angrydurf Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 October 1st 2009 The Heroes Atlas, Avenger, Deadhead, and Phantom track strange occurances to a small cemetary in south Lincoln.
angrydurf Posted October 4, 2009 Author Posted October 4, 2009 Go ahead and give a description of how Deadhead shows up on Phantoms magic senses, They are acute and analytical.
angrydurf Posted October 4, 2009 Author Posted October 4, 2009 Streetwise check for? The most recent upheval in the "necromantic" community is you.
Avenger Assembled Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 I dunno, insight. Would an Arcane Lore check be more suitable to have some idea of what's going on, durf? Or is that something you'd rather we tease out? Because if it's Arcane, I got a nat 20. :D
angrydurf Posted October 5, 2009 Author Posted October 5, 2009 OK Streetwise first. It would be hard to get a crew in here even under dark of night and get the body out withotu being seen. They would have needed around 5-8 good size guys to dig that up in a night. Someone nearby must've seen something. Theres alot of things necromancers could use a dead body for. Zombies is certainly one of them but fresher is better when it comes to that, the headstone reads that he was intered over 4 years ago.
Geez3r Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 Going to make some Streetwise and Gather Info to see if I can piece together some of this mess with the new information about zombies, undead and necromancers. Anything I previously described as lunacy. Any similarities between this and other events, where these events seem to be concentrated, that sort of thing. Knowledge: Streetwise (1d20+8=27) Gather Info (1d20+10=19)
angrydurf Posted October 5, 2009 Author Posted October 5, 2009 Alot of the street people who used to hide out down below have made mention of dead things moving down there. Most people figured it was just gangs using scare tactics to carve out a hideout. There were also mention of more monsterous things, some standard sewer legends giant reptiles etc. But also some kind of Giant 'Thing' though every story about that is at least third hand. With some time you might be able to find out more specifics of where down below this stuff was seen but you'd have to do some asking.
Dr Archeville Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 Let's see what's rattlin' around in Dead Head's noggin. Knowledge (Arcane Lore) - 22 Knowledge (Popular Culture) - 14 Knowledge (Theology & Philosophy) - 25
angrydurf Posted October 5, 2009 Author Posted October 5, 2009 Pop culture - All the wackos come out in October. Arcane Lore - Yea necromancers can do lots with bodies and grave memorabilia without seeing actual ritual materials its pretty hard to guess what. Fresh zombies are the best Zombies. Theology and Philosophy - You have heard rumor of a splinter voodoo sect that believes that this Holloween is an opportunity for great power of some sort. They follow Baron Sammedi. Details are sparse as even the most fringe Voodoo groups consider them to be dangerous wackos.
angrydurf Posted October 9, 2009 Author Posted October 9, 2009 Since I seem to have misrepresented the situation a bit. Phantoms senses can detect that they activated a portal here, Possibly using the shadow dimension, it is not currently active however.
Avenger Assembled Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 Well, can Phantom trace that teleport? :D
angrydurf Posted October 11, 2009 Author Posted October 11, 2009 Well Trace teleport is a 1 pt. tracking ability so if nothing else you could power-stunt it it however it has a Notice DC of 10+1 per round or +10 per minute in this case the Notice DC would be in the neighborhood of 12000. Basically the signature is too old to trace accurately.
angrydurf Posted October 13, 2009 Author Posted October 13, 2009 So AA where are you leading folks? To Necromancers you know?
Dr Archeville Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 Or are Avenger & Phantom going to go off (like Fred & Daphne), leaving Samael & Dead Head to search for ingredients to make a giant sandwich?
Geez3r Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 Heh. I wonder how you say "Zoinks!" in Russian...
angrydurf Posted October 19, 2009 Author Posted October 19, 2009 Ok I thought I had put this up when I made the IC post. Need a DC 15 notice and DC 10 sense motive from everyone. Success on the Notice will note that most of the people remainng here seem to be the signifigantly disabled, missing or malformed limbs etc. Success on the sense motive lets you know that while they are frightened by all of you none of them seem particularly surprised by Dead Heads appearance.
Dr Archeville Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 Notice for Dead Head = 8 Sense Motive for Dead Head = 20 :)
alderwitch Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 Notice, Sense Motive: 1d20+10=26, 1d20+10=15
Geez3r Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 Notice check - DC 15 (1d20+9=15) Sense Motive check - DC 10 (1d20+8=14) Huzzah. I'm useful.
