N/A Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 Heavy metal icon Ronnie James Dio died of stomach cancer this last Sunday, May 16th, 2010. He sang and played guitar in over a dozen bands over a span of six decades, and he kept writing and playing and touring pretty much right up to the day he died. He fronted such seminal acts as Black Sabbath and Dio, and if you've ever turned on a radio or watched music television at some point in the last few decades, you've heard his songs, or at least covers of them. Oh, and if you've ever thrown up the horns to declare something "metal," thank Dio, because he invented that. But no more fitting tribute could be written than this gem that Robert Brockway bestowed upon Cracked.com. Ride the tiger.
