Thevshi Posted January 12 Posted January 12 Rai Ki Wai Estate Wakaya Island, Fiji Saturday, February 15, 2025 A little under half a mile to the west/southwest of the main house began a long stretch of white sandy beach that stretched over half a mile to the south, before coming to a corner. A path led downhill from the main house through the jungle down to the beach. Near the entrance to the path were several deckchairs, which could be adjusted to sit upright, or laid flat to lie down. A short distance from those was a small building, containing a number of water sport equipment, boogie boards, some windsurfers as well as a large assortment of mask, snorkels and fins. The water off the beach was crystal clear, revealing shallows that stretched out hundreds of feet before reaching coral reefs, beyond which the water darkened quickly, as the depth dropped off rapidly. The waves along the beach were low and gentle, the reef taking the brunt of the ocean tides.
The Sailor Posted January 14 Posted January 14 Mizuki 8:45am Saturday Local Fiji time. Mizuki seemed to be the first there. She sat down her orange bag, knowing she had everything set for the little trip she was going to go on with Lawrence, but being it was the start of the whole weekend she should start getting some things set up. While the small building had a whole selection of gear, She also had in a large yellow drybag a few more extra goodies. Extra floats from last year were also neatly folded. She spent the next 10 minutes using her electric air compressor to get things inflated. Until a fine selection of rings and mattresses were set up, as well as a pair of single-person military surplus life rafts she found surplus. She hung up some red foam life vests from the storage building on to a pole that was bridged between two sturdy posts. Satisfied with her work, she stepped into a stall with a curtain and changed into a blue swimsuit, laying her sailor themed sundress on the backpack. She snapped the buckles on her fluorescent yellow snorkeling vest, put on a pair of goggles with a snorkel, and sat on the beach putting a pair of swim fins on. She was absent mindedly blowing up her snorkel vest when she could hear footsteps...
Thunder King Posted Sunday at 04:51 AM Posted Sunday at 04:51 AM Sever Ryan appeared in mid-air amidst a sudden black tear in the air. He turned and plunged into the water below from about ten feet off the surface. He immediately swam back to the surface and laughed as he swam back to shore. "Wow, didn't know if that would work." he said, wading to the beach. "Should have brought a towel or something. Ah well, the water was very refreshing." he turned to Mizuki. "Wow, you sure know how to hit the beach right." He stretched. "Sure beats the cold of Freedom City right now, though. It's gorgeous here."
The Sailor Posted Sunday at 05:44 AM Posted Sunday at 05:44 AM Mizuki "Eh it's just normal Snorkeling gear you can buy online anywhere... well except the swimsuit, had that custom. No one makes sailor collared swimsuits that don't look well... fanservicey." She decides to forego putting on the fins for now but adjusts her mask and snorkel on her head. "The vest's more because I'm feeling lazy and want to just float. I mean swimming's fun and all, but sometimes I just wanna lay back and watch the seabirds." She laughs a little, getting up. "Lookit me... one of the fastest swimmers in our school and I still got a floatie on. Ah well." She pulls down the vest a little and adjusts it's waist buckle. "Wager some others will be showing up?"
Poncho Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago (Sam and Michael) "Huh, looks like the other kids ran down there fast, huh? Well, watch this, Carmen." Sam said to her walking compatriot as she bent down for a moment. While the purple whale was being loaded with a screaming King, a laser beam leapt from the edge of the sand directly into the water with a massive splash a little while away. After walking down towards the beach with Carmen, Sam had eventually decided to have some fun, and leapt high into the sky, coming down with a crash into the water and sending waves of water across at the whale, sending water splashing loudly into the shore. "Hah! This is great!" she declared. "Oh. Well looky there, Ryan beat me here. Pretty fast, huh?" she teased the sword-music teen a little as she stood up. "Hey Mizuki, how many points was that cannonball?" she asked the aquatic heroine. As Michael ambled with Rial and Parker, he frowned. "I see. I guess that makes sense. I don't really think that much about the difficulty of using powers. I think mine must be weirdly easy to use; since I can give them to others." Michael genuinely never did have too much trouble using his powers. He practiced with them often and spent a lot of time refining them, but the actual basics of the powers- his strength, speed, and endurance- came to him easily. "Or maybe it's because they're made in a different way? Powers are weird. What about you, Parker? Are your powers 'hard' to use?" he asked as they walked. They were in a pretty good spot to see the purple whale and then Sam slam into the water at almost full speed. Michael raised an eyebrow but didn't do anything else. "I'm not doing that myself. I'm taking a few days off from the powers if I can help it."
The Sailor Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Mizuki She hadn't gotten done inflating her vest but when the splash hit, the emergency cartridge did the work with a loud bullet-like hiss, followed by the excess valve releasing air to get things quickly to a stablized but rigid pressure. 5 hours ago, Poncho said: "Hey Mizuki, how many points was that cannonball?" She was stunned for a moment... "On a scale of 1 to 10, I classify that... a... Chixulub." She blinked turning to Michael. "Seriously, I think the fish I was about to watch have taken cover." She scratched the back of her head once she fully came back to her senses. "Well at least floating around and relaxing is in the cards. Wanted to get some time in here before meeting up with Lawrence again."
Thunder King Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Sever Ryan smirked at Sam and shrugged. "Magic sword helps me cheat, but your form was better." He waded back towards the shore. "Man this sure beats the dead of winter, huh?" He pulled his tank top off and began to wring it out before he sat it down carefully. He stretched. "If nobody minds, I might get my guitar out later and play some. I didn't bring an amp or nothin', just my new acoustic. Wouldn't want to bring an amp to the beach anyway." He turned to Mizuki. "Nothing wrong with safety. I realize I just went insane and dove into the water, but like...safety matters. You know a lot more about that than I do."
The Sailor Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Mizuki "It's not a matter of safety with me, Sever. I'm just being lazy and I tend not to trust toys for floating." She grinned. "And if the fish aren't spooked I can just loiter over them allll the time I want." She stretched out. "And boaters can see where I am with this bright high vis thing on. Although I got a dive buoy I can puff up and drag with me." She wanders backwards into the water and back-flops into it once the water is knee-high. "Yeahhhhh... I can get used to this."
