quotemyname Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Didn't you roll a 20 on that toughness save re-roll? As per impossible toughness save rules, don't you take only the minimum damage when you roll a 10? I.E. Bruised and Injured, but no Stunned?
angrydurf Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Ah ha you are correct sir. No stun so I'm at 3 HP.
Avenger Assembled Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 You are still pinned; she'd still have you pinned on a natural 1 with that roll.
angrydurf Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 So am I in a grapple or pinned (and thus entangled). Since she did damage she couldn't use the grappling pin action. (also I don't think she can use a sword in a grapple).
quotemyname Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 I think AA stated that she wasn't really "using" the sword, he was just using it as a descriptor. Also, if she has Improved Grab, she could have hit you with a melee attack and then initiated the grapple and used the pin option afterward. So it's possible, and with a grapple check of +35, I doubt she WOULDN'T have Improved Grab ;)
angrydurf Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 That would be fine too assuming that that save wasn't with the swords damage bonus Also this is why We need new grapple rules :D
Moira Morley Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 Just to note: Patchwork: 29 Arrowhawk: 25 Scarab: 25 Grim: 19 Moira: 19 Phantom: 17 Colt: 16 Ace: 16 Iron Golem: 16 Arcanix: 16 Atlas: 15 Avenger: 14 Dark Star: 12 Dr. Archeville: 4
Heritage Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 Okay, looks like Grim might have missed with her stunted 'Blast 15 (Flaw: Action/Full)'; oh well!
Avenger Assembled Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 That is a miss. Scarab is holding her action till Shaen goes. Moira is up.
Moira Morley Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 Rage! Charge! Spend HP for Improved Overrun! Try to hit! If hit, try to trip! If trip, surge! If surge, then stomp! Hit, trip and stomp rolls respectively (1d20+9=23, 1d20+21=35, 1d20+9=28)
alderwitch Posted January 21, 2010 Author Posted January 21, 2010 Phantom is holding her action to counterspell any magic cast by magic-rune dude.
quotemyname Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 I will take a full round action to use Ultimate Aim on the big Iron Golem type dude. I'll just write up a quick post that shouldn't have much bearing on the result of Moira's attack. 5HP remaining. Next round, he could be looking at up to a Toughness save of up to 41. If someone wants to set me up, that would be awesome :D
Nyrath Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 You do know that Ultimate Aim doesn't count as a Critical right? So I'm curious as to where the last jump from DC 36 to 41 is to be found.
quotemyname Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 Rank 8 + Max Power Attack 8 + Max Autofire 10 + Base DC 15 = 41
Nyrath Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 And Autofire 3 caps at the effect rank, or 10, whichever is lower
angrydurf Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 Power attack caps at 5 and autofire caps at your base damage mod or 10 whichever is less.
quotemyname Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 Ahh, well then 36 it is. For some reason I thought that Power Attack wouldn't let you increase it to any more than double. Though I guess it was that or 5 whichever is less. Oh well. It's still gonna hurt ;)
angrydurf Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 For the sake of exploring my options a couple questions AA. Is reconfiguring my gadgets possible while pinned? Immobile but not helpless isn't well defined. (assuming the corrected edits to his sheet are allowed, and happen) Given the description of this 'Grapple' can I stunt Immunity 5(Entrapment; Flaws: Limited: Grapple only) [3] off my Regen? Basically Ace just pulling himself off the sword since he can't die anyway.
Avenger Assembled Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 Durf, I don't like power-stunting off Regen, sorry. But yes, you can reconfigure your Gadgets. After all, your hands are technically free. Moira, have an HP for the GM Fiat. Ace is up, then Arcanix and the Golem.
alderwitch Posted January 21, 2010 Author Posted January 21, 2010 35 Had to spend an hp, roll to counter magic.
angrydurf Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 Ace sets his gadgets to rank 1 insubstantial to break from the grapple. His body is now effectively liquid.
alderwitch Posted January 22, 2010 Author Posted January 22, 2010 Patchwork Girl: 29 Arrowhawk: 25 Scarab: 25 Grim: 19 Moira: 19 Phantom: 17 Colt: 16 Ace: 16 Arcanix: 16 Iron Golem: 16 Atlas: 15 Fleur: 15 Avenger: 14 Dark Star: 12 Doc Archevielle: 4
Avenger Assembled Posted January 23, 2010 Posted January 23, 2010 Arcanix is unable to overcome Phantom's countering. This time. He uses his move action to float up off the floor, out of melee range. The Golem hits Divine That's a DC 37 Tou save, Moira. It's also for lethal. (Don't worry, I'm not going to kill anyone who won't get better. ) The Golem initiates a grapple: 52 This is higher than Moira could roll on a natural 20, so he's automatically successful. He's going to surge. (Heritage, have an HP. Why you? You'll see. ) Turning, he charges Grimalkin, makes a 30-foot move action, and hits Grimalkin with Moira. That's a DC 32 Tou save for Divine (and you thought that HP was going to waste! ) and Grim, though Geez3r has mentioned that Atlas is planning to Interpose for his squishy faerie friend this round. So check before you roll. This is also for lethal; again, not going to kill anyone who won't get better. But the stakes need to be high here.
