Warmonger Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 Feet don't fail me now. 1d20+10=29 And I already have Evasion 2, so I should take no damage. Should I make an IC post?
quotemyname Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 What about us dudes inside the building? You didn't specifically state whether or not it was or was not going to affect us, so I'm just looking for some confirmation there.
Cyroa Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 not likely... (1d20+3=22) Then again... now for the toughness toughness (1d20+12=20) aw... that will leave me w/ a bruised? if worse, I might HP that...
Geez3r Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 Damn, I was hoping I could at least get you to use some HP . Just a bruise.
N/A Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Reflex Save (DC22): 15. Full effect. Toughness Save (DC27): 14. I'm out of Hero Points, so no re-rolls. The Scarab failed by 13, so she is Staggered and Stunned for 1 round. Since she failed the save by 5+, she is knocked back. Since she is hovering at an angle above Malice, a pulse in all directions should knock her into the air. Concentration Checks to maintain Sustained powers as Reactions: Concealment (DC20): 25. Flight (DC13): With a +15 bonus, I can't fail. Force Field (DC18): 26. Damage 12 + Knockpack 9 = Knockback 21 21 - 5 = 16. 16 steps up the Value Progression Table gets a result of 100,000. The Scarab is knocked back 100,000 feet, or approximately 20 miles. When she lands, she will suffer +16 damage. Toughness Save (DC31): 21. She fails by 10, which would normally mean she's Staggered. Since she's already Staggered, now she's Unconscious. Once she's unconscious, her powers shut down. No more Force Field, no more Concealment.
quotemyname Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009   *waves his "Captain Knievel is #1" Styrofoam finger in the air* Okay, I'm done. :P
Ecalsneerg Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Let's see those Reflex saves, gentlemen. This effect is going to be large enough to include everybody in front of the courthouse, so that's _everyone_ out front except Malice making the DC 22 Reflex save followed by the DC 27/21 Toughness save. Malice is going to inflict maximum knockback on anyone stunned by his attack. This is also going to do some pretty significant damage to the surrounding scenery, though I'm willing to say the fight's been ongoing long enough for the civilians to have fled the area. The street is not so wide that this won't blow the front off the library and blast an even bigger crater in the middle of the street. Damn you lack of HPs! DAMN YOU! Reflex [hopefully Evasion], followed by Toughness (1d20+10=17, 1d20+8=11) Yeah, I'm ****ed. Failed the Reflex, and failed the Toughness by 16 so go flying out of the area. Arrow'd?
Avenger Assembled Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Ace and Dark Star, have an HP each for being the victims of Malice's masterful strategy. OK, now keeping track of initiative just got a lot easier! I believe Knievel is up next? The blast is clearly audible to Knievel and Ace (it's detectable in Atlantis, for goodness' sake), but Distract works fine in combat even so.
Geez3r Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 *Takes a bow* I would like to wave my "Malice is #1 styrofoam finger" around in the air, but I'm pretty sure I just made it disappear.
angrydurf Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Can we get a repost of that "simplified initiative"? Cus I was queing off Scrabs actions to know it was my turn.
Avenger Assembled Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 I have our current initiative at: Ronin Knievel Dark Star Ace Malice
Avenger Assembled Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 We seem to have skipped Ronin. Just go ahead and post now, War.
Warmonger Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Ok leaping to the street and unloading flash bang. DC 14 reflex in 40 foot area around dark star to avoid blindness, and DC 14 fort to avoid deafness.
Cyroa Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 reflex (1d20+3=13) just missed it. though it doesn't matter since he can still see with Gravitc Senses I'm told And Fort (1d20+4=18) So ok there. Spending an HP to surge and do two attacks on Malice. Ronin can wait attack (1d20+8=26) Attack (1d20+8=22) I believe both hit. Blast x12 (penetrating)
Geez3r Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Reflex save to avoid being blinded DC 14 (1d20+3=13) Fortitude save to avoid being deafened DC 14 (1d20+10=20) Toughness save vs DS Blast #1 DC 27 (1d20+12=32) Toughness save vs DS Blast #2 DC 27 (1d20+12=27)
angrydurf Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 How far is it to the front area where the big boom happened?
quotemyname Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 I still haven't gotten an answer as to how much damage was caused to the courthouse from this 120ft radius blast...
angrydurf Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Actually no real damage. maybe some cosmetic (Shattered glass, scorched stone, toppled statuary, etc) but it was a non-lethal blast you need to do lethal to damage objects.
quotemyname Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Then how did it blow apart the library?
angrydurf Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Can't say that I can answer that. Might have been a descriptor for the cosmetic damage and its still structurally sound.
quotemyname Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Yea, probably. But our questions still remain. How much damage (if any, even if cosmetic) was done to the courthouse, and how far is it from our location to ground zero?
Avenger Assembled Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 But our questions still remain. Oh lordy loo, whatever could the Refs be doing...on the first of the month. ;)
quotemyname Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 So, durf, I guess you're just waiting for AA to answer your question before you act?
angrydurf Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Yea If I can get tot he other scene in a move action I'll probably try and see what going on otherwise I gotta trya nd tak knieval out. Not likely with the pile of HP he's sitting on but whacha gonna do.
quotemyname Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Which reminds me I should probably state how many I actually have. I started the thread with 2 because I spent one before the thread to get a good Idea on the trial I got one when the thread started for being without my Device (back to 3) I used one when you clonked me for Ultimate Toughness (down to 2) And I just got another one. (back to 3) So I think I am sitting on three right now. If anyone wants to second guess me or dig through 40+ pages of OOC to get the specifics, feel free. I'm just too lazy and I'm pretty sure this is accurate anyways
