He had lots of impatient questions, and seemed quite unsatisfied by her answers. "There was no such device at the other scenes, and with that red glow, I'm afraid that it will teleport away when the bats do. There's no time for me to get there and dismantle it. Get the Emissary or Hybrid to rip it off. Try to keep as much of it intact as possible. If it is still glowing . . . like it is about to teleport away . . . smash it, but not too much." Daedalus seemed very unsatisfied with the imprecision of his own answers. "If the device teleports away, we have nothing. If you guys completely demolish it, we have nothing. I need to break it just enough . . . " After a moment to let his words sink in. "Daedalus out."

She looked back over at where Emissary and Hybrid were and in a flash had zipped back down the side of the Astro Labs’ building, crossed the distance to the other building and ran back up the side to the rooftop. “Emissary!†She yelled out. “There is some sort of device over on the main dish over there!†The young speedster pointed over back at Astro Labs. “Daedalus wants you or Hybrid to rip it off the dish, if it is still glowing red, he needs it damaged, but just a bit, so it won’t disappear!â€Â

Glass and steel went flying everywhere, and a dissonant chorus of car alarms filled the night air. On top of the other building, Hybrid ripped off the metallic, antenna-covered box with ease. The striking red glow made it easy to find. The box continued to glow even after he dislodged it. It felt heavy in his hands . . . and really hard.

"A lighter touch is needed here." He then mentally shifted gears on his body's density, becoming lighter and somewhat blurry around the edges until he was in a state of "phase". He then reached inside the box to pull something minor out without causing to much damage.

He moved at that over to Hybrid and Velocity, waiting to see if the machine could be disabled, and readying to strike out to it to destroy it and hopefully salvage something from the remnants in case it couldn't.
