Dr Archeville Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 So... this is Captain Knievel's home dimension?
Dr Archeville Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 I have a plan! For now, though, Doc's switching his Pseudonatural Mind to Enhanced Wisdom. His Will save is now +13, and Notice and Sense Motive are both at +15.
Dr Archeville Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 Sense Motive to see through Odysseus' damn, dirty lies: 16 (natural 1!) HP to re-roll (down to 1 now) 32 total (rolled 7, add 10 to any result of 10 or less on an HP re-roll)
Cyroa Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 Uh...would you like me to wait for Avenger's response to your roll before posting? Or just put you in orbit now? ;)
Dr Archeville Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 Well, that depends. If Not-Daedalus cannot intercept the grav-pulse transmission Doc sent to DS (it's just Subtle, not Subtle 2), then you could probably zip us up and away. If he can intercept the transmission... or if Odysseus is going to attack b/c he knows Doc knows he's not being completely honest, and decides to drop the charade... well, it might be time to roll initiative.
Cyroa Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 ok, so I'll wait for Avenger's say-so then. DS intends to just grab Doc and go as soon as here hears. Will post tonight then I guess.
Avenger Assembled Posted June 18, 2009 Author Posted June 18, 2009 In the interests of fairness and because Doc Arch is actually smarter than Odysseus, I'll let Dark Star post before we do anything else.
Cyroa Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 didn't want to add too much in case "something" interferred. It should only take a couple seconds to make orbit I think but still.
Dr Archeville Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 I think Avenger may need to see some numbers on what Dark Star did.
Avenger Assembled Posted June 20, 2009 Author Posted June 20, 2009 I need a Reflex save, Dark Star. DC 23. (Yes, he's got Affects Insubstantialx2) ;)
Cyroa Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 near impossible Reflex save... (1d20+3=10) neigh impossible roll take 2! HP. (1d20+3=10) Scary...EXACT same roll...
Dr Archeville Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 Ah, but spending an HP to re-roll means you add 10 if the die result is 10 or less. Which means that 7 is treated as a 17, for a total of 20!
Avenger Assembled Posted June 21, 2009 Author Posted June 21, 2009 Dark Star is Snared! Which means he can only move at half speed, instead of at a bajillion miles an hour. Dark Star, make a Flight check at half-strength vs. 18
Cyroa Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 halfspeed flight check (1d20+8=14) HP half speed flight check; take 2 with HP (1d20+10=27) and init init (1d20+4=8)
Avenger Assembled Posted June 21, 2009 Author Posted June 21, 2009 Our order is: Doctor Archeville Odysseus and Dark Star Dark Star is entangled and moving at half-speed. Odysseus, tethered to a man easily capable of shattering the speed of light, is fighting the urge to yell "Jane! Stop this crazy thing!"
Dr Archeville Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 What's the Hero Point count for us? I've used 2 of my 3 so far.
Avenger Assembled Posted June 21, 2009 Author Posted June 21, 2009 I believe you both have one each. But since you've just acquired a new Enemy, you can both have a fresh one. So you're both at 2.
Dr Archeville Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Hooray! Extra Effort to surge to gain an extra standard action. Standard Action to reconfigure Electromagnetic Screwdriver to Dazzle 10 (radio senses; Flaw: Action/Full) Full action to attack and try to disable the radio-based senses of Odysseus' battlesuit (like a long-distance radar which might let him track us, once we shake him). Attack roll... is an 11, probably misses. HP to re-roll (back down to 1 HP)... is a 26. If that hits, Odysseus needs to make a DC 20 Ref save or all his radio-based senses are overloaded & useless. Next round he can try a Fort save (DC 20) to shake it off.
Avenger Assembled Posted June 23, 2009 Author Posted June 23, 2009 Since he doesn't need his Flight array right now, Odysseus is going to power-stunt a Distracting Full Action Cone Area Plasma Control 12 off it. We'll say it's got both Affects Insubstantial on it, since he is leaving himself open for one heck of a counter-strike from Dark Star. DC 22 Reflex saves, gentlemen, with DC 27 Tou saves if you do poorly.
Dr Archeville Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 But only a DC (15 + [12 / 2]) 21 Toughness save if we pass the Ref save And if we do pass the Ref save, the damage is low enough that neither Doc nor Dark Star would need to roll that Toughness save, due to our Impervious Toughness. Doc's Reflex save: 20 (so close!) (actually a 19, due to -2 Dex from fatigue) Doc's Toughness save: 16  That fails by 11, leaving Doc Staggered & Stunned (and Disabled, if Odysseus is doing lethal damage). ... I'm gonna give Dark Star some time in the spotlight. Doc's Current Conditions 1 Hero Point Fatigued (-2 Str, -2 Dex, -1 attack, -1 defense) Staggered (can take a single move or standard action each round) Stunned (can take no actions other than reactions, flat-footed and an additional -2 to defense [effective defense is 11]) Because he is stunned (and cannot take any actions except reactions), his active Sustained duration powers (i.e., his Force Field) may drop. It's a DC 20 (10 + power rank) Concentration check to keep them up as a reaction. Fortunately, Doc's still got his Enhanced Wisdom up to help. Concentration check... fails, a 14 Odysseus's blast overloaded Archeville's force field, making it fall, and roasted the Good (Mad) Doktor.
Cyroa Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 Reflex save (need a 22; yeah right!) (1d20+3=5) Woof... Toughness: Toughness (need a 27) (1d20+12=20) crapola... HP for the reroll... (1d20+12=31) Booya! :)
Dr Archeville Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 Hooray! We might not die a horrible death in this terrible place!
