Heritage Posted December 14, 2009 Author Posted December 14, 2009 Hmm, I want to continue this thread, but I'm not quite sure how to do so, since I don't think we've resolved the poker issues. Do we want to keep this going? It is a few months old now.
quotemyname Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 Well first off, I'm not even sure everyone is still around for this thing. How could we continue it?
Geez3r Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 Well we could play a few hands "off camera" then people who aren't still around get dragged off for various reasons (ie: running out of money, needing to get up early tomorrow, getting too sleepy). But the rest of us decide to stay for a little longer.
quotemyname Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 i like that idea. It saves us from having to figure out the poker aspect. (though it would be cool)
Heritage Posted December 20, 2009 Author Posted December 20, 2009 So we sort of cut to later in the evening? Who all would be left?
Heritage Posted January 14, 2010 Author Posted January 14, 2010 Grim goes in for a low blow, and activates her Enhanced Charisma, taking her up to Cha 30, which I believe gives her 35 on her Bluff check if she takes 10. Nothing overtly physical happens, it's actually a fairly subtle combination of movement, gestures and slight physical augmentation. By the way, 'Big Eyes' is Grim's joking reference to those cheesy paintings of puppy dogs with giant eyes, so get your mind out of the gutter, you! ;)
Heritage Posted January 31, 2010 Author Posted January 31, 2010 To better simuate a somewhat random hand, I used a tarot deck minus the Major Arcana and the Princesses (it was a Crowley deck, so no Kings, just Knights that I used as Kings) took out one ace and one queen (at random) and dealt me and Geezer two cards each. I got the 3 and 5 of Swords, which according to this chart equals Spades. I know it's not an 100% accuarte, but it was fun. P.s. Geez, if you want 'em, I dealt you Q8, both Hearts; Quote, I randomly drew out Ace of Clubs and Queen of Spades. Up to you guys if you want to use 'em I will not shuffle the rest of the deck, in case we want to use the same cut.
Geez3r Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 Quote posted this in the IC: I'm cool with that/ Which I have since deleted. I'm also fine with this set up.
quotemyname Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 Woops sorry about that. Must have gotten my tabs mixed up.
Heritage Posted February 5, 2010 Author Posted February 5, 2010 For the hell of it, using the same cut as previously (I previosuly packed the deck back into its box, untouched), I dealt out a flop, in this order: 10 of Diamonds, 6 of Clubs and King of Spades. Do we want to use this flop?
quotemyname Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 Sure, that's fine. I actually kind of figured you would keep dealing.
Heritage Posted February 11, 2010 Author Posted February 11, 2010 Sorry for the dumbness here, but do I turn over the next card now?
quotemyname Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 You discard the top card and turn the next one over. This process is known as "burn and turn".
Heritage Posted February 12, 2010 Author Posted February 12, 2010 Okay, so we say goodbye to the Seven of Hearts (the burn) and hello to the Jack of Clubs (the turn).
quotemyname Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Wow. Looks like I just got my straight! Who's turn is it to post IC?
Heritage Posted February 13, 2010 Author Posted February 13, 2010 Wow. Looks like I just got my straight! Who's turn is it to post IC? To be honest, I'm totally turned around, since I think we've all screwed up the betting order at least once. Sometimes Grim bets after Colt shows the cards, then Atlas, and sometimes Atlas goes first and then Grim.
quotemyname Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 Well, the starting dealer changes each time, meaning the first to be does also. Right now, Grim is dealing if I'm correct, that means Atlas has first bets this round. Colt bets after Atlas, and Grim after Colt. Then grim turns the next card and it starts all over.
Heritage Posted February 15, 2010 Author Posted February 15, 2010 Actually I'm pretty sure Colt dealt the current hand, based on this post.
quotemyname Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Well, okay then, It would be Grim's bet.
quotemyname Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 Just to be clear, colt bets last in the order for this hand. So Atlas basically checked to the dealer, he didn't get a free card. So the fifth card should not be dealt until Atlas has decided whether or not he wants to stay in the hand or not.
Heritage Posted February 22, 2010 Author Posted February 22, 2010 What's the next card, Heritage? Oops, you're right, I forgot the river! We have the Nine of Diamonds, ladies and gentlemen.
