quotemyname Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 Colt is very into poker. AND he just arrived in town, so it might be him that starts it. Though he doesn't really have a house >_>
Sandman XI Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 List of the interested: Sammy Six Shooter (if Leffa comes back, this was his idea) Nightrival (if he comes back, he was the first taker ) River Rat Grimalkin Atlas Angel Colt Ironhide Those definitely not interested: Dr Archeville The Scarab Avenger I'd rather see this as a social event than playing poker, but if we have rules, a GM not inon the story (or possibly the benefactor of this little event) could be the dealer, thus making this Texas Hold Em. Ideas? Suggestions?
quotemyname Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 We could do a moving dealer, each player gets to deal a round. That or colt might deal, as long as the house gets its rake ;)
Sandman XI Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 That could work, but it'd have the potential to slow things down if the person disappeared, which is why I think a GM dealer would be best. Plus it gives me a chance todo something for you guys since I seemingly never do anything GM wise :P
Heritage Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 So are we just gonna sort of handwave how we all found out about this, and just show up at the designated place and time? "Word on the street was that we had some heroes looking to lose some money, thought I'd show up." I think Grim is looking for some superhero buddies to hang out with since her break-up with Wesley, which I'm sort of using to explain my absence for the last few weeks.
quotemyname Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 You could put up fliers in all of the usual places. police station, jails, league headquarters, etc. Colt's got enough gather info that he could probably find out about anything going on ;)
Sandman XI Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 I was going to have a benefactor send invitations for Texas Hold Em. The player would describe how the invitation got to their character. Each player would get 25000 house money with the winner walking away with their original stake. This would happen every Wednesday night. Up to six players anymore and we'd drag about too long. OOC, first come first serve. IC, invitations.
Eviscerus Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 River Rat is of course going to be in. This is his bread and butter after all! He'd love to tell the other heroes the story of how he won his first WSOP bracelet! hehe
Heritage Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 So are playing some place secret, a more-or-less public place, or at some guy's house, and in what part of town?
Heritage Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 One thought I had is there's a auto mechanic Grim knows from back in the day on the Southside; we could play in his shop after hours, but we need MBCE's approval.
Heritage Posted October 14, 2009 Posted October 14, 2009 I PM'ed MBCE about using Monty's - I just think it would be cool to play someplace with a lot of character
Heritage Posted October 14, 2009 Posted October 14, 2009 Okay, we got the go ahead on using the upstairs room at Monty's!
Heritage Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 How much overlap is there between poker players and Interceptors? I'm curious based on the timeline, folks meeting for the first time, etc.
quotemyname Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 I would expect poker to be first, honestly.
Heritage Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 I would expect poker to be first, honestly. Works for me. I'm still vague on how this all starts, though I could have Grim run into Colt at the carnival, and she's good friends with Monty. Who else knows each other? I think we need to do a hard list of who's in and who's out. If it's a once a month game, we could call it "Upstairs at Monty's - October", or the like.
quotemyname Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Sure! Let's do it! We'll assume that they meet up at the carnival for now, and together they can use their collective contacts to assemble the players. Lets just get this thing started ;)

Eviscerus Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 You think Colt or Grim could get a hold of River Rat? I don't know... he's pretty cagey what with the spending money like it's going out of style, wearing a silk suit made to look like playing cards and driving around in a dollar green limo... I don't think anyone would notice him! ;)
