Dracostern Posted October 12 Posted October 12 Cerebral and Cerebellum "Wait? Talk to him? What?" Iris looked at Betsy in confusion before everything seemed to happen all at once. From Pitch walking up to the demon and poking it awake with her shotgun. Then Featherweight just telling them what they were doing here instead of trying to trick him. Both twins actually stopped floating and fell to the ground in surprise, trying to realtionalise what the hell was going on right now. The new hero, Featherweight, would notice that these two seemed completely out of their depth here also.
Tiffany Korta Posted October 15 Posted October 15 The Immutable Betsy Brooks "Oh for Goddess sake!" she'd had volunteered, not out of bravado but because she was immune to just about anything but literal hellfire. She shrugged, time, as usual, to improvise So apparently it was the day for everyone to improvise, still, another voice wouldn't cause any harm to confuse the big lummox of a demon. "Hi, Elizabeth Brooks of the Essex Brooks. You might have had some dealings with my Great-grandfather, who got himself involved with some culty with a literal Hellfire Club?" her vampire side was for a later conversation "Consider this would we be so confident, especially without any magical swords or holy water, unless we had an ace up our sleeves? Best really to let us pass and avoid any messy trouble, for you obviously!"
Kaede Kimura Posted October 16 Author Posted October 16 GM The blubbery demon seemed impressed with Pitch's cigar and attitude, but overall just rather confused. Especially about the barrel of rocksalt. "Like, a big barrel or a little one? That's gotta be expensive..." He mimed with his hands as he spoke, revealing that he was clearly thinking of a wooden barrel rather than a gun barrel. At the question about the room, he seemed quite proud, "This is the entry chamber to the Profanum Profanorum, the most powerful defensive structure known to all of magic! It used to be full of traps but the new Mistress removed them recently. Said 'If there's no traps in the entry room it'll be more of a surprise when there's one in the second!' She's clever like that." He looks down at his toe, bound just slightly too tight to be comfortable for a normal person as Pitch asks. "That was my idea! I can sleep while guarding as long as I have it attached to the door, that way when sneaky heroes try open it it wakes me up. Clever, right?" Featherweight looks askance at the twins, seeming to seek commiseration as to how strange the situation is. "Uh, yeah. Clever. Is there a gas leak in here?" "No, the gas trap was removed too." She looked like she wanted to reply when Betsy Brooks spoke up, referring to her family history in the Occult. He scratched his chin as he stared at her, clearly trying to puzzle out some grand mystery. "I think I might know that name..." The demon ponders for a moment longer before shrugging. He looks a bit askance at her statement about having an ace up their sleeves, before replying "Or maybe you're just really overconfident. Besides, the new Mistress gave me this job personally! I'm not gonna let you pass that easily!"
Supercape Posted October 16 Posted October 16 Pitch "Huh! No traps in here, right?! Just what somebody would say if there were traps in here and they wanted to fool everyone into relaxing there guard! I don't believe you for a moment!" Pitch let out a snorting laugh, but pulled the shotgun away. It looked cool, but wasn't doing anything. "And who is this new Mistress of yours?" she asked. "Because her ass is going to be kissing my boot very shortly..." She looked over to her mob of demon-busters. "New Mistress? What do you think?" She raised an eyebrow, blazed her eyes. "I wouldn't trust anything that comes out of a demons mouth, as a rule. Unless the truth is helping them somehow."
Dracostern Posted November 10 Posted November 10 (edited) Cerebral and Cerebellum Iris glanced at Featherweight and shrugged her shoulders. "I highly doubt it. I think things are just this crazy." She activated her force field and stands up before Daniel rushed out in front of her. "Daniel wait!"" she called out in his head but he ignored her and moved up next to Betsy and Pitch. He wijkd activate his own forcefield and shake his head. "No traps? Sounds suspicious....but how do we get past this guy?" Edited November 13 by Dracostern
Tiffany Korta Posted November 13 Posted November 13 The Immutable Betsy Brooks Demon didn't need help that often, but you heard gossip among other supernatural (and boy did they like to gossip). And they were generally predictable, especially the big dumb types like this! "Superhero types, am I right?" she put herself between the twins and gave a full cheesy smile, including her sharp incisors "Look I know you don't want to guard this, much rather go out causing havoc among those pesky mortals!" "Tell me what going on here and we'll let you play a special game of Roulette, the Russian type, with my friends here! If you win we'll take over and let you go out and about among the people! Can't say fairer than that?"
