alderwitch Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 And I'm going to hold off on putting up my IC post as I think the two of you had readied actions that I'd like to resolve the order of everything to minimize IC editing.
Cyroa Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 I'll be popping up from behind and blasting at the same time btw. just not sure what order/how you want this go though. kind of left rounds there while we healed/synched up
quotemyname Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 well you still have to wait your turn I have an action before you do. and neither of you actually delayed or anything so the initiative order should be unaffected.
Cyroa Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 that's the point we're saying. we're delaying and doing this so it happens at the same time. We're heroes. Not combat noobies
quotemyname Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 EDIT: My bad... wasn't thinking clearly last night. phantom and DS will act almost simultaneously because they are delaying to act as close together as possible.
quotemyname Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Now that I understand what is going on. Captain Knievel will simply go defensive again.
Avalon Posted August 4, 2009 Author Posted August 4, 2009 I'd just like to clarify that since The Vestige is off of the ground, he has a wider definition of what "below" him means. So most likely he can react to when someone rises up from the concrete. In other news, The Vestige barely fells Phantom's attack. Toughness save (1d20+11=29)
Cyroa Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 here's Dark Star's attack: 1d20+8=22 I'd buy that he'll see DS coming out of the ground, since it's still coming out of the ground. But from someone appearing above him? eh... Anyway, can we stop and go back to the IC things. so, quote and avalon, can you post your actions IC. Then alder and I will do our attacks. then the new round can ensue. that ok?
Avalon Posted August 6, 2009 Author Posted August 6, 2009 (12:58:39) Avalon®: Rolling for toughness save vs. Dark Star's attack in Assault (12:58:42) Avalon®: 1d20+11 (12:58:48) FreedomBot: Avalon® rolls 1d20 and gets 14. (12:58:56) Avalon®: 14+11 = 25 That's a bruised then.
Avenger Assembled Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 pops in Hey guys. I've gotten a couple of requests about tying this thread up thanks to its length. We'll have NPC heroes arrive and let them fight the bad guys off-camera. Sound good? :)
quotemyname Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 Awww... And just when it was getting to the good part <_< It hasn't actually been a long fight. It's gone about two maybe three rounds. the problem is that its just very slow moving. Do we still need to wrap it up? Most threads that I have been in wait at least like 5-7 rounds before wrapping up. If we have to we have to. I just wanted to point out that the thread's length was not not actually a good indication of its length in character.
Cyroa Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 AA: no offense but I think that sucks. If the NPC join in the fight, that's fine. But suddenly 'fiating' the ending off-screen? That blows. I don't know who has asked to archive this thread. It's been slow and hopefully will pick up. But length? It's 4 pages long. That's nothing. So no. Unless there's some vital reason to do a REF Fiat here, that doesn't sound good.
Avenger Assembled Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 OK, so some of you guys would rather keep the fight going on-camera? That's cool. In that case, a Ref will bring in an NPC or two to replace the folks interested in moving on; that way they don't have to keep posting in the thread and their characters don't look like chumps bailing on their friends in the middle of a fight. More anon.
quotemyname Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 Okay, cool So in order to keep things going now, I will take my action! EDIT: Since I am using the old version of the cannon, it takes my whole action and leaves me without my dodge bonus. So at the time that reduces my Defense to...16 all totaled. This was also back when my character had armor, and no ranks in defensive roll. Therefore my toughness save remains at maximum value.
Cyroa Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 Attack (1d20+8=28) that a crit? Here's the power: Blast 12 (Extra: Penetrating; Feat: Accurate x1, Dynamic, Improved Range x2 (Rank x50))
quotemyname Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Cyroa, just to clarify, the adrenaline cannon is an energy weapon. It does hurt you since insubstantial characters are fully affected by energy (just not the energy they are made of). You still need to save against that.
Cyroa Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Ah! sorry, I thought you had told me that it didn't get through his Impenetrable. What's the DC?
quotemyname Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 that was before I actually looked up insubstantial. its a rank 10 strike at the time, so it does penetrate your impervious 8 i believe. DC 20 reflex / DC 25 toughness (if you fail the reflex) DC 20 toughness (if you pass the reflex)
Cyroa Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Reflex DC20 (1d20+3=16) that would be a "no" DC 25 toughness (1d20+12=31) no sweat
Cyroa Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 Hello? I know I said I wanted to finish this one... But that involved posting and stuff...
Avalon Posted August 23, 2009 Author Posted August 23, 2009 My bad Cy. It's actually my turn now. Here's the updated init list: Captain Knievel - Init 29 - fine - 2VP The Vestige - Init 13 - fine - 0VP STAR Squad officers - Init 4 - 6 remaining (including 2 in MAX suits) Dark Star - Init 2 - 0HP Phantom - Init 2 - fine - 1HP Cy, I thought you delayed with Phantom? Why did youv attack next?
Cyroa Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 Because Quote told me I was next and to post back when I asked. Just have Vestige's actions go off before the post takes affect I suppose.
