Geez3r
Players Name: Geez3r Power Level: 14 (201/210) Trade-Offs: -2 Attack for +2 Damage, -2 Defense for +2 Toughness Unspent PP: 9pp Characters Name: Hank Wright Alternate Identity: Tempest Height: 5'11" Weight: 140lbs Hair: N/A Eyes: Glowy Description: Tempest is pretty much a walking flux of natural energy comprised into a humanoid form. His eyes glow the brightest out of any portion of him, but shift form just like every other part of him. However, unlike other energy beings, he's not insubstantial. There's enough ice, wood and earth in him at any given point to make him solid enough. Most of the time, he's quite featureless but when he wishes to talk or otherwise convey something through body language, the flux of energy that comprises him shifts enough so he can convey the expression. When he speaks, it is usually in a monotone voice, and is usually soft, but has been known to carry the fury of a storm from time to time. History: The prevailing theory is that the Earth holds a great number of living things but it is not alive itself. That theory is only partially right. One of the guiding principles of life is that it is self propagating, life creates more life. For all the life that Earth gave away, all of it eventually returns to the Earth, before being sent out again in what we refer to the circle of life. But this circle doesn't exist in a vacuum. Each time it completes a revolution, a ripple is felt throughout the universe in ways that are incomprehensible to the human condition. The point is, that after countless of millenia, the earth began to live. It was not just the grass that was alive anymore, it was the rocks and soil beneath its roots. Small little areas of collected thought began to form, shaped by the very essence that had granted them life. And these communities reached out and joined in with the others around. They formed counties, then states, then regions, then nations, then continents, and then the whole world was joined into one cohesive unit, and it was called Terra. Terra was joined by its family, Hydros, Celesctia, and Fuera. But when they were united, they realized something. They did not know a purpose. What reason did they have for being? Ages pasted as they deliberated. It was not until recently until a solution was found for them. By accident, the consciousness known as Freedom City created the entity known as Dr. Metropolis. It was then that the purpose of life was made clear to them; the purpose of life is to create more life. But what sort of life should they create? The 4 decided that they should endeavor to create a sort of life like the kind that created them. They endeavored to be human. But they did not know what that truly meant. So they created an avatar to live among the humans and become like them, so that they would know what being human was. And thus, Tempest was born. Personality & Motivation: Tempest has little understanding of how humans interact, but understands a great deal about the world itself, especially the natural side of things. He had heard tale of the heroes of the world. People wish to be like them and emulate them, so Tempest decided he should meet and interact them, like they were the best humanity had to offer. Despite the apparent chaos that embodies him, Tempest is very calm and collected. But above all, he is curious. He seeks to understand and learn. There is nothing too trivial nor too important for him to question. Powers & Tactics: Tempest manipulates pretty much every last one of the classical elements and can even two or more of them at once. As such, he has been known to shrug off elemental attacks of great power without much difficulty. He can reshape pretty much any matter at a whim, with a great deal of skill. He can create very intense localized storms. He can also throw the elements around in a variety of blasts and even wreath his entire body in a constant flux of power. He aims to end battles quickly when they can not be avoided entirely. With his "Elemental Attunement" he is able to highly concentrate a form of energy in his body and adapt to its own characteristics. In air form for instance, he can fly; in earth form on the other hand, he's very stable and rooted to the ground. For reasons yet unknown he has yet to exhibit a fire form. Complications: Naive - Somethings about humanity Tempest just doesn't understand, which can be quite dangerous. Curiosity killed the cat - Learning about something new is an excuse to ignore any danger. Geez3r
 His Variable Descriptor 2 allows him to use the classical elements (fire, ice, water, lightning, earth, wind) as descriptors, any 2 at a time if he so chooses. Also, if I'm playing this guy as a jerk face for like more than 2 months, I blame the other heroes. I'll buy off 1 point of the DB each time he gets a "what it means to be a hero" speech. Link to comment
Geez3r
I believe that'll be that. Give him a look see at your leisure. Link to comment
Avenger Assembled
Some thoughts: -Why's his Concentration so high? It seems like Concentration isn't really his thing. Unless zoning out was how he got through his old job. -You might want to consider Mind Shield for his Will save rather than a straight boost of the save itself. This guy doesn't seem particularly good at controlling his impulses. -No other skills at all? No Notice? No Pop Culture? No Sense Motive? -When you say jerk, how big a jerk are we talking? Are people actually going to want to hang around with him? Link to comment
Geez3r
Hrmm... looks like build tweaking in in order. I was thinking that Concentration kind of came with the territory with his power, but that would make more sense as Enhanced Concentration. For the mind sheild thing, I'll consider it. But I had kind of invisioned him as having a really dull and boring life, and then all of a sudden, Wham! tons of powers, so he's still in the "WWWEEEEEEE" stage of getting powers, and will gradually mellow out. Yeah, I was debating whether or not to give him more skills, and he is quite spare. I'll throw some more stuff in there, I just have to mess around for a bit. For jerk level I mean like Guy Gardner level. However, as he gets over the initaial euphoria of getting powers, making a fool of himself, or the other heroes rightfully putting him in his place, he'll be a lot less of a jerk, real fast. EDIT: Moved some points around. EDIT 2: I've decided to completely revamp the character into more of a nature spirit type deal, which of course means a complete and utter overhaul of the character. We'll continue to cover this story as it develops. :D Link to comment
Geez3r
There we go. That should be everything for the new guy. Give him another look-see. Link to comment
Dr Archeville
Fluff & Crunch both look fine. I would only point out that his Acute Detect Life has no range, so 'he' can only use it on things in direct contact with 'him.' Link to comment
Geez3r
Hrmm, I would have sworn it was ranged. Ah well, I'll swap Acute for Ranged and then get acute later. Link to comment
