Torpedo Lass II

There was no use trying to tell Puma no... They were obviously being drawn out, but at this point Jenny expected aid the moment she was attacked.

There was more... There is ALWAYS more...

Torpedo Lass took to the skies keeping at just the right altitude, making sure she could see if there was anyone else on the roofs, but also to get a better view of Puma, their high-value escort, and the first opponent... Highstrike.

Mizuki wasted no time in charging up and tossing a orb of blue energy at Highstrike her arm dramatically fluttering her black poncho-like cloak. Her eyes glowing with even more ferocity.

Ring the bell... dinner is served... she thought as the blast hit it's target. But there was no satisfaction. The night was young.

Puma's kick caught the red skinned man straight in the back, and he went flying, going into a tree with a crunch, before Torpedo Lass' blast of energy caught him in the chest and sent him flying through another hotdog cart, exploding it as well before he crashed into a fire hydrant and it began spewing water.

"Di...did anyone get the number...of that truck." he asked in confusion before Puma hit him again and he went skidding across the ground.

"Wh...what's happening...???" he asked, concussed and baffled at the two heroes suddenly appearing to stop him. "Wh..when did Jennifer get...more friends...?" Jennifer herself had wisely gotten out of dodge, leaving the baffled and beaten Highstrike facing down the two women as he was stumbling around, trying to catch his breath.

"Grus...Grus...I need help...." he mumbled. "Grus..."

Puma and Sailor seemed to be like a one-two combination as they attacked in tandem with one another to hit this red and long armed individual. They didn't really know what his while schtick was, but it sure seemed villainous at first glance as she lashed out, followed by blue ball of energy that struck him quickly right after keeping him pinned up bit after destroying a cart and fire hydrant. It was a good thing there wasn't that many people nearby as destruction of property seemed to be a common occurrence in hero fights with villains, not that she was trying to commit more destruction. Though, the feline part of her brain seemed to enjoy it a bit as she came at the guy once again, claws out and ready to slash. A quick mover, even as she moved to strike him once more, she was still deadly swift. Something had clicked recently, and she was on point it seemed today.

"This!" she'd mock him as the werecat ducked in low at the last second, striking with a mean uppercut with her claws, "Not so tough being on the opposite end of a two on one huh!"

She has seen enough. She rotates in mid air, an energy blast forming in her hand as the black rain poncho she was wearing fluttered. Looking almost like some form of fighting game finishing move or someone hitting Q in a hero shooter. "Skadoosh."

She throws the energy orb and it smacks Highstrike square in the head knocking him off his feet and to the pavement. Out Cold.

But she doesn't enjoy the thrill of downing a villain. Last time she managed she ended up with multiple scars on her back.

Lowering her altitude to below the skyline but keeping to the sky, she observed the battlefield above Jenny's location. "Puma... you watch the ground, I'll keep an eye to the air. I don't think he was alone."

Puma could see the concern on TL's face. Something was eating at her. A memory.

The slenderman went down like bricks as the two Heroines successfully downed him, crumbling into a ball on the pavement and down hard. Shadows curled around him, wrapping him in a cocoon of impenetrable blackness layer by layer by layer, then starting to shrink. It collapsed inward, sinking and dragging, and as it finally collapsed totally in on itself, there was no Highstrike, just a black outline of his last place.

For a moment there was total quiet. A fight had broken out, but it had been so swiftly dealt with as to avoid even the slightest casualty. Had it really been so easy? The Heroines clearly didn't think so. And that was the wise decision.

But someone outperformed their caution.

It sounded like a cannon going off, if a cannon fired bolts of lightning. A single brilliant beam of white and blue that lanced across the skyline of Lincoln. From an old church a few blocks away, directly at Carmen, and directly piercing through into the ground. It hung in the air like a zipline for a moment, threatening to connect Carmen directly to the woman on the other end; a redskinned, slender woman with elfin ears and her long hair pulled into a ponytail, her eyes a glowing silver, her weapon a strange combination of a rifle and a crossbow. The bolt of magical energy and lightning, the same bolt that had almost killed Jennifer Kwan, Sentry Scorpio, was aiming to pierce through La Puma Negra the exact same way it had almost struck the Sentry.

Meanwhile, a much more heavyset red skinned man, hunched over like a gorilla, was not so hidden; he leapt from roof to roof despite his bulky frame, towards Mizuki. He'd be there soon, ready to fight her head on.

