do to execute this; the yacht could still be salvaged, returned to it's mooring post before it got too late at night.
The Sailor Posted November 28 Posted November 28 Torpedo Lass Mizuki massaged her temples... she wasn't outwardly bleeding now, but in the water she was losing some. Enough to be light headed. "If you can... Blue... shut down the engines without cutting power from the batteries." She stumbles to the radio. "I can radio to... the Coast Guard... and... they can handle the rest." She said slumping into the captain's chair. And get us over near shore away from the city first. *she points over to a spot she knows is out of the common boating lanes, particularly for commercial shipping vessels. "I think if we can get the steering working... as normal... I can... get us... over there."
Kaede Kimura Posted December 8 Posted December 8 Blue Bolt Vueriz nodded along with Mizuki's instructions, worried as she spoke in her slow, almost slurred cadence. Mizuki had clearly also been through the wringer, and she didn't know enough to guess if this was serious or just somethingto sleep off. That concern wasn't going to stop her from following Mizuki's instructions. One of the advantages of being a super genius was that she could both worry and catch what is being said. Step one, cut power to the engines, not not the battery. Step two, radio the Coast Guard (That was Mizuki's job, but still good to remember.) Step three, fix steering. She could do that, well, except the middle one, but what were friends for? Once again she scampered under the desk to mess with wires. Quickly she zeroed out the input wires so that he ship would stop moving. She found the emergency stop, but wasn't sure if it would deactivate the batteries, so decided to leave it. Finally she pulled free the steering, attaching a small piece of metal in place of the shattered steering wheel. This she handed to Mizuki. "Pretty sure I'll have to go to the engine to fully turn it off, but it's not pushing us anywhere for now."
Poncho Posted December 9 Author Posted December 9 (GM Post) The Ship was, with the aid of Vueriz and Mizuki, carefully pulled back into the moorings that it had been in before the entire mess had started. Excluding the holes in it, the weapons strewn about it, the exploded and destroyed railings and fragments, it could have looked exactly like before it had left. So it didn't really look anything like it had when it left. But Michael and Sam returned from under the decks a little bit after it had been pulled to a stop, with a man who clearly had rope burns on his wrists and was rubbing them to get circulation back. "...Thanks." he said to Torpedo Lass and Blue Bolt. "These two filled me in that you two helped save me. I'm Preston DeCosta. This is, well, my yacht." he noted, looking around. In his mid 30s or so, with a scruffy beard. He looked the part of an inheritor of money- which he likely was if he was a DeCosta, likely a grandson of the well known Frank "Buddy" DeCosta. "Though it looks more like a war zone. Not that that's your fault; I know that the people who attacked me were giant mutant sharks, not some teenaged Superheroes. So yeah. Thanks for saving this ship. And me. I have no idea why they were taking me to, or why, but you've cut it out, so I'm thankful." he smiled. "I've got a lot of repair work to do on here, but you all look pretty bad yourselves. If you need a doctor or something, I'll gladly pay for whatever treatment you need. It's the least I can do for you presumably saving my life, or something close to it."
The Sailor Posted December 12 Posted December 12 Torpedo Lass II She knew she lost some blood, even though the bleeding's stopped. She also knew Claremont's facilities could handle what they've suffered, but seeing V and Spaceman tore up like they were, she knew there would be some explaining to do. She leaned against a rail for a moment. "I personally am ok... shook up and exhausted, but okay." She said. "Any idea what those... things were looking for?" "Other than ramming this thing into a bridge?"
