Gizmo
Jack uses his move action to Acrobatics his way over to the Green Man, then tosses out a DC 33 Distract to keep tall, green and leafy from trying anything clever this turn. Link to comment
Electra
Sorry, Darius, I didn't even see the Sense Motive check. On the other hand, Stesha's first inclination is always to believe the best of everyone, so she wouldn't even need a sense motive check to think that maybe the Green Man is a nice guy this time. He's just misunderstood! Link to comment
Dariusprime
I'm sorry too. I didn't notice the lack of sense motive on your part! I can understand where she is going from though. :) Link to comment
Cyroa
for the record (even though I'm not up for a while), I'm not buying it! James will be attacking :) Link to comment
quotemyname
I could have sworn I put something in the OOC about this... BD readies an action to attack any of the three big trees that tries anything stupid :P Link to comment
Dr Archeville
Dead Head readies an action to cinematically dive in the way of (i.e., use his Interpose feat) any attacks made by the Green Man or his goons against us fine, upstanding heroes. Oh, and here's a chance for the acting Ref to be devious: Dead Head's shovel is an ordinary, run-of-the-mill piece, like you'd find at a Wal*Mart. Notably, it has a wooden handle. Feel free to have backspalsh from the vine critter/Green Man's mutated limb do horrible things to it ;) Link to comment
Dariusprime
Twig, Sprig, The GM in that order: Will vs Jack's DC 33 Distract (1d20+8=17, 1d20+8=13, 1d20+8=25) As he has your attention, thus do you have his. Hellion is ebul! Evul! ;P Fleur, want to take an action? I'll post for GM and then edit as needed. I like your thinking, Doc. Thank you. Jack 25 x6 HP Breakdown 13 x4 HP Animated Trees 8, some crispy Sprig 8 Fleur 7 x5 HP Twig 6, bruised x1, stunned to 5 The Green Man 6 bruised x1 Hellion 5 x4 HP DH 4 x2 HP Link to comment
Gizmo
Anyone mind if I have Jack respond to the Green Man, since he's kind of being addressed directly? Just 'talking is a free action' stuff, naturally. Link to comment
quotemyname
Go for it. EDIT: DP, I believe Distract only targets one person, I.E. Greenman. The other trees are not necessarily distracted, though BD's threat might be enough to keep them in line, or whatever. Link to comment
Dariusprime
Sure, Gizmo, I have no problem with it. Quote: Thank you! Yeah, they are going to play it cool. And overall, the tree really believes what he is saying is true. Punk. :D Link to comment
Cyroa
Sorry for my absence...RL So, who's up? Link to comment
Dr Archeville
I think we're out of initiative now, and are just talking. Link to comment
Cyroa
....I failed my roll and I think they are teh bad guys....was pretty sure I was gonna attack (unless someone said something REALLY convincing to stop me...and Jack's post seems to indicate he wants me attacking anyway ) Link to comment
Gizmo
Well, it strikes me that the Green Man is being honest insomuch as he thinks that him getting souped up on space plant mojo would be both awesome and better than letting the things run wild on their own. Jack's just kind of an Occam's razor sort of guy: if fire won't solve the problem, then you're probably not using enough fire. Might as well take both leafy menaces down and sort it out later. Cyroa
Works for me. Darius, let me know when I can post. ;) Link to comment
quotemyname
I condone no such course of action, but go ahead :P Link to comment
Dariusprime
I was kinda waiting for Electra, but go right ahead and fire the poor wretch if that is your wish, Cyroa. Otherwise, yes, please feel free to talk it out (ie out of combat initiative). Once Electra or Cyroa posts, I'll post up more for the Man himself. :D Link to comment
Gizmo
quote, the Green Man just did explain. It was just a stupid explanation, is all. Link to comment
Cyroa
attacking tree man! power attack for 5 (1d20+5=21) Hope that hits... If so, using: AP: Strike 12 (Extras: Penetrating x3; PFs: Accurate x3, Affects Insubstantial 2) [20PP] link with Drain Toughness 8 (Extra: Affects Objects) [16PP] (The Black Blade) [infernal] [36PP] that's been Power Attacked for +5 Link to comment
Dariusprime
Hellion takes a Dark Side Point and a cookie. Why a cookie? Because the Dark Side has cookies. And Dental. Assuming that the PA stacks on both saves (I think so), then he fails! Gone three points... Fortitude vs Hellion's DC 23 Drain Toughness (1d20+14=20) Drained Toughness vs Hellions DC 32 Strike (1d20+11=25), Distracted (not that it matters), bruised x2, stunned Forgot the first bruised from DH, but it didn't affect the outcome. Gizmo, yeah, it was a whacky doodle explanation wasn't it? ;) Link to comment
Cyroa
Yummy! Dark Side points are so yummy. Cookies are good too of course. This isn't Star Wars though I suppose we could make a jedi char... Link to comment
Dr Archeville
Dead Head gets a new Sidekick? I keep having mental images of the warped shovel contorting into a hideous dog-like abomination. Kinda like these, but with the shovel blade forming the top of the head/snout, flower-eyes peeking around, a wooden body and splintered wooden jaw, stiff vines for legs and a more whiplike vine for a tail. EDIT: So is there any roll involved to remove it, or is it all just handwave-y flavor stuff? Link to comment
Dariusprime
Hand-waved flavor stuff. If you want it, you're welcome to it. Probably love some of that rich grave dirt. ;) Link to comment
Cyroa
I'm letting other people go...otherwise I'm likely to just douse the area in more hellfire until the problem is solved ;) Link to comment
Dariusprime
Any input? Will Hellion roast the trees like ears of corn? Will the mystery of the Green Star be revealed? ;) Link to comment