"You don't got to tell me twice Torpedo. If one of these weirdos came to get here, I'm sure the other two are..." Puma spoke as she scanned surveyed the area. Even with her heightened sense of smell, sight, and hearing couldn't let her detect in time the elven appearing woman that was now taking her straight in her sights. A blue streak of light, solid in appearance and moving quicker than most was heading right towards her, and in that split second, her ear twitched, the pull of a trigger and the sound of the magical like bolt itself. Puma jumped to the side in a split second, feeling the motion of the air as it swept past her. If she had been a slit second too late, she'd be likely in no worse shape than the Sentry was, and Carmen was in no want or need to be suffering how Jenny was.

Puma's breathing was hard and partially panicked, taking a look to wherever the two impacted and then back towards the new arrivals, "Well, guess there's the other two," she says before refocusing herself and heading straight towards the bug bruiser heading right towards Mizuki. Quick movement would follow as she got back into a solid groove with impressive footwork before coming around with a spinning clawed kick. Such was that this destructive furred heroine was maybe just as much a terror as what nearly hit her, striking the hulking red being so hard that he was taken down in only a few seconds, taking them off their feet to skid away out of action.

She wheeled quickly to the point from where the sniper's shot came from. When she heard the crunch of Puma putting the lights out of the second hunter, TL knew what to so. She took off in the direction of the shot shouting "SNIPER" as loud as she could. She knew Puma could hear her, but also this would start to draw attention from the action on the ground. Then she saw her... Grus...

She cocked back her leg with blue energy going into it as she tossed a dragon-kick looking move. But Grus was more than prepared, dodging the flurry of warp energy her kick threw before blocking the leg itself pushing TL away until the two were face to face, with TL hovering in front of her.

"Scorpio's toxic fans, I presume?"

Mizuki's eyes flared white.

The heavyset, red-skinned man collapsed like a pile of bricks, falling off the roof. He turned black and was surrounded by layers of darkness. When his body would have hit the ground, it just disappeared instead, falling into the same blackness that had taken Highstrike.

Meanwhile, Grus had clearly not been expecting any of this and seemed to almost shriek in terror as Torpedo Lass II hit her, leaping backwards off the force of the blow and skidding across the tiles of the roof.

"Vela! Vela!" she screamed. "VELA GET ME OUT OF HERE!" she yelled up at the sky. The clouds started to churn above her as she hurled a net made of magic at Torpedo Lass II, Then her forehead flashed with the symbol of Volans, The Flying Fish, and she disappeared in a spurt of water and reappeared on another rooftop. So she had captured other Sentry powers, just like Jennifer had claimed she had.

"Stay away from me!" She yelled at the two of them, baring sharp teeth like a fox at the teen heroines. "The powers are ours! The Umbra Star is ours! Enoch, that blasted weasel, has ruined our world!"

Puma's apparent strength was something else it appeared entirely after smashing the hulkish red being off the roof itself, she was now in partial hot pursuit alongside Torpedo to go after Gru. The villainous Gru seemed to call out for someone, a Vela, bust she didn't recall or know whom that was as she found an angle, just as Torpedo lobbed a shot. Its impact was made but Gru seemed to shrug it off as she leapt backwards on, a perfect opportunity to try out a new toy that she developed after long years at Claremont as she pulled from skinny belt around her waist. Puma would twirl them around in her hands, three balls made of a particular hard rubberized material, just enough to give them proper weight when throwing. Tied together, the three were connected by hard rope, playing with them almost as she aimed right for Grus.

"Let's try something different here. How about my bola volley!" she says proudly before throwing them out towards Grus, right towards her lets and tripping the strange elven like sniper on her first try. She'd continue to get closer "Ha, how about that. It worked."

No breathing room...

Mizuki immediately flew at Grus, cutting it off in a way where she would not only have the momentum but the sheer force added to her next punch, Her fist glowed a fierce whitish blue as she came down like a Tigress leaping at her prey.

But the one energetic fist suddenly looked like several... this was Torpedo Lass' signature melee attack... Her Hull Breaking Strikes!

"FIRE ALL TUBES!" She shouted, her punches slamming into the elf, Mizuki then slid from the momentum of the attack taking a 3-point stance behind Grus. She could see that barrage stung. And she was enjoying this.

The elf went flying again, wrapped up in the bolas and hit hard by Mizuki, and she went flying off the roof, crashing through the windows of another building with a sound like a firework going off and the glass shattering into a million pieces and falling into the street. She was still bound up, trying to get back to her feet.

Above, the clouds had finished parting, and a single star was shining brighter than the others, pointing down at the neighborhood.

"Vela...help...Vela..." she whimpered, reaching up at the sky.

