Avalanche looks like a speed skater carved out of solid sliver. Mostly androgynous in appearance, but with a male lean, Avalanche's design is an extra mimicry of a speed skater wearing their full suit; their head caves back conically, their limbs are long, and they are slender and smooth. The center of their forehead has a single, large jewel, the White Viridian that gives them sentience and awakened them. When they use their speed, they produced long, sharp blades from their feet and skate on the ice they create. Because they are openly a Superhero, they don't have a normal identity or similar, meaning they have no human form or anything like that.

 

History

 

Only recently awakened, Avalanche is a creation by Francis K. Celius based on half of his prototype powered armor. He was then empowered by the large chunk of White Viridian that Kesscorp's current head of R&D, Joseph Jackson, obtained alongside the other colors during an expedition into the Emerald Mountains. The individual whose personality he's based on is currently a highly classified secret in Kesscorp, but recently awakened, Avalanche is working to manage his new Superheroic duties and find his place in a world he has suddenly found himself in. His creator, Francis, is a bit of an oddball, and got his job back after an encounter with the Emerald Spider, but he only went insane due to the Yellow Viridian he was exposed to. With it removed, he has become a reasonable, if a bit strange, individual.

 

Personality & Motivation

 

Avalanche is a fair player who wants to help others. He may not know who he was based on, and he may not understand everything about the world just yet, but he has a desire to be fair to others and a willingness to see it through. He wants to explore his new life, and doesn't take the fact he was given a unique chance and gift; the gift of life, for granted. But he's still learning, so he's likely to make mistakes in doing so.

 

Powers & Tactics

 

Avalanche's powers are based on the research of Francis Celius, who created a suit of powered armor that was able to manipulate the temperature. His design is made with space-age materials and uses proprietary Kesscorp equipment to generate his speed. However, part of his speed is dependent on draining the heat from the surrounding area and channeling it into the fusion generator, which is what causes the snow and ice to build up around him. The faster he goes, the more the cold saps others. 

 

However, just because he is a Speedster does not mean he isn't very durable; his frame is incredibly dense and strong, so he can take a significant beating, and his combat pattern often involves using the snow and ice he creates to slam himself into his opponents, using his mass and speed together to turn himself into a giant bullet. He's still trying to learn a bit more subtlety in his combat.

 

Power Descriptions

 

All of Avalanche's powers are Technological and Mechanical, but his actual animating force is Mystical; the Viridian crystal that powers him is not technology, and if it is removed, he would shut down.

 

Complications

 

Corporate Hero: Avalanche is sponsored and paid for by Kesscorp. While he is a living, thinking being, he is also 'owned' by them as their property as a robot. This also means all his funds and anything he needs has to come from Kesscorp.

 

A Whole New Word: Avalanche is a fully functional being, but he's still learning about being Alive.

 

Family Troubles: Francis Celius is a bipolar individual who has displayed supervillanous tendencies before, and Avalanche's 'Brother' Firestorm is actively a Villain.

 

That Beautiful Stone: Avalanche's entire existence is contained within the White Viridian on his forehead. Removing it can shut him down entirely, and as one of the largest complete gems of White Viridian, it can grant powers to others if they steal it, making him an obvious target.

Attack Specialization should only apply to a single attack or weapon, not an entire suite of attacks. I suggest adding it as the Accurate Power feat to your attacks in your array. That way, you can apply it to any attacks where it makes sense, and have more PP for other powers in the array.

 

Super-Senses (Radar Sense) should be rank 4 rather than rank 1, if you use the Radar Sense example power from Ultimate Power, which is described as: "Radar (4 ranks): By sending out radiowave emissions that bounce off solid surfaces, you can build an accurate picture of your surroundings. Accurate, Radius, Ranged Radio Sense"

 

For your Damage 0 effect, I can guess and calculate that you have 6 ranks of Autofire, matching your strength bonus, but please add it to the description, so it's easier to read, something like "Extra: Autofire (6 ranks)"

 

Everything else seems fine, but please add some more spaces to the DC Block, it's a bit hard to read.

We discussed the needed PP for Senses is 3PP, not 4PP, so I fixed that. I also clarified the Specalization is for the Array, not any attack made at Super Speed, and fixed the boxes.

Math checks out, but a few minor things:

 

Your Defense should be +7 total, not +5, and you round flat-footed up to +3.

Your Super-Senses should be rank 3, not rank 1.

Your area damage effect costs only 1PP/rank with both the flaw and the extra, so it should only cost 6/12 as it is right now. You can bump it up to rank 10 if you want.

 

Everything should be fine once that's fixed.
