Dr Archeville Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Doc's still got his brain set to Enhanced Charisma. Beginner's Luck (and an HP) to get 5 ranks of Intimidate, bringing his total Intimidate modifier to +12. Intimidate check (1d20+12=15) Use another HP to re-roll that: Intimidate check; HP re-roll (1d20+12=30) Much better
angrydurf Posted May 6, 2010 Author Posted May 6, 2010 Need a sense motive to see if he's actually dropping full disclosure.
Dr Archeville Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Brain's still on Enhanced Cha, so his Sense Motive is only +10. Sense Motive vs. The Finn (1d20+10=29) [Kool Aid Man] Oh yeah! [/Kool Aid Man]
angrydurf Posted May 7, 2010 Author Posted May 7, 2010 Right he's holding a bit of something back. Likely due to whatever it is being a bigger risk than whatever you could do by busting him. AKA someone made a better intimidate check to get him to keep quiet about something.
Dr Archeville Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 playah, did you want to say/do anything, or shall I go on ahead?
Dr Archeville Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Alright, using his Electromagnetic Screwdriver, but keeping his brain set on Enhanced Charisma, Doc has a +26 on Disable Device. And he's got Skill Mastery on it, so he can Take 10 for a 36. And some Subtle Telekinesis so he can manipulate it from afar. Enhanced Skills 6 (Disable Device +6) [2pp] Telekinesis 3 (Str 15; Extra: Range/Perception; PFs: Precise, Subtle) [11pp] 2+11 = 13/15 points spent in his Gadget
angrydurf Posted May 19, 2010 Author Posted May 19, 2010 It doesn't even really have a lock just a latch which you have plenty of success in disengaging. There is an advanced silent alarm system as well but it appears to be disengaged at the moment.
angrydurf Posted May 28, 2010 Author Posted May 28, 2010 OK Playah seems to be MIA? Since the combat thread has wrapped mostly I think I'm just gonna shove the two together in a few posts go ahead and post at your leisure doc.
Dr Archeville Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 Looks that way And Doc never got to see him do anything. So should I post Doc pushing/dragging Finn down through the Secret Door, or do the others arrive before that?
Pengwolf Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 Hey guys, rumor has it there may be an opening in this thread. I was wondering if perhaps my new character, Displacer, might find his way into this adventure. He's already got connections with Dr. Acheville, so that might be helpful. Let me know what you think.
angrydurf Posted May 31, 2010 Author Posted May 31, 2010 Go ahead an post Doc that'll lead into merging some stuff up. Displacer You're welcome to join in if you have a link to Doc then I think having him call you in might be the way to go with introducing you so it might take a couple posts.
Pengwolf Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 Displacer You're welcome to join in if you have a link to Doc then I think having him call you in might be the way to go with introducing you so it might take a couple posts. Okay, cool. Could someone send me a PM when you're ready for me to join in? I'll try to watch the thread in the meantime and catch up on what's been happening.
Pengwolf Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 Hey guys. Displacer's gonna take 10 on stealth (total of 13) and notice (total of 15) to eavesdrop on the conversation that's been going on in the back room.
Dr Archeville Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 What's the Japanese script on the crate say? And what's on the papers?
angrydurf Posted June 29, 2010 Author Posted June 29, 2010 The script the name of a Japanese tech firm, if you do even a little digging you'll find that a truckload of microprocessors from the company was stolen a week or so ago. Nothing terribly exciting, parts for like clock radios or those little AM/FM radio headsets that never actually work. The papers look to be lists of names and addresses, they look to be gathered from different sources. If you go and look under the papers there's a class list and what looks like surveillance pictures of the students on the list. Given Docs big ol brain and the fact that he sent an agent there recently he'll recognize it as claremont Academy. There are also several cunningly forged notices canceling a filed trip to ASTRO Labs but none of the ones here have names filled in.
angrydurf Posted July 4, 2010 Author Posted July 4, 2010 Go ahead and give me a investigation check if you want to do any analysis of any of the stuff on his computer or of the video.
Dr Archeville Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 Using his full braininess (i.e., switching to Enhanced Int) and the Screwdriver's commlink to access useful cutting-edge software (video and image filters, patter-matching algorithms, criminal databases, etc.) (i.e., the fluff for the +6 bonus on Investigate his HQ gives, or, to be more accurate, the fluff for switching his Gadget to give him +6 on Investigate), he's got +25. He can't use his Mental Quickness, since you can't Take 20 on Investigate checks. Unless there's something on the roof interrupting him, I'll Take 10, and get a 35.
angrydurf Posted July 4, 2010 Author Posted July 4, 2010 That'll do. Cross referencing what you have the field trip was scheduled for this very morning (Coincidentally enough) Slowing down the video and using assorted filters reveals a telltale flicker of a hologram unit cloaking the individual as Erik though you can't make out the features underneath it looks like there is some kind of armored suit though. On the audio there is a spike in a particular sub-harmonic range right before the meeting ends. Matching it against samples available shows a match to Maestros sonic mind control devices. If you want to go to ASTRO labs you can join up with the crew that just engaged the thief there.