Puma was grinning, naturally seeing how apparently easy that was, or maybe, how lucky they were as memory served these sorts of situations typically could lead to rather nasty and drag down fights between the bad guys and them. Maybe it was the adrenaline as well that was coursing through her as she watched Torpedo Lass launch all tubes and lay upon a fierce barrage of fists down upon Grus. A fierce smacking down that smashed the elven woman right off the roof and into another building. Even then she was still not taken out by the strikes, making it so that likely they would have to come down and make her stay down as Puma came right at her with a leap, bringing her leg down for a clawed axe kick, using the toes instead of the heel as one normally would, modifying her style.

"You're not calling for anyone, so give up!" she let out as she came down to try and hit her. There was a wonder if this Vela person was responsible for all this, some other third party that wasn't here at the moment, or someone that supposed to be coming as reinforcements.

There was no restraint at this point. The threat this individual posed required an immediate reaction. Her eyes were flaring white as she lept again from her position, amplified by her flight into an arc that came down once again on Grus, but this time from directly above. This time Grus and even Puma saw something different in Mizuki's eyes. Instead of the diciplined soldier-like persona she presented when doing her usual heroics, this was a wounded animal... or at least an animal that at one time was wounded that now showed no quarter.

"I'M STOPPING YOUR HUNT, RIGHT NOW! RAMMING SPEED!" Once again as she threw her punch several other arms and fists seemingly made from warped spacetime appear around her in a blur hammering down on the sniper again.

With her fluttering black poncho behind her it became apparent... Mizuki was trying to become a weapon... not a hero... not a paragon... but a missile. An angry, hurt, cruise missile. Leaping into the fray perhaps even with reckless abandon.

She had something to prove tonight. Villains get her once... no more. Her teammates count on her not to fold. She won't fold again.

The ground cracked and then collpased under Grus as she was struck by Carmen and then Mizuki; the dilapetated building wasn't able to hold up to the Superhumans going into combat, and while Grus was showing a surprising amount of resilience- or more like a craven's ability to always slink away before being damaged-, the building wasn't built like her, and she  fell down to the first floor in a pile of rubble, getting back to her feet in a daze.

"Get away from me! I'm not going into the amber! I'm not getting sealed away! Back off! Back off! Back! Off!" she screamed at the two heroines.

Puma cheered on Torpedo, "Way to go!"

Grus seemed to keep on going though even with the good deal of damage that she was taking, having been hit now by both Puma and Carmen several times back-to-back. Puma could have sworn that Mizuki's last attack, sending her right through the very floor itself in this old and abandoned building. Whomever the elven lady was, she could take a hit better than that big guy could from all appearances, which in her mind made her far more dangerous, feeling that while she may be taking a beating, even a cornered mouse could bite a stalking cat no less.

"Well, a cold cell might be better for ya!" she growls out before coming down hard with a claw axe kick, attempting to hit her, which she would, slamming own hard with her claws. It was another powerful strike, one that was a bit of payback for hurting Scorp. Carmen may not like her and the gaggle she belonged to, but they still weren't all that bad, especially now after the whole star stuff they had to deal with. She'd flip back, keeping away, letting Torpedo room to do as she wanted to work with.

Mizuki hovered off the ground moving towards Grus... bits of debris being pushed aside by her warp fields. This was a different Torpedo Lass entirely.

"To be fair, Elf... if you were so worried about the cost of failure, you wouldn't have declared war in my city... and for what?"

Her fists glowed as she lept into the air again from her hover, throwing herself into the sniper again with fists of fury. "AND AGAIN!"

She pummeled the sniper again, this time looking to knock her upward off her feet, practically juggling the surprisingly tough elven sniper. She lets her fall down with a thud, seeing she was still moving. Mizuki hovered right by Grus' Head her eyes showing she's restraining herself with a white almost like lightning. "Surrender. We got people who can protect you... but your night... your hunt... is over." She sighed. "This is your last offer... whatever you choose from here on... is your choice. Make the right one."

"...V...ela..." Grus whined, looking up in a daze at Mizuki and Carmen. "...V..ela."

Then the entire building lit up blue. The air exploded in a loud, droning sound, and a beam of bright blue light ripped through it; from far above the clouds, going directly down, it blasted straight through the floors of the building all the way down to where Grus was sprawled on the ground and engulfed her like a bolt of lightning the size of an SUV.  Grus floated off the ground; the light was so bright that all that was really visible was her outline in an infinite void of white, with a blue outline around the cylindrical beam.

For a moment she hung there, her limbs hanging down below her body in an undignified manner, like she was being picked up by the belt by a giant. Then she was slowly wrapped in black, layer after layer like her two henchmen, before she disappeared, gone.

