Avenger Assembled Posted February 18, 2009 Author Posted February 18, 2009 it does, doesn't it! Oh, what the heck. Scarab, Avenger, and Dark Star receive a hero point. Belphegor receives a chance to overhear who they are and what they're planning.
Avenger Assembled Posted February 19, 2009 Author Posted February 19, 2009 Make an ESP power check, Scarab. And Bel, check your PM box. ;)
Dr Archeville Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Using Gather Info to try and locate whoever might be doing the type of rituals Jos thinks is being done. Specifically not taking the -20 to his his gathering in the hopes that they hear of his inquiry and come to him. His basic offer: "I know someone who knows someone who's looking to hook up with some local mystical groups. Specifically, ones involved in conjurations and summonings. He's.. no from around here, and hopes to eventually go back home, in exchange for whatever work is available. The individual can meet any prospective 'employers' at [such and such location] tonight." He would arrive to the meeting in demonic form, and make an offer of general service. "You seek to unleash a force of supernatural evil. Why would I not want to assist in that, mortal?"
Cyroa Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Honestly, I'm not sure if he could take one or both of them (using TK I'd guess?) and still fly. I'll look at the rules in the morning but if someone has a quicker grasp on this than me, please let me know.
N/A Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Cyroa, I've had a hell of a time figuring out the answer to that. After combing through my collection of M&M2E books, I finally found a mention in the description of the telekinetic pre-generated PC from the Paragons adventure module A More Perfect Union. He has Flight and Telekinesis, and his sheet says that he "can carry his usual telekinetic capacity while flying." So unless AA rules otherwise, you can indeed use your Telekinesis to carry us while Flying.
Dr Archeville Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 I'd go with what UP says re: weight & flight -- you can carry up to your light load with no loss of speed. So just use enough TK to carry everyone as a light load, put the rest of the Dynamic array into Flight, and you can zip around like mad.
Cyroa Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Ok...carrying both of them, leaves him with a flight of 10. 10k mph. (about 13 times the speed of sound if he actually was willing to go that fast)
Avenger Assembled Posted February 23, 2009 Author Posted February 23, 2009 Okay, looks like we're just waiting on Shaen right now.
N/A Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 Hope it was worth the wait. 8-) With an effective Strength of 60 from Telekinesis 12, The Scarab could throw a truck up to 100ft in a single round. She's only moving this one as far and fast as is necessary to make a big hole where the front door used to be. I'm assuming since it's a church that the building is made primarily out of stone, in which case (barring supernatural enhancements) it's Toughness 5. The front door and the wall around it needs to make a DC27 Toughness Save (the damage bonus is +12, her ranks in TK). It's going to suffer at least an Injury automatically, and if the GM chooses to have it take 10, it's going to be Disabled (and I'll make the hole I was aiming for). Assume unless I state otherwise that The Scarab is maintaining Flight and Force Field as Free Actions during every round. I'm guessing it's time to roll for initiative. I got 18.
Dr Archeville Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 And Belphegor's got an 11. And he's still fatigued (-2 penalty to effective Str and Dex, -1 penalty on Attack and Defense). But he's got that one Hero (er, Villain) Point. EDIT: With the -2 to Dex, his Initiative's actually a 10.
Avenger Assembled Posted February 24, 2009 Author Posted February 24, 2009 The Jumped-Up Dabbler rolled 15 Avenger has a total of 19 Dark Star?
Cyroa Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Initiative (1d20=19) Wow! Lucked out with a good roll! I'm not sure if I can do this but I'd like to hold till at least Avenger and maybe even Scarab have gone...he is new at this ... (me too actually)
Dr Archeville Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Fatigued Demon is Slow. (And his init's actually 10, not 11, due to fatigue.)
Avenger Assembled Posted February 25, 2009 Author Posted February 25, 2009 OK, our initiative order is Avenger-19 Dark Star-19 (holding his action) Scarab-18 Jumped-Up Dabbler-15 Belphegor-10
N/A Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 OK, our initiative order is Avenger-19 Check Dark Star-19 (holding his action) Check Scarab-18 I guess it's my turn then.
N/A Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Move Action to fly in through the breach. Standard Action to pick up the truck with Telekinesis. What/who do I see?
Dr Archeville Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 I'd also like to know where Belphegor is. Does he even see any of this going on? I'm guessing he hears some of it....
Cyroa Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 was wondering what I see before acting, but he'll move in with Scarab (will post in a couple hours at lunch )
Avenger Assembled Posted February 25, 2009 Author Posted February 25, 2009 That's an Arcane Lore check to recognize the Staff of the Necro-Kings as an unspeakably powerful Lemurian magical artifact that should _not_ be in the hands of some loser cultist. Not that it's impossible; it's just really bad!
Dr Archeville Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 Seeing as how all the PCs here have a Knowledge (Arcane) modifier under +5... it probably is impossible for us (Bel has no ranks, I'm guessing the DC's higher than 15, so I'm not even going to bother rolling.) 'Course, once we see it do... whatever it's gonna do, we'll probably realize it's a powerful widget. Question will be which PC wrestles it away first ;)
Cyroa Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 Ok, using Gravity Control. It has a 50' radius so guessing it'll cover most ofthe area. Not sure if I need a roll to hit or not with it. If so, I didn't do well. GRavity to hit roll if needed (1d20+6=13)
Dr Archeville Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 No attack roll's needed for Gravity Control, you just set the area -- and, if it's a Selective Attack, who is and isn't affected -- then they're either weighed down or flung upward. (Which also means it should be treated like a Perception-range attack, in that trade-offs shouldn't apply, and so you shouldn't have more ranks than your PL.)
