Geez3r Posted April 11, 2009 Author Posted April 11, 2009 Imma need Will saves from the both of yas. A +2 on this check for the Captain and a +6 for Moira. The DC is... hard to explain. Essentially you guys are going on a bit of a trip, your check determines what kind of a trip and the potential consequences there of.
quotemyname Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 capK will save vs crazy trippy stuffs! (1d20 9=27) boosh also...kinda confused as to whose turn it is
Geez3r Posted April 11, 2009 Author Posted April 11, 2009 Start of round 4, initiative is: CapK Moira DJ trippy stuff happened at end of round 3.
Geez3r Posted April 12, 2009 Author Posted April 12, 2009 Yes, do your roll and I describe what happens, then post your response on your turn.
Geez3r Posted April 13, 2009 Author Posted April 13, 2009 Damn. I was hoping you'd both fail  As you're both in the same bracket, this'll make things easy to explain. I'll leave the exact descriptions up to you, as you both see/ experience slightly different things, but here's the gist. Way back in the late 1600's a man known as Reverend Elijah Prophet, lived in what would become Freedom City. He was famous for his witch hunts and exposing "monsters" that lived amongst the people. At this time there lived a happily married couple, Morgan LeRiche and Dr. Krantz Hauser. Dr. Hauser was on the very cutting edge of science, and at his best wildly eccentric, but as he saved most of the townspeople's lives at one point or another, they looked past his oddities. But one bitterly cold winter, Morgan fell ill, and stayed such throughout all winter, and into spring, despite all of Dr. Hauser's best efforts. In a bold effort to save his wife's life, Dr. Hauser began digging into the occult and began mixing medicine and magic. This also made the good oddities balloon into full on madness, and he went from the good Doctor to the town quack. His first experiments didn't go so well, and his wife's condition worsened until she was on the very verge of death. But one day he had an epiphany and new of a way to cure his wife's condition, and went out in search of the crucial ingredient he needed. Elijah Prophet had been preparing for this day. He had long suspected that Morgan had become possessed by a demon and Dr. Hauser was seeking to awaken the evil within. The town had to be rid of Morgan should they ever have a restful night's sleep again. When Hauser was out of town, the townspeople dragged Morgan out of her death bed and burnt her at the stake. Hauser saw this happen, but was too far away to prevent anything. Seeing his beloved die at the stake was too much for his heart to bear, and he had a heart attack. With life fading from his body and overcome with grief, he attempted to summon a demon to wreak venegence on the town that had had unjustly killed his beloved. But life left his body before the ritual could be completed, and instead of biding the demon to the material world, it was bound to Hauser's very soul. For the past 400 years, the Demon/Hauser soul has wandered everywhere using all manner of tricks, deciet, powers and possession to try and find a way to wreak vengence on the land. They recently found a way when the possessed a record, and dominated the will of a certain DJ. But now on the very verge of his conquest, Hauser is beginning to have doubts. He doesn't believe that he beloved would have wanted this. But his soul cannot enter the afterlife while bound to a demon, so he has no choice in the matter. The weird trip you just went on was Hauser's soul crying out for help.
quotemyname Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 cool story bro! Okay, Moira, you're up! He should be flatfooted for you, so do me a favor and level him.
Moira Morley Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 To hit the pinned DJ (DC29 Toughness) (1d20+8=12) This is for my current stats. If that won't fly, just -1 off of each. Note that he is pinned and flat-footed.
Geez3r Posted June 14, 2009 Author Posted June 14, 2009 Sorry, I was unexpectedly busy for the past few days, and hadn't noticed you posted. Gimme a bit to refresh my memory on what's happening and to try and unsurface my notes.
Geez3r Posted July 1, 2009 Author Posted July 1, 2009 Alrighty, and we're back. Only now we're more official like due to my new mod status (and yes I will mention that alot in the next few days ) We'll just use everyone's current stats because trying to figure out what they were way back when will be too much of a pain in the butt. Before we continue, I want to clarify something Moria. You had previously pinned the DJ, that means you essentially do nothing else but hold them immobile. While pinning someone you can't attack them. If you want to beat the snot out of him, then you'd be grappling him instead. It requires no further checks to go from pinning to grappling. It is however easier for the DJ to escape. When you're pinned, you need to beat the opponent in opposed grapple once to be considered grappling and then another time to be free of the grapple. When you're grappling, you can beat the snot out of the guy, but he only needs to beat you once to escape the grapple. So just to clarify, with your above attack, you switch from pinning the DJ to grappling him, correct?
quotemyname Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 Should we do a status recap so that we know where everyone is at?
Geez3r Posted July 4, 2009 Author Posted July 4, 2009 Alright recap time. Divine is hanging out at the bar her family owns and operates one night when the Captain stops by randomly. Lots of booze is consumed and the two hit it off, when suddenly something comes over the crowd. They all go zombie like and go galloping off the woods towards the source of some really creepy music, with our odd duo in hot pursuit. They arrive in a clearing with a bunch of weird crap going on, and at the center of it all is DJ Anarchy, who seems intent on giving the people of the town a night they'll never forget. Witty banter and puches are exchanged, and the DJ in convinced that running away is a very good option, so we immediately skip to the boss fight. DJ is possessed by some demon of sorts, who wants nothing more to burn the city to the ground. The demon is also bonded to the soul of a well meaning, but ill-guided doctor from Freedom City's very early days. While the man's soul is bonded to the demon's he cannot pass on.
quotemyname Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 a 20 should hit if he has no dodge bonus... Make that a DC 28 attack. Lethal since I am kicking his teeth in.
Geez3r Posted July 10, 2009 Author Posted July 10, 2009 Took a 1 on DJ's grapple check to beat Moira's. They're now grappling. He tried to demoralize Moira there, but her Intimidate is maxed so she beats him, and is not demoralized, no rolls required.
Moira Morley Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 I need to know status. DJ's grappling Divine and Captain's grappling DJ?
quotemyname Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 More like we are both grappling the DJ. You had him pinned. then he won a grapple check so he was now considered grappling. But you are still in control of the grapple. That is when I joined in.
Moira Morley Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 How does that work? I control him though he's grappling me?
