Thevshi Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 Velocity held one hand up as the winds buffeted the top of the roof, causing it to be harder to move, of course, that did not mean that much to her. "Eww, gross." She muttered as she saw the things that were forming on the rooftop, though they were likely robots like the mummy had been. All she could do now was wait for them to form and the others to arrive.
MarkK Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 Emissary flew over in short order through the winds, stifling a sigh at having lacked for something massive enough to just hurl down at where they were materializing. Then again, that might cause some horrifically devastating explosion. And so he simply made ready to begin his maneuvers the moment the creatures fully appeared.

Barnum Posted December 15, 2007 Author Posted December 15, 2007 Amid the high winds the giant bats finally materialized above the Astrolabs building. They began to flap their wings to keep aloft and to stave off the winds. In only a few seconds their powerful muscles began to propel them forward. They had no trouble finding their targets. Each bat locked in on a hero and swooped down toward them.

Thevshi Posted December 15, 2007 Posted December 15, 2007 Velocity looked up as the giant bat flew over towards her. “I left making out with my boyfriend for this?†She muttered as she quickly lashed out at the giant bat with a punch, putting a little extra behind the punch. The wind was making it a bit difficult to move up on the roof, so for the moment she stayed where she was.

hero4hire Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 Hybrid rose up into the air and then swooped down towards one of the mechanized chiropterans at high speed. With a resounding THOOOM! his steel hard body collided into its winged form.

MarkK Posted December 17, 2007 Posted December 17, 2007 On the face of it, it seemed as an attack similar to Hybrid's, a speeding, empowered rush tearing through the sky and even the forceful winds buffeting the rooftop, and certainly the Emissary's face was etched with the strain of it, his gaze keeping with a total focus to the mechanical eyes of the bat, fists outstretched, teeth clenched. And yet, at the absolute last moment, when the metal of his form was but inches from impacting into the creature, he veered off, spinning off to the side in an even.. elegant grace jarring to match with the raw force of his previous charge, pivoting to build momentum and focus it all to a single point, for a blow aimed to be as devastating as his supposed charge would have been, but from an angle completely outside the attention the machine had hopefully given to him. He maneuvered for a strike that he hoped would both blindside, and send the machine flying into the other that Velocity was striking towards.

Barnum Posted December 18, 2007 Author Posted December 18, 2007 Velocity gave the diving bat a super speed punch as it dove down upon her. POW! The sound of the sonic boom and then crunching metal was deafening. The bat reeled away off the side of the building and then spiraled down toward the ground, leaving behind it a trail of smoke. Hybrid socked the giant bat right in the snout. It was a tremendous blow, but the bat's skull was much harder than he expected. The blow knocked the beast's head to one side, but with a giant flap of its wings, the creature quickly recentered itself. The bat opened its mouth wide and screeched in anger. With one more flap, it smacked Hyrbrid hard with its wing. It felt like being hit with steel. The Emissary gave his enemy a good pounding as well. The creature's hard body absorbed most of the impact, but the hero left a huge dent in its skull. The bat quickly returned the favor. It slammed its wing into the Emissary, trying to send him plummeting to his doom.

MarkK Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 The Emissary's body was flung back somewhat from the bat's swipe, but he quickly shifted to use the impact to his favour, moving with the momentum of the blow, directing the force of it as he swooped back and up, then downwards again towards the machine in a loop, colliding with it in a single powerful strike.

Griffalo Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 Raindance held his nerve until it was clear which mecanical bat had decided to attack him - no sense in risking hitting one of the others. His hand crackled with arcs of electricity as he extended it at his assailant and let fly with a bolt.
