Dr Archeville Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes is an upcoming American cartoon series by Marvel Animation based on the Marvel Comics superhero team the Avengers. It has officially been announced that the show will debut on Disney XD in Fall 2010 starting with a 20 part micro-series. The series initially features a team based on the roster for the original Avengers, composed of Ant-Man, Captain America, Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, and the Wasp. In terms of tone and style, the series will be based primarily on the original stories by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. However, it will also utilize material from all eras of the comic's run and other sources such as the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Plot As the world's most dangerous villains break out, six of Earth's mightiest heroes assemble a freedom fighting alliance called the Avengers. The Avengers line-up initially includes Ant-Man, Captain America, Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, and the Wasp. Black Panther and Hawkeye will join the main roster as the series progresses. Supporting characters that will be featured on the show include Balder, Black Widow, Jane Foster, Nick Fury, Maria Hill, JARVIS, Odin, Pepper Potts, Clay Quartermain, Doc Samson, S.H.I.E.L.D., Wonder Man, and Jimmy Woo. Villain characters that will be featured on the show include Abomination, Absorbing Man, Advanced Idea Mechanics, Constrictor, Crimson Dynamo, Doctor Doom, Enchantress, Executioner, Graviton, Griffin, Grim Reaper, HYDRA, Kang the Conqueror, Leader, Loki, Mad Thinker, Mandrill, the Masters of Evil, MODOK, Purple Man, Red Ghost, Red Skull, Baron Strucker, Ultron, Viper, Whiplash (female version), Whirlwind, Wrecker, Baron Zemo, Arnim Zola, and Zzzax. Graviton will serve as the main villain. What little I've seen has piqued my interest.

As of right now, all I have to go off of is the ~hour long pilot episode, but this looks like it'll be good as well. We'll have to wait until January before the series begins in full, which is dumb.
Dr Archeville Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 I'd heard AMC's Comic Book Men was bad -- I couldn't get past the horrible 'jokes' in the pre-opening credits scenes of the first two eps -- but this review of the first ep shows it was even worse than I'd feared. And then one of the cast member responded to the review...
