Ashley's hair is worn in short pigtails that reach about shoulder height, but other then that, she takes very little effort to freshen up her appearance. Ashley wears street clothes that are, surprise, dark in color. Her voice is usually a low monotone when addressing strangers, and is normal when with people she knows. Shadow Stalker: A mere silhouette of a figure, ink-black. In moments of stress, like extreme anger or fear, glowing red eyes can be seen. History: Ashley was an adopted child in Freedom City, to a normal middle-class family, though her parents never told her. So, when her powers manifested at the onset of puberty, like most mutants, she was completely and utterly confused. She became a living shadow, fortunately, Ashley was capable of sustaining a human form at the cost of insubstantiality. She kept this transformation a secret until a super-villain made an all-too-typical bank robbery while the Lorin family was inside. To protect her parents from the hostage situation, Ashley slipped away, transformed, and attacked the group. During the fight, more superheroes showed up, a firefight began, and many of the hostages were hurt. Her father and mother were both injured, and it was overall a disaster. Her father is now bound to a wheelchair, and her mother for the most part recovered, and now supports the entire household. Despite this first horrible experience, Ashley tried to convince herself that it wasn't her fault and move onwards. It has worked, with some degree, and every crime she foils after that assuages the guilt a little more. Personality & Motivation: Ashley is an introverted person, preferring to let others do the talking, and dislikes being the center of attention. However she likes to stay in the background and be passive, she was forced by circumstance to "be a hero", with less-then-stellar results. She takes to the streets to make up for what happened. Complications: Secret (Identity): Ashley is careful about letting people know about her abilities, not willing to let go of her normal life just yet. Responsibility (School): Ashley is a student at Roosevelt High, and is planning to do well. Usual obligations that students have apply to her. How are the Drain, the Enhanced Str/Super-Str/Protection, and Paralyze thematically linked? I can see the Drain & Paralyze, but not the physical stuff. That's the 2pp/rank Drain, right? What trait does it affect? Ability scores? Skills? Feats? Light effects? How are the Insubstantial and Morph/Shapeshift thematically linked? And how is "Only Humanoid" a Limit for Shapeshift? "Only Humanoid" isn't a Flaw for Morph, that is the 2pp/rank version of Morph. Increasing the Action to a Move isn't a Flaw for Morph, it's a Drawback. Also, I'm very leery about allowing a Variable Power (like Shapeshift) as an Alternate Power in an Array. VP's have a big overhead cost because they're so versatile; when you bury it in an Array, the cost is effectively meaningless, because when you don't need the versatility you simply switch the Array and convert all that overhead cost into anther, higher-ranked power. Why are there three different forms of Flight? Does she need all those? For the same price you can just get Flight 2. What's the point of Precise on Elongation?
Serris Posted February 2, 2009 Author Posted February 2, 2009 Tradeoffs are +3 Defense for -3 Toughness. Base defense is 6, 3 from the actual point buy and 3 from the trade-off. Drain/2 affects any one trait, one at a time... Rest will be addressed soon.

Trade-Offs don't give you points in anything for free, it just tells you what the limit you can have. "-3 Toughness for +3 Defense" for a PL 10 character means that at most you can buy +13 to Defense and have at most +7 on Toughness. Drain/2 affects any one trait, one at a time... It's not any trait, you need to pick one type of trait. Ability scores, or skills, or feats, or light effects, or so on.

Shadow Form = Alternate Form, right? That's either Sustained (stays on as long as you're able to take a free action, so shuts off when you're stunned or KO'd) or Permanent (cannot ever be turned off); to make it Continuous (stays on until you consciously decide to turn it off)would increase the cost by 1pp/rank (so a Continuous Alternate Form 22 would cost 132 points, not 110). Insubstantial is normally Sustained; to make it Permanent you need to buy it up to Continuous first, meaning Sustained and Permanent Insubstantial have the same cost.