Where she was, laying almost innocently on the ground, was a crystal the color of brackish water, with the constellation of the Fish- Volans- on it, smoking slightly. In her flight, she had not been allowed to keep her prize.

Watched as yet again the hunter had become the prey, Grus being struck hard by Mizuki's strikes. This last attack must have been it as the fight seemed to completely leave Grus, hearing her last and final words before what next occurred. A light, blue in color. It was such a massive beam of light, Puma shielding her eyes as she tried to peer upon what was happening there, gritting her teeth as she tried to move to get over towards Grus's unconscious form as she then began to float in the very air itself. It was being picked up in the air, strung up before them as she tried to grab at, but just as she got close again, the same thing that happened to the other henchman occurred, wrapped in a blanket of black before disappearing without a trace. This was all save for a strange crystal that fell before their feet.

Puma cautiously would move to pick it up, looking upon the constellation that was upon it, "I think we got her?" she said, looking upon the crystal itself.

"We'll have to secure that. Let the adults figure out what the heck is going on."

She took off her poncho and wrapped the object with it. Almost reverently.

"Seems whoever her boss is has a low tolerance for failure. I'll do a once-over of the area to check on if anything else has happened. Find Jenny and see if she's fully functional."

She looked about the area... smashed and crashed. "Man... did I do this?"

It was lost on her just how much she was doing with her hits... but then again Puma was delivering the goods too.

"I'm here." Jennifer called, peeking around the door of the dilapidated building at the destructoon wrought in just a few short minutes. "I was following the action from below. Kinda easy to, given the carnage y'all were creating." She said stepping in gingerly.

"...I have no idea who she stole that power from, but it's definitely not hers. Hopefully it goes back to where it belongs before too long." She said with a sigh. "Sometimes it's fast, sometimes it takes awhile. It's just more magic stuff I don't really understand." She finished.

"As for her boss, well...she is an evil queen of a dimension of evil, shadowbound elf creatures with knives for hands and scales for skin so...probably not the best."

"Jeez Scorp, with how close she almost hit me with that sniper attack, no wonder how it must have hurt," Carmen says in a sort of greeting to Jennifer as she came back. From her understanding, and her heightened senses, there didn't seem to be any need for fighting for the time being, "Guess I should apologize a bit. That Grus was and her friends could have been super deadly. Menos mal que los detuvimos."

Looking around, Carmen would peer up to the sky out of the now even more wrecked building. It was already abandoned, not the first time she had fought in one, and at the least relaxed that it wasn't full of demonic kidnapped children. At least it was this time not occupied by such a thing. That rod had been given to AEGIS, though at times she still hears the strange call of it, as if an echo of what was. She didn't like that very much.

"So what now?"

Posted

Torpedo Lass II

"We'll take this stone back to the school and present it to the administration... whoever is on duty can get it secured until AEGIS or whoever seems the best equipped to handle this can sort it out."

She slings her makeshift bag over her shoulder. "Otherwise our part in this is done for now... Although I'm certain they're gonna be sending another hit squad sooner rather than later."

"Do you have powers of your own... or are you... well... just you?" She chose her words carefully. "Claremont can help if you're powered... or well trained for that matter... but I'm not sure how much further I can help other than some advice... you're gonna have to talk to the big capes sooner or later. This extra-dimensional stuff is just going to get more... insistant... over time."

"Whatever trouble you might get in won't be nearly as bad as what these hunters or this queen have in store. And you'd have better protection. I'm not saying turn yourself in, I'm saying help those who could help you."

"Yeah, she wasn't playing around. She's always been a bit of a coward, running off at the slightest trouble, but that doesn't mean she's worthless...she's just as dangerous as the others, but harder to pin down. But that whopping you gave her should keep her away for awhile at least, so that's beneficial to us."

But while she didn't tense up at Mizuki, she shook her head, a little cautious.

"We can't just...it's not exactly like that. TL." she said carefully. "There's reasons for all of this stuff, and we're not just gonna turn ourselves over to the cops or the truancy officers or whatever just because." she said, taking a step back. "We've got each other, and for now that's all we need...even if it's straining a little. We're not going to abandon each other; everyone else abandoned us. Parents, School, Friends. Just the five of us. So none of us are going to abandon each other anytime soon, you know?" she said. She was being much nicer than the previous time, when they'd broken out in fist fights, but she was still guarded, not fully trusting, not wanting to get too close.

"We're still Sentries, we still have our powers. And we're not giving them up. Enoch gave them to us, to protect them from Sola. And he's dead now, so it's our job to do what he entrusted us with."
