Ecalsneerg Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 I'm assuming Knieval is still pinned to the ceiling, but let me know if I'm wrong.
quotemyname Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 "you can't put me away forever Doc! Prison can't hold me!"
Dr Archeville Posted April 8, 2009 Author Posted April 8, 2009 "Who said anyding about prison?" he said with a mad gleam as a six-inch long spike emerged from his device. Knievel does get a Fort save (DC 20, but with a +1 bonus) to shake off the Daze from Doc's uber-taser. So go ahead and edit that in, please.
quotemyname Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Is this what you wanted? I pass. I think... I'm confused. did you hit me again with it?
Dr Archeville Posted April 9, 2009 Author Posted April 9, 2009 I hit with a Stun. He did well enough on the initial save that he was only Dazed (can take no actions), and now he's no longer Dazed.
quotemyname Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 Oh I gotcha now. So do you need me to edit any posts because I am now no longer dazed? I believe i couldn't do anything on my turn anyway because of the fact that Dark Star stunned me anyways.
Dr Archeville Posted April 9, 2009 Author Posted April 9, 2009 You can edit it if you like. Since he's not dazed, he can take action, like talk smack, or... well, most anything, really, since he's no longer pinned with crushing gravity.
Cyroa Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 He isn't? I thought he was just pinned to the ceiling now (until I drop him/pin him to the ground).
quotemyname Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 I as well was under this impression. I would of course love to be able to do things, but that would not be fair to Dark Star ;)
Dr Archeville Posted April 9, 2009 Author Posted April 9, 2009 No, he's not pinned, he's just stopped at the ceiling because it's in the way. Which means he's no longer limited to taking either a move or standard action.
quotemyname Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 okay, in that case, can I take a move action to fall downward and a standard action to punch someone?
Dr Archeville Posted April 9, 2009 Author Posted April 9, 2009 No, because there's no gravity under Knievel. He can only "fall" up. Also, I'm double-checking at the ATT to see whether or not the Captain really is not-pinned or not.
quotemyname Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 Okay. Let me know what the verdict is and I will come up with some sort of response.
Dr Archeville Posted April 10, 2009 Author Posted April 10, 2009 Okay, I'm gonna say Knievel is pinned to the ceiling (effectively held immobile [but not helpless; he's held spread-eagle up on the ceiling], loses his dodge bonus and suffers an additional –4 penalty to Defense), but he's not under crushing weight so he's not limited to taking either a move or standard action, he could take a full action. Except he's immobilized.
quotemyname Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 Can I get a strength check to try and move around or something? I have a REALLY neat idea that I would like to try out, but it is only going to work if I can move at least a little bit.
quotemyname Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 We talked In Chat. Dex Check DC20 to 'roll over' (1d20 5=10) NOPE! dang! I use my LAST VP for a reroll on that! VP reroll: dex check DC 20 to 'roll over' (1d20 5=25) and as fortune may have it, I succeed! :D
quotemyname Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 standard action: punch ceiling Extra Effort: Power Stunt Move Action: ZOOOOOM! [5pp] AP: Leaping 5 Later Dudes! (this round I am only taking a rank 4 leap as a move action) Villain Point? Villain Point? :D Trust me, at this point I am not above shameless pandering :P
Dr Archeville Posted April 10, 2009 Author Posted April 10, 2009 Captain K should've gained a VP for when he was originally pinned, since that was a pretty big setback. The Heroes -- Arrowhawk, Dark Star, and Doc -- each get an HP for this recent turn of events. Now it's Doc's turn...
quotemyname Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 Captain Knievel accepts your gracious gift of a Villain Point, and will use it wisely! By the way, I am not sure if I said or not, but the fatigue from Extra Effort will apply to Captain Knievel and not The Adrenaline Cannon. (should I wait until the start of my turn when fatigue kicks in to VP it away if I am going to?)
Dr Archeville Posted April 10, 2009 Author Posted April 10, 2009 Thematically, it makes sense to apply the VP to nix the fatigue on the Device now rather than wait.
Dr Archeville Posted April 11, 2009 Author Posted April 11, 2009 I don't have my books with me, so someone please look this up: Leaping 4 is a move action, so at the end of his move Knievel'd be on the ground, right? If not, if he's still in the air, does he retain his dodge bonus to Defense, or lose it?
quotemyname Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 it is move action, so yes i would be on the ground. I do also retain my dodge bonus. I retain said bonus unless the leaping is "distracting" which it is not. so I do retain the bonus.
Dr Archeville Posted April 12, 2009 Author Posted April 12, 2009 Groovy. Free action to switch on Force Field. Move Action to fly up through hole Knievel made and go after him. With a movement rate of 2,500 feet, he can easily catch up to him. Extra Effort to surge to gain another move action. Hero Point (down to 2 now) to negate fatigue. Full round action to use his Gadget/Uber-TASER (Stun 10; Flaws: Action/Full, Unreliable) And he misses. Dark Star's turn. Mid-Round 4; Initiatives & Conditions 24 -- Arrowhawk -- fine -- 2 HP 23 -- Captain K -- 2 Bruises -- 0 VP 16 -- Doc -- fine -- 2 HP 13 -- Dark Star -- fine -- 3 HP (I don't recall Arrowhawk or Dark Star using HPs yet, but I could be wrong)
Cyroa Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 tried to grab the Captain with TK: TK to grab the Captain (1d20+6=7) YIKES! HP to reroll that! HP to retry that grab... (1d20+6=21) So close! but not enough I believe...
