Cyroa Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 Not even close! Notice check (heh, not likely!) (1d20+7=13) Posting shortly...
Dr Archeville Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 13 on Notice check, -1 per 10 feet between him and anything making a sound, means he probably doesn't hear anything.
Cyroa Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 Question: Does the Scarab's outfit/costume/armor look like the original Scarab who was a member of the Freedom League?
Dr Archeville Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 Do I need to make any sort of check for Belphegor to find his way amongst the echoing, muffled voices?
Avenger Assembled Posted February 6, 2009 Author Posted February 6, 2009 No, I'm willing to move things along and have you arrive. But you might want to make a Notice check for other reasons. ;)
Dr Archeville Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 Is this a case where he can Take 20? (If so, result is a 25.)
Avenger Assembled Posted February 6, 2009 Author Posted February 6, 2009 Belphegor knows that there are people already in the vault up ahead; he can hear their conversations. The lights in there definitely seem to be on, too, quite a surprise given that most of the rest of the building is in darkess.
N/A Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 Question: Does the Scarab's outfit/costume/armor look like the original Scarab who was a member of the Freedom League? No. It looks significantly different. The original Scarab wore your basic red and yellow spandex, like Superman with a full face mask. The new Scarab's costume looks more like armor. The character sheet linked in my sig has a picture at the top.
Dr Archeville Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 No. It looks significantly different. The original Scarab wore your basic red and yellow spandex, like Superman with a full face mask. The new Scarab's costume looks more like armor. The character sheet linked in my sig has a picture at the top. Are the two costumes patterned similarly? I.e., does your Scarab's armor look like an armored/beefed up/padded version of the original Scarab's?
Avenger Assembled Posted February 6, 2009 Author Posted February 6, 2009 Which is a good way of saying, "Will a Notice check mean Scarab can be recognized as Scarab?" ;)
Cyroa Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 Which is a good way of saying, "Will a Notice check mean Scarab can be recognized as Scarab?" Heh. Yes, that was the actual intent of my question as DS would know and recognize the original's look but not the new. But from the 'significantly different' part of your response, I'm guessing 'no' would be the answer to that. But will wait and check before I respond.
Dr Archeville Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 Which is a good way of saying, "Will a Notice check mean Scarab can be recognized as Scarab?" Or Knowledge/History or Knowledge/Popular Culture.
Avenger Assembled Posted February 6, 2009 Author Posted February 6, 2009 Easy way out: Cyroa, roll Knowledge: History.
Cyroa Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 Knowledge: Histopry (1d20+1=14) Uh... I have no idea what my target would be...
Avenger Assembled Posted February 7, 2009 Author Posted February 7, 2009 Hey, not a bad roll. You can't quite place who that is, but you're sure you've seen a costume like theirs on a superhero before, either in a book or on TV. It's hard to remember who, though, there have been a lot of superheroes since 1938!
Avenger Assembled Posted February 7, 2009 Author Posted February 7, 2009 With StB on the road, we'll give him a little more time before we move on.
Dr Archeville Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Speaking of Shaen, I do have a bit of a concern. Scarab & Avenger are both doing the "Triple Murder in Riverside" adventure, which takes place about three and a half months before "Break-In." So far we've been running things here as if Scarab (and likely Avenger) & Jos Terhune have never met (and probably as if they've never met while Jos was demon-ed out, either). But it's entirely possible that they could have met during the triple murder investigation. If it happens that they do meet in that adventure, how will it impact what's going on here?
Avenger Assembled Posted February 8, 2009 Author Posted February 8, 2009 Perhaps they'll send Slamdance on that part of the investigation. 8-) In any event, I'll move this thread further along tonight.
Avenger Assembled Posted February 8, 2009 Author Posted February 8, 2009 Okay, let's have Notice checks from our non-demon PCs, along with a Stealth check and a Knowledge: Pop Culture or Streetwise from the demon.
Dr Archeville Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Stealth is... epic fail! (3) Know/Pop Culture is... more failure! (4) Know/Streetwise is... muuuch better (17)
Cyroa Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Don't think DS noticed... Notice roll (1d20+7=14)
Avenger Assembled Posted February 9, 2009 Author Posted February 9, 2009 Not a great roll from Avenger, either. We'll give StB a bit more time before I post again.
Sandman XI Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 /me looks over at the now revealed Avenger. "I'm Dark Star, a new arrival."
Avenger Assembled Posted February 9, 2009 Author Posted February 9, 2009 Yeah, you might wanna fix that one, Cy. ;)
