Dr Archeville Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 Also, it occurs to us that Malice/Eric may be losing more than his HQ: when the smoke clears and they trace Malice's tech to Darts, Inc, Eric may be out of a job (and thus lose some of his Benefits). (And it puts Doc into a bit of hot water, since almost a year prior he'd made a deal with Eric's company.)
Ecalsneerg Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 The IC thread says this is happening on a Sunday morning. Is that "nightclubs still operating" Sunday morning, or "people-are-at-church" Sunday morning? It started as the former, but after so much time spent gathering information and trawling through sewers... people are probably heading off to church, although I confess I don't know exactly how early people tend to go to church.
quotemyname Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 depending on the religion, its usually mid-late sunday morning. My church holds masses at 8am, 9:30am, and 11am. Not that I attend them >_>
Dr Archeville Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 Alright, let's say it is church-time when the asplosion occurs. Little to no loss of life, just property.
N/A Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 Also, it occurs to us that Malice/Eric may be losing more than his HQ: when the smoke clears and they trace Malice's tech to Darts, Inc, Eric may be out of a job (and thus lose some of his Benefits). (And it puts Doc into a bit of hot water, since almost a year prior he'd made a deal with Eric's company.) Not to mention the fact that this could mean the end of Malice's secret identity.
Dr Archeville Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 Not to mention the fact that this could mean the end of Malice's secret identity. That's almost a given, I think.
quotemyname Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 Not to mention the fact that this could mean the end of Malice's secret identity. Not to mention what little shred of sanity he's got left. Poor guy :(
Geez3r Posted June 9, 2009 Author Posted June 9, 2009 ... I think Malice may now hold the record for largest amount of VP due to complications. Let's check the list shall we: Lost house, lost HQ, lost secret ID, lost years of research, lost main ammo supply, lost most of his Benefits, gains a rather sour reputation (even more so than the old one), alerts the Freedom League to his presence, alerts the cops to his presence, lost his tenious grip on sanity, and, depending on the results of the explosion, lost limb(s) Probably got the record if half of those count. :o
quotemyname Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Good for you breaking records all over the place! Are you satisfied now? DOES THIS MAKE YOU HAPPY?! :P
Avenger Assembled Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 I rather like the image of Malice meeting Captain Knievel in prison, if only so Captain Knievel can say, "Well well well, if it isn't Mr. Sane! Looks like we all wind up in the same place in the end, buddy."
quotemyname Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 I'm not familiar with the reference. Is that from a movie?
Dr Archeville Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Alright, show of hands/flipper/tentacles/whatever: What heroic characters would be willing & able to respond to a MASSIVE EXPLOSION in a Riverside suburb on a Sunday morning? And what villains would take advantage of the chaos?
quotemyname Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 You don't ask Captain Knievel twice. He would be all over that in a second. He likes explosions maybe too much for his own good.
Dr Archeville Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 You don't ask Captain Knievel twice. He would be all over that in a second. He likes explosions maybe too much for his own good. Yes, but as we've already discussed, he might be in jail at the time. ;)
Sacerdos Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 If Thunder were awake (9:30-10 AM, she'd be getting up and watching morning TV), she'd be all over racing to the scene to help. She'd be a bit late to the party, though, as she can only move at the speed of motorcycle or kung fu semi-flight. ETA: 100th post! Woohoo! :)
quotemyname Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Yes, but as we've already discussed, he might be in jail at the time. Yes, I am aware, but I am also doing everything I can to get out. The point is that I am interested.
Lord Fell Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Pompadour is still attending his court ordered therapy when this thread takes place.
Nyrath Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 I'm thinking Mongrel Angel would be there as quickly as she possibly could since Riverside (and Port Regal) are what she pretty much considers her beat so to speak.
N/A Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 The Scarab can show up if you want and/or need more heroes. If enough other people express interest, however, I'll bow out.
Geez3r Posted June 14, 2009 Author Posted June 14, 2009 Please, any heroes that feel like they would want to bow out are more than welcomed to do so For once, Malice legitamately needs moar DAKKA.
Dr Archeville Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 *hands Malice one bullet, which is moar DAKKA than he currently has*
Cyroa Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 heh What? You don't want every hero in the city to show? Strange...what with the giant explosion likely visible for miles around... ;)
Dr Archeville Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 Oh, I'd expect most would be involved. Mainly asking to see whose available & interested on both the character and player side.
Geez3r Posted June 14, 2009 Author Posted June 14, 2009 I am available and interested. For everyone of you that says that, my chances of survival drop by like 26%. I started at like 14.
