cosmicarus Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 Valkyrie Valkyrie suddenly felt that she'd inherited the weight of the world! Her shoulders sagged under, what seemed to be, incredibly heavy grey energy. She glared at the armoured man who seemed to be the cause of her current distress - I think it's safe to say that these guys are casing the joint. Her legs pushed hard against the floor, straining to stay upright. Her knees ached! Suddenly, however, it all stopped. Valkyrie's legs passed through the floor, and the rest of her body followed - thank the powers for that little trick! She wasted no time in getting back into the fight - these guys may be able to throw their weight around... quite literally. Coming back up through the floor, Valkyrie strikes the man who had attacked her. She's a little anxious, hitting her first villain, but is satisfied at least when she hears the crunch of her thought-based form on the metal of the armour.

Veiled Malice Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 Nanowire could only watch as the two heroic types moved in on Heavy, nailing him twice. They were going a lot faster than he had expected, which was some suprise, seeing as how he had expected them to move like quicksilver. The checkerboard-wearing girl was faster, no doubt about it, but looked fairly vulnerable otherwise. Using his stronger attacks might kill her, which meant that was out. Full plate was going to get the full brunt of his powers, though. "I'm sorry, but we can't give you a tour of the grounds!" Nanowire took a swing at her, drilling her with a punch that knocked her back five feet. At least he'd gotten more distance out of her than he'd been able to against Heavy.

Heridfel Posted December 10, 2007 Author Posted December 10, 2007 Heavy staggers as the two women team up against him. One he can't hit, and it looked like the other one could move through the floor. He was about to start flying, so that she wouldn't be able to get around his gravitic field that easily, when he remembered that it would mean unbalancing the concentration he'd need to port Nanowire and himself out of the museum. Nanowire not taking his advice doesn't come as a great surprise. "It's important to remember that he's just a kid," Heavy thinks, "but that doesn't mean that I don't want to wring his neck sometimes." He's faced with a decision - team up on the semi-tangible one, or try to hit the super-speedster. Since Nanowire was already able to hit the first one, he knew that at least she was solid for now, and that means that it's a good time for an attack. The beam that had wrapped itself around Valkyrie now totally retracts into the suit. Heavy turns, swinging hard at the plate armor-clad woman. He misses totally, giving the women another chance to hit him. Rather than leave himself totally open, he keeps moving towards the place where they had entered (and where he had pointed last round), hoping that they'll keep after him.

Thevshi Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 Velocity watched as the bad guy that looked something like a robot hit Valkyrie. She seemed to not be much affected by the hit, but with both trying to beat on her, it could be bad. So the speedster shifts her target to Nanowire, zooming over towards him and taking a swing that misses. She then moves fifty feet past him down the hallway, coming to a halt and facing back towards the fight.

cosmicarus Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 Valkyrie Rose shudders - she was very lucky not to have been done some serious damage from that last blow. It seems the other guy was stronger than he looks. This whole thing suddenly seemed a lot more real than it had ten minutes ago. She begins to fly away, but knows that she can't leave - especially since there was someone else involved. She had to stay. She turned around and drove right for the smaller one, lashing out as hard as she could - too hard, it seemed, as her blow flew wide. This time however, she wasn't going to stand by and let them attack her at will. Rose flew back into the foyer, coming to rest behind the reception desk - divide and conquer. If she was a proper biological being, her heart would be pounding and her breath would be quick as she watched the two combatants closely.

Veiled Malice Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 Surprisingly enough, the two women seemed unable to hit Nanowire. One sped past him at blurring speeds, perhaps too fast for her to keep up with. The other missed for a far easier to understand reason - she overextended herself on the punch, and just barely managed to avoid leaving herself in a perfect position for a counterattack. Now both had fled to what they believed was a safe standoff distance. They were wrong, of course. All that remained was to make them aware of that fact. As Nanowire prepared his next assault, he paused for a moment, almost stumbling under the weight of his realization. Was this really him? Was stealing things and hurting people really the way he wanted to spend his life? He came to Freedom City to get out; become human again. None of this was part of the plan, much less what he was preparing to do. Then the cold, logical part of his brain knocked him back on track. These people were in his way. There was no other consideration other than that. Renichi would become human again, but first, he needed to clear out of here. The shortest path between two points was, and always would be a straight line - through them. The seams of Nanowire's armor opened up, revealing row after row of razor-sharp needles. With no preamble, and no consideration for property damage, he let fly with all of them at once. The foyer turned into a hellish storm of metal shards, propelled at mach 8 by magnetic accelerators, annihilating everything in their path. Immediately after the shot, Nanowire's head came up sharply. "What... what have I done?" he lamented, his voice lost to the sound of shredding masonry and furniture.

Heridfel Posted December 11, 2007 Author Posted December 11, 2007 Heavy recognizes the signs of Nanowire's impending attack, dodging the worst of the strike. Despite that, his injury slows him down, and for an instant, it looks like he's about to be stunned. However, he reaches down into his reserves - his reserves, not the armor's - and doesn't let the bits of shrapnel slow him down. In the confusion, he runs over to Nanowire, hoisting him up on the shoulder of the arm that isn't carrying the spear and booking it towards the place where they entered. He tries to keep Nanowire's hands pointed away from him, in case Nanowire tries another attack like that.

Thevshi Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 Velocity looked back at the two armored robbers as one seemed to open small ports on his armor and unleashed a stream of metal shards into the air. Though the projectiles were moving at incredible speed, to Velocity’s eyes, they were moving far, far slower. The teenage heroine started dodging and twisting, maneuvering herself through the shards, somehow able to avoid being touched by any of them. Coming to a halt again as the wave of destruction rolled by her, she looked around at all the destruction and then back at the one who had caused it. “You know this is coming out of your allowance right?â€Â

Thevshi Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 Velocity glanced over and saw that the other heroine seemed unhurt by the barrage as well, she then focused back on the two armored villains as the one that looked sort of like Daedalus grabbed the other and started to run for it. In a flash she was passing by the pair, her right fist swinging out towards the Deadalus wanna-be. “Your not going anywhere!†She said as she passed by. “You have a big mess to clean up here.†She continued on past the pair another fifty feet, heading in the direction they had been moving as she came to a stop facing them.
