quotemyname Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 spartan and arrow have both acted, meaning that i am no longer stunned, and malice should be in the vacinity. Je'La - Init 24 Spartan - Init 23 Knieval - Init 14 - Bruised x1, 2 VP Arrowhawk - Init 13 - Bruised x2, 1 HP Je'La is next to act
Bendigeidfran Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 I forgot to add my attack roll for the grapple. Here it is.
Maze Posted March 26, 2009 Author Posted March 26, 2009 So close... Failed my opposed grapple Damage? Pin? Throw?
Bendigeidfran Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 It's a pin. I'm using Aikido. You know, the martial art that subdue the enemy without hurting them.
quotemyname Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 Je'La - Init 24 Spartan - Init 23 Knieval - Init 14 - Bruised x1, 2 VP (DEF 27) Arrowhawk - Init 13 - Bruised x2, 1 HP Arrowhawk next to act
Geez3r Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 Malice is in the general vicinity, but can seem to find you (rolled a 1 on Notice for a grand total of 5). He also got 15 for Intitative for when he gets their, eventually.
Bendigeidfran Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 Kick ***, Archer. I roll defense against your counter-grapple. You succeed in breaking my pin. But now I shift my attention to you.
quotemyname Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 wait, what? is that your toughness save or something? cuz i looked on your sheet, and it says your save is plus 8, but that roll was +12. i think its your turn, but you still need to make a save it think....
Bendigeidfran Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 I used my defense. Wrong roll, then I guess. Maze, Aristodemus is not armored at all. Why do everyone make that mistake?
quotemyname Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 spartans don't wear armor! they are just protected by their manliness! are you gonna make that toughness roll in character or out? because i think that your only actually knocked out of the grapple if i manage to stun you, so we may have to go back a few posts.
Bendigeidfran Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 Here you go. I spend a HP to make that double move. So I got 2 HP left. I forgot I had Luck 2, so I started with 3 HP.
quotemyname Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 my turn shouldn't involve you guys, so im gonna go ahead and not bother waiting to see the result of that grapple.
Maze Posted March 28, 2009 Author Posted March 28, 2009 So the spartan guy jumped up and is grappling me again. So....how does this work??? Do I crash or just hover there holding him up? Can I still fly? Im really lost here.
quotemyname Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 okay so that depends on your strength score and your carrying capacity. if you have enough strength to life the spartan with a light load then you can fly around at no penalty with her on your back essentially. if she puts you into medium load, then you are at like 2/3 speed and a -3 to all actions. and if its a heavy load she drags you to the ground. while in a grapple you can roll grapple on your turn to try and gain control of the grapple (if you beat a new opposed roll made by your opponent). thats a move action. with control of the grapple, you can end it if you want, or deal damage or make a pin etc. that enough info? :)
Maze Posted March 28, 2009 Author Posted March 28, 2009 Kinda. I have more than enough strength to hold him up (effective str 50) so thats not a problem. Im just trying to figure out how this is going to work. For instance, do I relaly need to make an opposed grapple. If I wanted to, I could just fly both of us into a building or the ground (In both cases using his body to take most of the impact)or take off for the stratosphere. Even if he establishes a pin, so long as were both in the air, it would seem he's more at my mercy than I am at his. So Im just trying to figure how those would work, specifically the crashing and elevator trip up to the atmosphere.
Bendigeidfran Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 Hold on. A Grapple roll means I can do either damage, throw or pin. But doesn't it mean I can also try a strangulation too? Or is that a ?
Ecalsneerg Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 What do we have Hero Points for? Chokeholds and fire extinguisher arrows, that's what. Also, quote, you need to hit me with a melee attack, then make an opposed grapple roll. Grapple check (1d20+12=28) I failed it, anyway, so you just need to try and hit.
Maze Posted March 28, 2009 Author Posted March 28, 2009 going back, if I want to slam Spartan into a building while he's grappling me, how would I do that? Although I suppose I should at least get the opposed grapple check out of the way. Victory 1d20+19=36 Ok, so Ive won the grapple...what can I do with it?
quotemyname Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 attack roll for arrow hawk : cap attack before grapple (1d20 12=23) just barely ill go and make my next ic post in a second. @maze: now that you control the grapple you can choose to (as i likely assume you will) break it off. that was your move action. assuming that the spartan falls about 8 feet to the ground isn't really going to do anything to him, you still have a standard action left.
Bendigeidfran Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 I can still roll a Reflex save to land safely on the ground.
Maze Posted March 28, 2009 Author Posted March 28, 2009 Or I could throw him, right? like into the ground, maybe for damage
Bendigeidfran Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 Could work, but I still got a Reflex chance.
