quotemyname Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 No. You are still grappling him. He needs to two opposed grapple checks in a row to get out of the pin status. He has won one of them. However you still control him until he wins the second. So right now you can either damage him as I have, pin him again, or release him.
quotemyname Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 afaik, since you still control the grapple, no check is needed from you until he decides to make a roll opposing the grapple. But rolling it now will prevent you from having to do so later when he inevitable will oppose it. :)
quotemyname Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 Just to make sure I am doing this right... From Core: Several combatants can be in a single grapple. Up to four can grapple a single opponent of the same size. Opponents one size category smaller than you count for half, opponents one size category larger than you count double, and opponents two or more size categories larger count quadruple. So if you’re Medium-sized, eight Small, four Medium, two Large, or a single Huge opponent can grapple you. In the same way, four Small opponents (counting as two opponents) plus one Large opponent (counting as two opponents) can grapple you. Additional grapplers can aid their friends with the aid action, granting a +2 bonus to that character’s grapple checks for the round. (11:42:11) Moira: that makes it seem like the people grappling have to majke grapple checks for something (11:42:21) quotemyname: okay, so basically with me wrapped around his neck, you get a +2 bonus on that last grapple check that you just made (11:42:41) quotemyname: I have to go edit my post. (11:42:44) Moira: your pgrapple is a lot higher than mine (11:43:06) Moira: so I am helping you essentially (11:43:30) quotemyname: actually (11:43:44) quotemyname: I think because you are the initial grappler that means i am helping you. (11:43:55) quotemyname: I don't see why we couldn't switch though (11:44:17) quotemyname: I thought that I could deal damage, but I can't. i can only support your grapple attempts. (or if we switch me to the primary grappler its vice versa) (11:44:24) Moira: basically you're holding him down way better than me (11:44:45) Moira: we're both the primary grappler I think (11:44:54) Moira: there can be 4 of them (11:45:18) quotemyname: yes... but the order matters because of this phrase (11:45:20) quotemyname: Additional grapplers can aid their friends with the aid action, granting a +2 bonus to that character’s grapple checks for the round. (11:45:39) quotemyname: meaning anyone who is not the first one merely adds +2 to the primary grappler's rolls. (11:45:42) Moira: ah Conclusion: If possible Captain Knievel will be the primary grappler. Divine will use the aid another action to help keep the DJ tied down. This will raise Captain Knievel's result on his grapple check to a 45. (Captain Knievel still gets his damage on the DJ). If that isn't kosher, Divine will remain the primary grappler. Captain Knievel will assist increasing Divine's roll to 36. Captain Knievel still gets his damage condition because it was done as an attack. the grapple action being initiated as a result of Improved Grab. Moira will then damage the DJ on her turn. Just waiting on a ruling to see which it is.
quotemyname Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 Moira: I talked with Geez3r in chat and he said that he is okay with our plan. I am now the primary grappler. You just assist my grapple (+2) and can give the DJ kidney shots if you wish. Can you please post something IC reflecting that or some other course of action? So we can get this thing moving?
Geez3r Posted July 14, 2009 Author Posted July 14, 2009 It works eh. He spends his turn to use Fearsome Presence, but you both have fearless. He did not know that.
quotemyname Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 he needs to make a toughness save vs. my attack too. I thought it was Divine's turn?
Moira Morley Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 (14:09:32) FreedomBot: Geez3r logs into the Chat. (14:09:52) Moira: heya geez3r! (14:10:10) AvengerAssembled: Hey, Geez. (14:10:13) Electra: Kilometers are the oddball measurement. (14:10:16) Moira: is it mine or quote's turn? (14:10:33) Electra: But we need miles. Kilometers are just too small. (14:10:34) Geez3r: hi all (14:11:19) ShaenTheBrain: Miles are no use for SCIENCE! (14:12:30) Geez3r: quote's i believe (14:12:53) Geez3r: the weird switching grapplers deal kinda messed with the order a bit (14:13:10) Geez3r: it effectively had to eat your turns (14:13:56) Moira: we should adopt the easy mode grapple >.> (14:14:08) Geez3r: ur in easy mode now (14:14:35) Moira: you make a grapple check, if you succeeed your opponent is immobilized and has to make an escape check (14:14:45) Geez3r: DJ's in a full nelson from a muscle bound jock and he's looking at the pissed off daughter of the god of war (14:15:01) Geez3r: yep (14:15:18) Geez3r: but instead of trying to escape, DJ tried to scare yall off (14:15:26) Moira: so i should get up and start kicking him in the junk? (14:15:35) AvengerAssembled: Yes. (14:16:59) Moira: so is this "redemption by death" or are we gonna have to exorize this mofo? (14:17:05) AvengerAssembled: Or should I say....NYYYYEEESSSS! (14:17:10) Moira: exocize (14:17:25) Moira: shoots typo demons (14:23:54) Moira: so, which is it? (14:29:02) Geez3r: i can't tell you that (14:29:08) Geez3r: that would ruin all the fun (14:29:14) Moira: (14:29:30) AvengerAssembled: Rip off his head! Eat his brains! (14:30:00) Moira: i dont wanna have a What The Hell Hero moment when I roshambo this guy to death or try to save it (14:31:01) Moira: thou i do have a plan to figure that out! (14:31:32) AvengerAssembled: Bluff him! (14:31:38) Moira: yes! (14:31:56) Geez3r: you would have more of a plan, but you skipped like half the thread when you scared him to death (14:32:27) Moira: (14:32:53) AvengerAssembled: Beat him! Beat him! (14:32:57) Moira: but... but he started it (14:33:53) Moira: i was all like "FREEBIRD! WOOOOO!" and he was all like "NO FREBIRD FOR YOU!" MUHAHAHAHA" (14:34:33) AvengerAssembled: And then a beating! (14:34:50) Geez3r: i am sorely tempted to go back in the thread and edit the posts to say exactly that (14:35:27) Moira: (14:36:39) Geez3r: i should not have this much power
quotemyname Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 In that case...Captain Knievel will maintain the pin on the DJ. Opposed Grapple check for when it is eventually needed (1d20+28=43)
Moira Morley Posted July 16, 2009 Posted July 16, 2009 Intimidate 32 + taking 10 + 2 for doing something threatening = 44
Geez3r Posted July 16, 2009 Author Posted July 16, 2009 He gave you the answer, but not directly because he was close to beating you.
quotemyname Posted July 16, 2009 Posted July 16, 2009 Captain Knievel will simply maintain the pin this round, as well as help the interrogation if possible. Opposed Grapple if it is needed. +2 Bonus from Divine. -4 to DJ escape attempts (improved pin) (1d20+30=45) CapK Intimidate just in case I can. +2 for doing something threatening (1d20+19=25) EDIT: That should actually be a 20. I forgot the -5 for doing that as a move action. Do I have any VP's left? I am considering a re-roll... EDIT: Not going to bother with a re-roll. Geez3r: Can we get a status update on conditions and VP/HP counts? Divine: GO!
Moira Morley Posted July 16, 2009 Posted July 16, 2009 Can we say the Captain is aiding Moira's check? It'd be 46 then.
Geez3r Posted July 16, 2009 Author Posted July 16, 2009 Didn't bother opposing grapple, can't beat it in his weaker form.
quotemyname Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 Geez said to give him a DC 10 notice check - I take 10 and get an 18.
