Barnum Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 Cost: Ability 20 (see #3 below) + Combat 18 + Saves 5 pts (see note 1 below) + Skills 8.25 (33 skill points, see note 2 below) + Feats 10 + Powers 40 = 101.24 (you're 11.24 points over). 1. An 8 ability score is only -1 not -2. 2. You've spent 1 too many skill ranks. 3. The math on your ability scores is wrong. You've got 20 points worth of ability scores there.

cosmicarus Posted October 29, 2007 Author Posted October 29, 2007 Ok! All fixed... hopefully. Please check it over, my math skill isn't what it used to be... ...and it was never much.

hero4hire Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 Ok! All fixed... hopefully. Please check it over, my math skill isn't what it used to be... ...and it was never much. Notice and Intimidate still have the wrong modifier (-2 instead of -1) and I think you mean attack focus melee not specialization. I have a pic of a baddie I used once or twice in another PbP named Mallrat. Please feel free to use it Cos if it fits Ver-Man.

Shadow Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 Looking over the build I have a few comments. [every city can use a giant ratman in the sewers.] 8-) 1] "and when he and his wife died giving birth to a much longed for daughter two years later, he despaired to find what was to be the symbol of his rebuilt life tainted with rodent-like feature." – that’s a typo isn’t it? I mean HE is not dead? 2] How did he return to rat like form? Was the process to make him human just wearing off? 3] “Most often this takes the form of something random - a street sign or neon light –“ Is this another typo? HE doesn’t actually change shape does he? 4] The elongation power for the tail, the tail is the only part that elongates? Is it permanent? [that would be 2 (-1) flaws] 5] Attack specialisation is a +2 to attack with something very specific [like rat tail, or claws], if you want to be better at melee only then you want attack focus. [not a big deal, they cost the same after all.] 6] Just curios to know where/how you got “counters concealmentâ€Â. What power is this based off of?

I have a pic of a baddie I used once or twice in another PbP named Mallrat. Please feel free to use it Cos if it fits Ver-Man. You, my friend, are great. Thanks for all of that. The pic is very close to what I had in mind! Looking over the build I have a few comments. [every city can use a giant ratman in the sewers.] 8-) My thoughts exactly 1] "and when he and his wife died giving birth to a much longed for daughter two years later, he despaired to find what was to be the symbol of his rebuilt life tainted with rodent-like feature." – that’s a typo isn’t it? I mean HE is not dead? That is a typo - I'll fix that  2] How did he return to rat like form? Was the process to make him human just wearing off? How's this: ...The shock drove Vernan over the edge and his rediscovered humanity drained before the very eyes of those around him. He staggered towards the hospital exit, images of his dead wife and freak child spinning through his mind. His life was over - gone. Worse that that! It would have been better never to have been. His face was twitching in odd ways - distorting. Hospital staff were conflicted on either trying to help, or avoid the sweaty, skittish man who seemed to be tumbling down the hallways. His hand, lightly trailing along the hospital wall absently, began to leave a mark in it's wake. His mouth began to open, making room for already ragged, sharp teeth. Inside, his mind was crumbling. All of his life he'd been careful. He counted things - that's what he did. Numbers were easy, they were either there, or he would find them. Collating was what he'd been born to do, and now nothing added up! It was as if his conciousness was checking out, making room for something else that was making itself at home - this something else seemed to be bringing it's own furniture with it! By the time Vernan had made it to the hospital foyer, people shrieked when they saw him: glistening, sweaty skin under patchy, course hair. A male nurse came to try and aid him, but Vernan snapped - literally - at him, and he fell backwards. That's when Vernan saw it - the shiney watch on the nurse's uniform - so shiny! He made for it, growling in excitement as he did so. He slashed wildly in his attempt at the jewel, and hurt the nurse rather badly. He may have killed the poor man had not some of Freedom City's heroes (who happened to be in the hospital visiting a colleague at the time) heard the ruckus. They confronted Vernan, now completely transformed, but he eluded capture by escaping down into the sewers. Now he lives there, periodically going into the surface world to collate and collect whatever takes his fancy... Thoughts? I see it as his body was genetically predisposition to go either way (human or rat like), and in the end, given the cicumstances, the rat won. Just like when people have physchological or even physical reactions to the world around them that remain permement. 3] “Most often this takes the form of something random - a street sign or neon light –“ Is this another typo? HE doesn’t actually change shape does he? No, he doesn't change shape. Apologies - I was describing the things that he takes into the sewers. I'll make it clearer. 4] The elongation power for the tail, the tail is the only part that elongates? Is it permanent? hero4hire Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 4] The elongation power for the tail, the tail is the only part that elongates? Is it permanent? [that would be 2 (-1) flaws] Gak! Again, A Sustained Power made Permanent would end up a +0 Flaw. +1 extra to make it Continuous (as only Continuous powers can be made Permanent) and then a -1 Flaw to make it Permanent. This works the same in reverse. A Permanent power must be "Bought up" to Continuous before adding the Duration flaw.
