Thomas woke grogily in the pack cave. His head was swimming, but didn't hurt so bad. Waking up after a full moon night was always like waking up with a hangover.

Thomas could feel the warmth of another body next to him. Mia.

Glancing around, Thomas could see that the two shared one of the smaller cubby holes away from the main cave of the den. The two were huddled naked close together.

Next to him, Mia stirred. Thomas kissed the back of her neck and she pulled him closer. On the bed of needles, she rolled over to face him. Lying on her back, Mia gazed up at him. She lay with her arms at her sides. It was a wolf gesture, one of submission. She welcomed him, welcomed his touch. Thomas rolled over on top of her, not wanting their night to end just yet.
