Avenger Assembled Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 LF, what I will let you do is spend that last HP to acquire the Dedication feat, which will give you the effects (+2 on social rolls vs. the charms of 'mean girls') that you're looking for. If that's what you choose to do, go ahead and successfully resist. If that's what you opt to do, I trust that you will successfully roleplay Pompadour resisting the charms of an unspeakably gorgeous pretty face (via extra effort and multiple HP) as the heroic moment for the character that it is. If not, take your Fascination like a champ, and don't taunt the unspeakably gorgeous goddess a second time. Make a DC 18 Will save, Ecal. I also need DC 20 Notice checks from, hmm, let's call it Geckoman and Pompadour.
Ecalsneerg Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 Will save followed by Notice! (1d20+2=10, 1d20+5=19)
Avenger Assembled Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 Ecal, you are Confused. Roll a d20 to decide what you do: CONFUSED BEHAVIOR TABLE D20 BEHAVIOR 1-2 Attack the user of the Confuse effect. 3-5 Act normally. 6-10 Do nothing but babble incoherently. 11-14 Flee at top possible speed. 15-20 Attack the nearest creature.
Avenger Assembled Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 Have an HP for your brand-new Enemy complication, Ecal.
Ecalsneerg Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 I'm craaaaaaaaaaaaaaazy (1d20=11) But due to hero points, a controlled kind of crazy (1d20=13) Meh. I'm going to have to run away. The babbling incoherently comes for free.
Lord Fell Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 I'm going to go ahead and blow the HP to add Dedication/Resist the fascinate. Notice Check (1d20+4=14)
Avenger Assembled Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Have an HP for the Complication, Fell. The results of Student Body's Bluff check with Boosted Charisma are...obscene. I'll leave it up to the PCs to describe their reactions/resistance to the sad little icon of beauty; but the NPCs are certainly moved.
Bendigeidfran Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Coming to this party might not have been a good idea for the Spartan. Oh, and my older sibling seem to enjoy this, since s/he is currently laughing his bottom off because of the chaos.
Heritage Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Coming to this party might not have been a good idea for the Spartan. Yeah, I don't think your the only one with that opinion This might be the last come-as-you-are superhero party we see for a while.
Avenger Assembled Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Ecal, you're entitled to another Will save vs. Confuse at this juncture, to which you are at +1. Go ahead and roll again if you fail.
Ecalsneerg Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Gecko willpower! DC 18! POWER! (1d20+3=20, 1d20+4=17) Succeeded first try. Let's make this utility belt work for me!
Lord Fell Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 I'm thinking on my reply... and I'm also going to release a burst of Emotion Control: Calm. DC14 save for anyone who's close enough to smell me, and breathes.
Heritage Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 I'm thinking on my reply... and I'm also going to release a burst of Emotion Control: Calm. DC14 save for anyone who's close enough to smell me, and breathes. Guess that leave out all the damn vampires ;)
Heritage Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 Grim is also converting 6 points of Dexterity into 6 points of Strength, so her totals are now Str: 16 (+3) Dex: 18 (+4).
Avenger Assembled Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 I'm thinking on my reply... and I'm also going to release a burst of Emotion Control: Calm. DC14 save for anyone who's close enough to smell me, and breathes. Dramatic GM Voice: Are you sure?
Lord Fell Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 I was under the impression that his power has no visible effect -so even if he uses it, it can't be traced back to him, really... unless someone's using an analytical scent type power. If that's not the case, then perhaps not. Do keep in mind that anyone (who breathes) that gets close to Pompadour needs to make a DC11 will save, or be affected by his pheremones, and I know that's a power without flashy stuff.
Avenger Assembled Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 All right, consultation finished. Pompadour's Emotion Control is insufficient to counter Daisy Gibbons' Bluff check of 45. While she rolled fairly well there, her Bluff modifier with her Boosted Charisma is so high that it is impossible for Pompadour's powers to overcome her social skills. (Hey, it turns out NPCs are affected by the social skills of the people around them.) Lacking the Subtle power feat, Pompadour's powers are immediately obvious to everyone around him. (As was Daisy's Boost (Charisma), which is what got the attention of her instructors. Contrary to scurrilous rumors to the contrary, this is the only actual superpower her character has used in the course of the party.) Hopefully, the HP freshly acquired from his new complication will help him deal with this.
Avenger Assembled Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 Rather than make everyone make lots of saves against effects (not much of a drama thing, there), I will leave up to the PCs to decide what course of actions they take in this situation.
Lord Fell Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 If I'm counting correctly, I'm now sitting at Fatigued, and 3 HP... I seem to be collecting more HP than phone numbers at this party, which is a wildly new and different thing for Pompadour. I see the events as having unfolded thusly:  Thunder went to the washroom to dry the champagne out of her dress. Grimalkin disappears. Pompadour stopped to sneer at Student Body (not so much at Battlecry and Geckoman, who he saw as victims). Geckoman has his freak-out, and runs towards the washroom, while Pompadour resists Student Body's fascinate and tears her a new one. Grimalkin gets in Geckoman's way, while Pompadour follows more slowly -seeing a Pixie, he stops entirely, wondering if the champagne was dosed with LSD (but doesn't seem confused himself, so rules that out). The Claremont Chaperones accost Pompadour. Geckoman and Grimalkin head inside the washroom, Thunder emerges from the Lady's in time to see them go in. Fletcher "narc" Beaumont announces that he can smell Pompadour's emotion controlling scents. Ace rescues Pompadour on his way to the washroom, Duncan Summers collects Pompadour, and Ace enters the washroom with Geckoman, Grimalkin and Thunder (not sure if Thunder went in)
angrydurf Posted June 23, 2009 Author Posted June 23, 2009 Well its actually a little fuzzy as none of us really entered the washroom except maybe Gecko but he came out before anything happened but other than that basically right
Heritage Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 Well its actually a little fuzzy as none of us really entered the washroom except maybe Gecko but he came out before anything happened but other than that basically right Jack was in the john, and I think maybe still is.
Heritage Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 I think this might be more accurate, Fell:  Thunder went to the washroom to dry the champagne out of her dress. Grimalkin disappears. Pompadour stopped to sneer at Student Body (not so much at Battlecry and Geckoman, who he saw as victims). Geckoman has his freak-out, and runs into the washroom, while Pompadour resists Student Body's fascinate and tears her a new one. :arrow:Pixie-sized Grimalkin appears by the Men's room and calls to Geckoman through the door, while Pompadour follows more slowly -seeing a Pixie, he stops entirely, wondering if the champagne was dosed with LSD (but doesn't seem confused himself, so rules that out). The Claremont Chaperones accost Pompadour. Geckoman exits the washroom and encounters Grimalkin, who returns to normal size, Thunder emerges from the Lady's room and apologizes to Grimalkin. Fletcher "narc" Beaumont announces that he can smell Pompadour's emotion controlling scents. Ace rescues Pompadour on his way to the washroom, Duncan Summers collects Pompadour, and speaks to Geckoman, who has just come out of the Men's  Grimalkin leaves after saying goodbye to Ace
angrydurf Posted June 23, 2009 Author Posted June 23, 2009 Jack was in the john, and I think maybe still is. Yes there is a vampire hiding in the mensroom
Avenger Assembled Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 And yes, Jack is still in the bathroom. And for those wondering where Geckoman's teachers are, they're giving the PCs a chance to shine. :D
