quotemyname Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 What would you ref's say to me picking up a single rank of Luck Control so that Knievel can spend VP's for his teammates? Too often I find that I am in a situation where I am the one with the VP's that the other guys need. It make sense do to his Charisma and his leadership abilities... Just a thought...
angrydurf Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 Buy leadership? Seriously between leadership and inspire you reall y have the VP for your allies thing covered without going outside the "I'm charismatic and a good leader" descriptor. To me at least luck control goes beyond that into the realm of really twisting the threads of fate or whatever
quotemyname Posted September 11, 2009 Author Posted September 11, 2009 already got leadership, AND max inspire. I'm just really looking to help out a team in case I ever get one ;)
Ecalsneerg Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 Well, I've never seen you actually use them. Maybe if you start using them you'd stop feeling you need more :P
quotemyname Posted September 11, 2009 Author Posted September 11, 2009 That's probably because Knievel's two major threads have either been by himself, or he was isolated from the team... both times... couldn't use them.
Avenger Assembled Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 I don't see how you'd get that to work. That's not part of Knievel's concept at all, and it steps right in the face of our actual Luck Controlling PCs.
quotemyname Posted September 11, 2009 Author Posted September 11, 2009 Contrary to popular belief... My first intention when I built Knievel was to build him as a team leader. I just didn't do a very good job of it >_>
angrydurf Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 I think the issue isn't with kneival being a team leader but that Luck control isn't really leadership. Inspire, Master Plan, Leadership, even Teamwork cover Leadership. Luck control is its own thing that goes above and beyond leadership into the realm of the supernatural or superhuman. Personally if you wanted to say that Knieval developed luck control powers, from magic or a superserum or mutation, I would say OK it really doesn't fit with the perfect Human thing that Knieval self Identifies as but sure stuff like that happens, it might be interesting to see how he reacts to becoming "The Enemy". Luck control as a training descriptor, representing leadership doesn't really fly.
quotemyname Posted September 11, 2009 Author Posted September 11, 2009 fair enough... I've thought about going that route a few times... it's a slippery slope though.
