Carces Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Dr. Abraham E. S. Corpus - NPC Power Level: 4 (60pp/60pp) Trade-Offs: None Unspent pp: 0 In Brief: Veteran Pathologist and Mortuary Director of McNider Memorial Hospital Alternate Identities: His friends might call him Abe, if he had any Identity: Public Occupation: Forensic Pathologist Affiliations: McNider Memorial Hospital Age: 53, Born October, 1957 Gender: Male Ethnicity: Caucasian Height: 5’11†Weight: 240lb Eyes: Brown Hair: White Description: Dr. Abraham Corpus is a large man, for someone in his field of study. He leaves his white laboratory jacket unbuttoned, in a misguided attempt to draw attention away from his gut. Underneath the laboratory coat are the usual doctor’s scrubs. His face is frozen in a perpetual scowl, and his thick, round glasses do little to hide his tired, annoyed glares given to anyone living visiting the morgue. On the exceptionally rare occurrence that one can find Dr. Corpus outside of the McNider Morgue, he tends to wear a grey suit with brown leather shoes and a rather boring tie. Whether he takes showers or not does very little to subdue the sterilized smell he shares with his “patients†in the morgue. History: Before his life in the hospital, Dr. Abraham Corpus enrolled as a military man, acting usually as a field medic (Corporal Corpus). In his military exploits he’d seen it all and treated all manner of wounds, granting him an unshakable cynicism that he displays to this day. He left the military on good terms during the 80’s to pursue a medical career. His experience in surgery coupled with an unbreakably cool composure quickly saw him as head of the mortuary in McNider Memorial Hospital, where he remains an asset in traditional and forensic pathology despite the Hospital’s recent cutbacks. Personality & Motivation: Dr. Corpus prefers the stiffs in the morgue to the usual talkative company, as the dead and the single-celled organisms he encounters tend to be much less complicated and easier to get along with. That said, he has made it his solemn duty to ensure that his patients are not the kind that are likely to walk among the living, wreaking havoc when the next “fancy pants necromancer†decides to whip up an army of the dead. His strict adherence to security measures, including strapping down corpses and the use of padlocks has, on more than one occasion, stopped a zombie virus from spreading to the upper levels of the hospital and the birth of certain vampiric entities. Unfortunately, with the current cutbacks to McNider Memorial in favour of the larger Freedom Medical Center, security measures can be tightened only so far. Dr. Corpus often works with the police and a variety of super heroes in investigating murders, or other, stranger crimes that can benefit from his expertise. Most people don’t stick around, however, as his grim personality can be quite overwhelming. Powers & Tactics: Dr. Abraham Corpus is not afraid to use his contacts, usually other people in Criminal Sciences, to draw accurate conclusions during autopsies. During combat, he does not own a weapon and will likely find cover or retreat, unless an opportunity to help arises. He has not performed surgery on a living body in years, and would be hesitant to start, save for an emergency situation. Complications: Humourless: Dr. Corpus has no sense of humour, and has very little in the way of social skills, making him a difficult person to get along with. To say he’s completely humourless is, perhaps, a tad misleading. He does have a mug that reads “The Buck Stops Here†which he finds indisputably hilarious. Most sane people don’t share this view. Dr Archeville Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 You really should have an approved PC first, before submitting NPCs. :)
Carces Posted July 27, 2010 Author Posted July 27, 2010 Ah. It's unfortunate that I haven't figured out anyone I care to play as of yet, then. I've been in more of a storycrafting mood as of late. Ah well. I apologize for the faux pas.
