quotemyname Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 What would a decent bar fight be without someone getting thrown? I'm going to bluff the new guy by ducking behind him, (DC 30) Then I'm going to grapple the dude, damage him, and then surge to use a move action to toss him into another dude and hopefully put the pair through a table or something cinematic like that. attack roll, followed by grapple. (1d20+14=21, 1d20+16=23) Not so random numbers are not so random! If that works, let me know the results and I'll throw up a fitting IC post. (The damage effect is only a DC 17 this time.)
Gizmo Posted February 8, 2010 Author Posted February 8, 2010 Feint save vs. DC 30. (1d20=5) Fails. Grapple check. (1d20+6=21) Fails. Toughness save vs. DC 17. (1d20+3=7) Fails by 10, stunned and staggered. I'm going to say to hit another guy you need to make a ranged attack roll; if it hits, I guess the DC is 18, since these guys have +3 Toughness.
quotemyname Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 throwin dudes! (1d20+18=28) Yea, that'll hit!
Gizmo Posted February 8, 2010 Author Posted February 8, 2010 Toughness save vs. DC 18. (1d20+3=8) Fails by 10, Staggered and Stunned. And all of the sudden it's 2 on 2! I'll have Jack act once you make your IC post.
Gizmo Posted February 8, 2010 Author Posted February 8, 2010 One of the remaining Firebirds tries to grapple Jack - Initiate grapple. (1d20+3=15) - but fails. The other one charges Colt - Charge. (1d20+5=10) - and is similarly disappointed. Jack makes an Unarmed Power Attack. (1d20+6=16) Toughness save vs. DC 22. (1d20+3=12) His target is Stunned and Staggered.
quotemyname Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 I failed to mention last round that I was just going to clear the fatigue from extra effort right away. Gonna give him another acrobatic bluff as part of the sidestep. DC 30. As my standard, I'll power attack him. If it misses, I'll HP it to just end the fight. Power Attack 5 (1d20+9=12) Currently at 4 HP, 3 if I need to HP the re-roll (which should be an auto hit).
Gizmo Posted February 8, 2010 Author Posted February 8, 2010 Okay, spending a HP to reroll; rolling a 11 and up is a hit so there you go. Toughness save vs. DC 22. (1d20+3=17) Fails by 5 so he's stunned and bruised. Jack will finish him off with an Unarmed Power Attack 5. (1d20+6=22) Toughness save vs. DC 22. (1d20+2=3) Ha, yeah, he's unconscious.
Heritage Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 Hi guys! I'm thinking Grim would take Jack and maybe Colt to see Colby the day after this, so she can have time to do some artificing, maybe whipping up and item that lets her see various extradimensional energies or something. I'm thinking of keeping WCotN open as a solo thred, to explore the developing friendship between the two characters, so maybe we should do a fresh thread set the day after these events. BTW, very entertaining barfight! :D
Heritage Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 We could all go over to Colby's home/studio/ritual space in West End, to help with the identity maintaining; does that sound good?
quotemyname Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 *see previous post* Whenever you're ready, just let me know where the thread is :)
Heritage Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 Figured we can set it up IC; let me know if this is cool.
Gizmo Posted February 16, 2010 Author Posted February 16, 2010 Sure, sounds like a plan. We can probably play it mostly by ear.
Gizmo Posted February 18, 2010 Author Posted February 18, 2010 Quick question, what's Moira's bar like, generally? Are we talking hole in the wall, trendy night spot, what? Jack would have heard of it if it's in the West End, but I need to figure out what his general reaction would be.

My understanding is that it's a neighborhood fixture which has been in her (human) family for years, an Irish pub-style place with live music and pool. Here's a link that might give you the right feel. Edit: Another Morley's thread.
Gizmo Posted March 16, 2010 Author Posted March 16, 2010 Y'know, I only meant it as a description of Erik's personality, but I think I basically just said he takes 20 on Intelligence checks whenever there's time. Or would thinking about stuff like that be a Wisdom check?