Kaede Kimura Posted November 14 Author Posted November 14 GM The demon looked mildly put out at Pitch's comment about tricking then into thinking there were no traps. He stands there for a moment scratching at his chin in confusion, but the instant she asks about the 'new Mistress' he breaks into a big smile. It dies quickly as she continues however. "Nuh uh, you heroes will be bowing before the might of of Lady Malagara Reborn!" He looks between the heroes as they start discussing whether the room is trapped a look of consternation upon his face. Featherweight looked between the increasingly confused demon and the other heroes, before palming a brick from nowhere, "We could always test if there's any traps?" Betsy cut in before the demon seemed I have time to process the heroine's suggestion, drawing the fiend's attention. His near constant consternation fades as Betsy explains her scheme, intrigue and glee upon his face in equal measure. "Ooh, gambling! That sounds fun! What do you get if you win?" Featherweight for her part just grumbles under her breath, "Some aspirin if this ends up to be the standard of this place."
Supercape Posted November 14 Posted November 14 (edited) Pitch "Lady Malagra, eh? Well I know all about her!" said Pitch, who knew nothing at all about Lady Malagra. But damned if the damned were going to know that. She raised an eyebrow and a smile at Featherweight. "Did you bring your ten foot wooden pole to test for traps?" Gambling was fun, but a game of Russian Roulette? Pitch's spinal tattoo gave her unnatural resilience, but she wasn't quite bulletproof. A gun to her temple? That was something she didn't fancy testing. Still, the die was cast, and she would play along. "Russian Roulette? excellent idea!" she said, and spun to Betsy, mouthing are you mad? Dracostern Posted November 30 Posted November 30 Cerebral and Cerebellum The twins blinked as Betzy got in between them and the demon. Daniel didn't mind though, he was going to see some amazing stuff! Iris, on the other hand, was both extremely confused and extremely concerned. Lady Malagra huh? Seems as though they had a target now. That was better then a faceless horde. Still something about this entire thing did not sit right with her. Also what was this about Russian Roulette?! She raised an eyebrow but didn't say anything. Meanwhile, upon hearing the Russian Roulette, even Daniel felt a little put off. His smile faded a bit as he finally understood the implications. Both twins looked at each other and came to the same conclusion... We are so out of our depth. So they decided to let the adults handle this.
Tiffany Korta Posted December 1 Posted December 1 The Immutable Betsy Brooks "Just a minute I need to talk with my college here!" She leaned in and whispered into Pitch's ear "Just a guess but you, like me, have been into a few dive bars through the years. This demon here is like the kind of bouncers you get there, dumb but imposing and told what to do by the smarter staff..." She paused for effect before adding "Besides all we need to do is get him to go first, and if you're worried about a second I'll take the shot myself!" One advantage of a vampire in your lineage was a general toughness that tended to help in her line of work.
Supercape Posted December 1 Posted December 1 Pitch "Dive bars? Why, I wouldn't know what you are talking about, honey?" she said with a wink and a friendly sneer. She took the shotgun away from the Demon, laying it across her shoulders. "So yeah, Russian Roulette. Tons of fun, at least five sixths of the time! But we don't have a revolver, do we?" She swung her shotgun back in front of her. "Unless you want to use this ol' thing? Might even be a new game. Shotgun Roulette? I got some loaded with rocksalt, some with lead. Both will sting, but one will also paint the walls with bits of your brain. Chuck all the shells in a bag, pick em out and load em up?"
